The Power of Words: Why Kindness Is Key There’s a saying that goes, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” But let’s be honest—words can cut deeper than we imagine. They have the power to uplift or break someone’s spirit. Sadly, in today’s world, many people use their words carelessly, especially online, forgetting how impactful they can be. Your words can heal, inspire, or hurt. That’s why kindness should come naturally—not because someone told you to be nice, but because it’s what makes the world better. ****Where Has Kindness Gone?**** In this digital age, kindness feels like a luxury. Social media is filled with critics ready to tear others down. Picture this: someone posts a picture online, and instead of a compliment or encouragement, the first comment they see is something like, “You’re ugly.” And who writes such things? Most times, it’s from faceless trolls who wouldn’t dare say such words in real life. What’s worse is the common advice given to victims: “Grow a thick skin.” While it’s good to build resilience, why not address the root problem—the trolls themselves? Often, people who insult others struggle with their own insecurities and project their pain onto others. ****Words Can Heal or Destroy**** Many people use social media as a safe space to escape life’s challenges. It’s heartbreaking that instead of finding joy, they encounter negativity and harsh criticisms. Some might say, “*Don’t post your pictures if you can’t handle the insults.” B*ut why should anyone have to hide who they are because others choose to be mean? This behavior reflects how far society has fallen in terms of empathy and decency. A simple kind word could make a world of difference to someone battling depression or loneliness. ****Let’s Choose Kindness**** As I close, I leave you with this thought: “**Be kind to someone today—it could change their life.”** You never know the struggles people are facing, and a little kindness can go a long way. Here’s a quote to reflect on: "*Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see." – Mark Twain* Remember, the world becomes brighter when we choose kindness over cruelty. Let’s make the internet—and life—a safer, kinder space for everyone.

Very well said, I agree , that kindness nowadays is missing to some , but not totally because there are still those who practiced kindness somehow.
True İ agree but most people are still unkind on the Internet.
Yes, most, and sad to say it seems it is a trend in the internet. Is there not a way to censored it so that the younger generations of today won't do the same?
It's actually not easy to censor the Internet. A lot of people would kick against it. However I think the first step should be educating people about the necessity of kindness and asides from that whenever someone makes silly deameaning comments, we shouldn't have people praising him/her in the replies, it isn't possible to totally stop bad comments but at least we could reduce it to the barest minimum
