Why Human Development Is Essential For Me As A Future Educator?
Human development is a branch of psychology with an aim to understand people. This is also considered as the process of developing people's abilities and their progress in life. And, since human development is really complicated, we need to study it to not misunderstood the human's life. Aside from that, it helps an individual to understand themselves—to identify their problems and to acknowledge their own growth. Moreover, it also helps the people to know their relationship and responsibilities in their society and helps one another to appreciate and value capabilities in life.
Furthermore, since human development tackles the growth of a baby to becoming an adult, this can literally help an individual to understand how their childhood experiences shaped them as a matured and grown person. This could also make them fully understand the reason behind as why the exist.
In addition, as a future educator, I am bound to know and meet diverse individuals in the future. Studying human development will help me to meet their needs and not misunderstood their behavior. This could also make a harmonious relationship between me and to my future learners. And through this, it could help my future students in self-discovery as an individual and as a member of the society. And, it is more necessary for me to learn and how I would appreciate and approach them as they are different with one another and what type of teaching approach should I do to make them fully understand the lesson that I am going to teach. Moreover, as a member of a society myself and as society and it members change rapidly, I have to study it to know what responsibilities could I provide to the society. Another thing, knowing the human development helps to identify if someone is undergoing and/or living with developmental disabilities. With this, it will help someone to identify what type of approach they should apply to assist them
Therefore, human development is really essential in understanding an individual—its purpose, struggles, and character. Also, it helps us learn how an individual able to learn and adapt its surroundings despite the struggles that it faces everyday in their life and how challenges help them learn the circle of life.
Getting to Know 'Marilaaaag': An Introductory Post
*Marilag was deprived from a Filipino word which means 'beautiful', 'exquisite', or 'aesthetic'*.
**Background Story of My Nickname 'Marilaaaag'**
Way back 2019, I was thinking of an appropriate name for my art facebook page and since I am really fond of deep meaningful Filipino words that time, I have chosen Marilag because its meaning is really meant for what I want my arts would look like. I want it to be seen as beautiful, no matter how or what mistakes in details it had. I am a second year College student in Polytechnic University of the Philippines and currently taking Bachelor of Education, major in English. **Likes and Dislikes**
As a normal person, I literally almost like everything. I just like admiring a lot. Moreover, when it comes to something that I eat, you can give me anything, but don't include liver—I just hate its taste—and dinuguan (It came from the Filipino root word 'dugo' or blood) or anything that contains blood, since I am an Iglesia Ni Cristo member, it is prohibited to eat it. Nonetheless, I am really fond of animals, especially cats (I currently have four cats). Before, I actually hate dogs because of my phobia, but I am now starting to love them. I also love pink—especially if its the color of the sky, green and red leaves of trees, blue ocean—especially how it shines when the moon reflects, and many more that life could offer.
**Hobbies**
As I have mentioned above, I do make arts—I create calligraphy, I sketch and paint. Aside from those, I also watch Kdrama and movies with different genre—may it be local or international. I somehow write, especially if I am really in the right mood. I also read books (but I am now currently losing my passion here, sad). And lastly, I sing—even though singing really hates me, but I love Taylor Swift anyway. Oh, wait! I don't dance. **Goals and Dreams**
Since then, I really aspire to be a teacher. I wanted to teach in remote places and help the unprivileged children to learn and acquire enough knowledge for their future use. Moreover, since my love in cats are growing, especially in strays, I am now dreaming of having an animal shelter—where the neglected and abused animals could have their safe space that will give them their deserved love and care. Aside from those, I really wanted to grow my small business, so I could start building my own café—where customers are able to read their favorite book while playing with cats and dogs, since I am planning to include having library and animals so they have companion while enjoying and having some peace. Nonetheless, I really want to finish my studies first, because I still firmly believe that education is one of the best ways to success in life.

My Thoughts About the Movie 'Bridge to Terabithia'
Bridge to Terabithia is a modern fantasy book written by Katherin Paterson and was released as a Disney film in 2007. This story circling around two children—Jess and Leslie—who have made a great connection with each other. The story started when Jess wants to prove something for himself and for the people around him—especially his father, so he joined in a race and wanted to be the fastest among his classmates, but Leslie, their new transferee, win over him. So, he doesn't like Leslie at first, but they eventually end up becoming friends.
