Short story: The Comic Adventure at the Free Software Convention

It was a sunny spring day when Carlos, a young university student passionate about technology, decided to attend a free software convention with his friends, Ana and Tomás. His goal was to learn more about Linux and, of course, have some fun. Upon arriving at the event venue, a Moderna convention center in the heart of the city, they felt excited and anxious about what was waiting for them. Carlos, with his tousled brown hair and black-rimmed glasses, was always ready to learn something new. Ana, with her long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, was the most organized of the group and always carried a notebook and a pen to take notes. Tomás, the joker of the group, had blond hair cut in the military style and a smile that could light up any room. Upon entering the main room, decorated with open source flags and screens displaying Linux distribution logos, Carlos exclaimed, "This is like a nerd fest! I love it!". Anna smiled and replied, "Yes, but we will learn a lot here. Also, I've heard that there will be a session on computer security that we can't miss." Tomas, who was always joking, added: "And maybe we will find the girl of our dreams... or at least someone to explain to us what a kernel is without us falling asleep." The talks started with "El Linuxero Loco", a Linux expert who showed up with a top hat and an exaggerated mustache. He was a tall, thin man, wearing a three-piece suit that looked like it had been made in the Victorian era. "Welcome, friends! Today we are going to talk about the history of Linux. Sofia, the organizer of the event, chimed in with a smile. She was a young woman with reddish hair cut at shoulder height and a T-shirt that said "GNU/Linux Forever". "Good point, Tom. But seriously, security is crucial. Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve it?", he asked as he looked around the room. Ana raised her hand and said, "I think education is key. In addition, we should encourage community collaboration to develop more robust solutions." The group applauded his response. Later, during the practical Linux installation sessions, Carlos encountered difficulties in configuring his system. "The Crazy Linuxero" came up to him and said, "Don't worry, friend. Installing Linux is like making a pizza. You can customize it to your liking, but if you make a mistake, you will be left with a disaster." Carlos laughed and replied, "Well, I hope my pizza doesn't burn." "The Crazy Linuxero" smiled and added: "Don't worry, I'll teach you how to make a perfect pizza... or at least, a functional operating system." At the end of the day, the friends gathered to reflect on what they had learned. Tomás said: "I really liked it, but I think I need more practice not to burn my pizza... I mean, my operating system." Ana smiled and added: "We will definitely come back next year. And who knows, maybe we'll find that girl who can explain the kernel to us." Carlos laughed and concluded: "And maybe 'El Linuxero Loco' will teach us how to make perfect pizzas! In addition, I have learned a lot about the importance of the community in the development of free software." The convention ended with laughter and applause, and the friends went home promising to continue exploring the fascinating world of free software. And, of course, hoping that next time, the pizzas would turn out perfect. As they were walking towards the subway, Tomás said, "You know what would be great? Create a free software project together. We could do something innovative." Ana and Carlos looked at each other and nodded. "Let's do it!", they exclaimed in unison. And so, his adventure in the world of free software had just begun.
