Santa Maria della Salute
Jelena Lenka Dundjerski, the daughter of the wealthy merchant Lazar Dundjerski, and a symbol of the beauty of that time, met Laza Kostic, then a famous poet, when she was 21 and he was 50. At the first meeting, Laza complimented Lenka in 5 world languages. , where love was born immediately. Thinking that he is unworthy of Lenka's love, Laza Kostić withdraws and, at the suggestion of Lenka's father, marries another woman. Two months after his wedding, Lenka dies in Vienna, according to one version of the story from illness, and according to another from grief for Laza.
After that, Laza went to the church to pray for forgiveness, where the verses of one of the best songs of all time appear to him for the first time, and 14 years after Lenka's death, the song "Santa Maria della Salute" was written.
