Ketupat in Eid Al-Fitr

Atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr is still not forgotten, three days have passed, but on this occasion I personally wish you a happy Eid Al-Fitr to my Muslim friends, who yesterday ended their fasting for one month.

May our good deeds be accepted by Allah and all our mistakes and sins are forgiven by Allah, so that we can become better after fasting for a month with various additional practices while fasting.

Yesterday, Monday, I and all Muslim brothers and sisters celebrated Eid al-Fitr, what is never missed in my area is that we always make soupy dishes and make "ketupat" I don't know if it is translated into English what the name of this meal is.

Ketupat is a mandatory menu that almost should not be missed during Eid al-Fitr. This Eid special dish is also liked by many people. Because have texture is soft and it's only found during Eid, but maybe on other days you can also enjoy ketupat, but I'm sure it won't be as delicious as ketupat on Eid.

Ketupat is a Southeast Asian dish, made from rice and wrapped in woven young coconut leaves in a square shape. Not only as a typical Eid food, it turns out that ketupat also often fills traditional events in several regions in my country, such as for traditional worship rituals as a symbol of gratitude to God.

For example, in Java and Bali, Ketupat is a symbol of gratitude at Sekaten and Grebeg Maulud events, as well as other traditional ceremonies. You can also find Ketupat in various other Southeast Asian countries, which have many residents with Malay ethnicity.

Ketupat tastes more delicious when you combine it with various types of food, especially those with coconut milk. During Eid, usually all peoples in my area will serve ketupat with chicken opor, rendang, and even chicken satay.

You can also find ketupat easily in market because there are definitely many who sell it when it is approaching Eid al-Fitr, but if you can make your own it will be better and definitely more delicious when you eat it.
