Myanmar, Shwedagon Pagoda - my journey through Asia The place is unbelievably beautiful, especially in the evening when all the buildings are illuminated. Although there were a lot of tourists, the place captivated. When traveling around Asia, my destination on the map has always been Burma, now Myanmar, which is the proper name for this country. For many years, this country was inaccessible to tourists, and when it opened up to tourism, people were reluctant to go there. The main reason was military rule, which has a bad image and does not give the impression of security and stability. Szwendagon is a huge complex of temples and pagodas that are mainly covered with gold paint. Even though several tons of gold were used to decorate the temples, most of the buildings are decorated only with imitation gold, which does not change the fact that it makes an amazing impression.
