@rah more from that month

I am now even more convinced that Putin's strategy has been twofold and now this is the main thrust, with the approaching convoy now standing at some 60km / 40 miles long. He sent soft / inexperienced units in relatively light / outdated vehicles to see how the Ukrainian defences will deploy and if they managed to soften them up in the process it was Putin's bonus. The Ukrainians must stop this convoy to have any hope, but the ground is open. Hit and run attacks designed to both destroy and block the road is their best hope. The odds are against them The sad thing is that Nato air power would tear through that column like a hot knife through butter, and knock out a significant chunk of Russian air defence, but that would provoke a nuclear war (which might be inevitable now). Ukraine is indeed alone and more sorrow will follow.
