Throwback to Kuala Terengganu trip #6 Nasi Dagang is a much simpler dish compared to Nasi Kerabu. It is a Malaysian dish consisting of rice steamed in coconut milk, protein options such as fish curry or fried chicken, and topped with vegetables such as pickled cucumber and carrots. It's my first time trying Nasi Dagang. While planning for the food itinerary, I was thinking since I'm already here on the east side of Malaysia, I might as well try the "original" Nasi Dagang. Turns out not a bad choice! I like how fragrant the rice is. It has a slight salty taste and it smells a lot more fragrant than the rice I usually had in Nasi Lemak. The picked vegetables are preserved in just the right amount of sourness too. Such a simple traditional dish triggers the nostalgic memories of the local people here. They have 3 branches in Kuala Terengganu city alone! Imagine the popularity, considering the population in this laid-back city. We went there at 8.30 am and there's already a long queue!😄
