So yesterday my mother in law picked up a story on the Polish media that was sourced from radio chatter among Russian soldiers. I have not authenticated this, but have no reason to question it especially because of how it was sourced. There was a platoon of Russian soldiers left unprovisioned and were feeling completely miserable in their foxholes when an elderly Ukrainian lady took sympathy on them and insisted they came into her home and she fed them with pate. A short time later they were all dead as she had poisoned it. I feel a bit sorry for soldiers who at the end of the day are fellow human beings, but if a burglar enters your home and something happens to him then the consequences are on him even if he is sent by a Mafia boss. What seems to authenticate it is that it came from chatter between Russian soldiers who would have probably been to embarrassed to make up such a story for propaganda purposes.