Moreover, their bonding got strong when they see a creek and called it as their own—Terabithia, where they are free to run their imagination—and when they encounter Janice Avery, the bully, they tried to get revenge but eventually learn that enemies should be treated with dignity.
However, their fate got twisted when Jess heard that Leslie is now gone. He cannot accept and process the terrible news but eventually learned the truth and decided to remember her by honoring their memories and how much he learned from Leslie. Then, he build a bridge to Terabithia to let his sister get into their fantasy world safely and to show that he still values Terabithia.
The author of the book has a great way to show to her readers that tragedy, joy, love, and grief happens no matter what is your age—even you are old or young. Terabithia is the magical and imaginary land created by Jess and Leslie.
In the book, Terabithia only exists in their minds. Unlike, other fantasylands that are described in fascinating details, the readers cannot actually see the land, but only the two main characters are able to perceive it. Moreover, the bridge can be explained as literal and metaphorical. Jess literally build the bridge, but the goal of it can be seen metaphorically as something that connects them from their imagination and an escape from their realities, it also signifies their solid friendship.
Moreover, the author used two different writing techniques to let readers feel the story and slowly peel the layers of the plot of the story. First is symbolism—the author used bridge to represent the whole meaning of the story. It symbolizes how Jess and Leslie are connected to each other and how it links them to their imagination away from their realities. Next one is foreshadowing. At the beginning of the story, Jes told Leslie that the creek are not safe for them, but Leslie still insists. Then, at the end of the story, Leslie died because he tried to crossed the creek using the rope.
Furthermore, Bridge to Terabithia is a great way to help adults learn that children are also able to feel different kind of emotions and are needy of their support when they're exploring what they really want and their presence is really important when a child is transitioning into adolescence.
My Thoughts About the Filipino Movie 'Seven Sundays'
***Seven Sundays*** is a Philippine comedy drama film wherein the plot is about the father who were diagnosed with lung cancer. He contacted his children about the news and they immediately run into him but they found out that he was just only diagnosed with TB infection. Moreover, aside from being ill, his grown-up children holds their own issue against each other and had to deal with it as they spend time together—every Sunday, specifically.
*Mr. Bonifacio* or the father was a typical old father that everyone had. He only wants to be with his children before he go to the other side. But, since his children are already grown-ups, they usually had no time for him because of their busy schedules. His first son, *Allan*, is somewhat regretful of the things that he had because he thinks that, as an eldest, he should be the most successful among this siblings but despite of that he is still grateful because he had a family that he can rely on. Next is, *Bryan*, the second son of Mr. Bonifacio, is the most successful. However, he still feel envious of his siblings since he had a son that he had no chance to, at least, hold him. The third one is, *Cha*, their only girl or what they called 'Princess', who only wants to have a partner like what her parents had. Ironically, she had one but not like them. She only settles with him for their children. And the last one is, *Dexter*, their youngest who only wants to be with them and feel their love, as what his mother feels to him. As this family continues to bond together, more things and problems are slowly showing up. They are finally seeing the another side of one another that are kept for so many years. However, despite of their own issues, they still managed to fix it through communicating and let go their grudge against each other. And, they now finally realized that the only thing no can surpass from them is their family.
This movie could really touch your heart, and also could make you laugh, while tears are still flowing. Moreover, it is also a very relatable film, especially the characters represent each members of the family in a normal household. As for me, I could relate to the character of Allan as I was born with responsibilities carrying on my shoulders and asking for help is really a rare option for me to choose, because I was expected to be strong and being weak is just becoming a loser.
Moreover, this movie shows that family is really significant in everyone's life. If one of the family member is having trouble, most of the family will be affected. Family describes our thinking and feelings. It shows the whole us and communication is very important to fully understand one another. Without this, it could really crack one's complete family and could create a big mess. *But, no matter how big the mess is, family is still a family and will always find ways to heal one another.*
