## Chapter 3: Global Crises While the group was secretly planning, the streets of Neo-Eden erupted in protests. Giant screens broadcast alarming news of devastating wars in Europe and a food crisis sweeping the global south. Food insecurity had become a hot-button issue, exacerbated by conflicts and the climate crisis affecting millions of people. In his sustainable engineering workshop, Maya's father Kofi watched the news with concern alongside Leila: - Kofi (to Leila): Did you see the report? Hydroponic crops failed in Sector 5. People are desperate. This could get worse if we don't find solutions quickly.   - Leila (painting a mural): Neo-Eden was a dream... but dreams without justice turn into nightmares. * [points to his work]* Look: I portrayed the excluded, the ones no one sees. Let's use "The Dragonfly" to create parallel networks and secure them basic access while we look for a more permanent solution. The group knew that they had to act fast to prevent more suffering among the marginalized and protect their fundamental human rights in the face of the social and economic collapse increasingly evident in Neo-Eden. Chapter 4: The Price of Freedom The operation was extremely risky, but the goal was worth it. While Jax and Alexei were working deep in the sewers, installing hidden servers that would be the backbone of their underground network, Leti and Maya were on another front, teaching the outcasts how to use blockchain wallets equipped with QR codes tattooed on their skin. These tattoos were not just a symbol; they were a crucial tool to access funds without leaving a digital trace. Leti approached an elderly woman with tired but hopeful eyes. He showed her a small device that looked like an advanced eye lens. - Leti: Scan this symbol with your eye lens. Their children will receive food without the government knowing. The woman looked at the QR code in disbelief before slowly scanning it. Tears started to well up as he watched the transaction being confirmed on his personal device. - Woman (with tears): Thank you... but what will happen if we are discovered? The answer came the next dawn, when police drones surrounded the sector like an invisible army. Lena was arrested on charges of "digital terrorism", screaming while being taken: - Lena: Don't let them turn off the Dragonfly! The network is stronger than them! Maya, hiding in a nearby tunnel, urgently whispered to her communicator: - Maya: It doesn't end here. * [presses a pendrive with the network data]* Neo-Eden will wake up... even if it costs us the daylight. With these words he sealed the fate of the group and assured that their struggle for freedom would continue beyond the dangerous present.
