One of my favourite kitchen tools, the mortar and pestle. Although an electric blender is available and would have made things much quicker, I find the action and flavours from pounding accentuates the taste and smell. And there is something about reaping what you sow, or in this case, tasting what you pound :)

Yes that is true. Just like cooking rice in a clay pot. More tasty than cooking it in metal pots.
