This is an air plant given to me and my sister on one of our visits in my Uncle's place. (Photos taken different times.) My Uncle's wife is a nice lady, when we noticed her unique plants, she's given us a piece. It started as green then slowly turning to red. Now that it turned red in color, I am in great anticipation to see flowers pretty soon. I never have seen it flowered before and by the look of it, it must be coming soon. How exciting. I just need to be patient. Few infos that I found out about air plants: *they will not grow in soil. * they use their roots to attach themselves to things like tree branches rather than to absorb nutrients. They are epiphytes. *they also need sunlight. *they can't live on air alone. *they will tell us when they need more or less water *and apparently, they will flower only once a lifetime.
