Just wanting people's opinion on something. Since I was a kid I have always been a Star Wars fan. I am too young to see the first two films in the the cinema but I do remember as an 11 year old turning 12 going to see The Return of the Jedi. By then I had seen the original movie but had to wait a few more years before i saw The Empire Stirkes Back - which many claim to be the best of all the Star Wars movies. As an old school fan it might surprise people to know that I actually prefer the second trilogy (Episodes I - III) because while the dialogue is a bit clunky a times and there is absolutely no chemistry between Padme and Anakin it doesn't have sequences that bore me other than the pod race. In the original trilogy - Episode IV - the droids wandering across the desert Episode V - Luke's training and I still don't really understand the cave sequence Episode VI - Jabba's Palace including the Rancor sequence. My main problem with the last trilogy is that it completely undoes the relevance of the Anakin / Vader story, as well as The Last Jedi being the worst film of all. It does have its moments though and especially the return of Palpatine. For the record my favourite film has to be Rogue One. It is complete in my view with the only weakness being the "force user" who is somekind of blind Sensai. That is more Karate Kid than Star Wars - I half expected him to say "Wipe on Wipe off" However my question is - where does Solo fit in? The Empire has been established, the Stormtroopers are wearing uniforms from the middle (original trilogy) and Han Solo is 10 - 20 years younger than in A New Hope. So logically it seems to fit in somewhere soon after The Revenge of the Sith but quite a while before Rogue One. Sounds great. But then towards the end Darth Maul turns up as it appears that Emilia Clarke's character is his "Sith Padawan" I read online that Solo should fit in between the Phantom Menance (because despite appearances he didn't actually die according to some fans). i just tried to watch in this suggested order but despite Darth Maul with the Empire established it doesnt work. What is your view?
