Love bodysurfing, and this movie is a rare one about it. Beautifully filmed, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. Absolutely worth a watch. Here’s the trailer (from YouTube) for “Hell Or High Water” https://youtu.be/JbVvTLHZFWo

My favorite episode so far. I’ve been told we just laugh throughout, but I don’t care cause it’s all for fun. If it doesn’t work on Anchor, it’s one Spotify and Stitcher as well. https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/Halloween-Special-e194vbt
We kept banging them out, despite our limited listenership, and I’m just linking back catalogue here for now. Once it's no longer any fun, we’ll probably stop, but so far it hasn’t stopped being fun https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/Road-Warriors-e19ou1h
We know not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, but we talked about it anyway. We’re not as international as we’d like to be, so this topic might not make any sense. It’s all good, though. We’re making progress through baby steps. https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/Thanksgiving-Buffet-e1ahcji
If you haven’t already seen the movie “Hereditary” you should check it out. It’s a slow burn horror film that picks up pace at the very end. Really well acted and beautifully shot. From the same director who made “Midsommar”, Ari Aster. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BOTU5MDg3OGItZWQ1Ny00ZGVmLTg2YTUtMzBkYzQ1YWIwZjlhXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAzMTY4MDA@._V1_.jpg
Sprinkling rain with the sun straining to come out. The winds blowing the opposite way as usual, brining in a chill. Atypical weather for here, but a welcome change of pace
Another conversation gone off the rails, but we had fun. We’ve been called “a laugh track podcast” and though that might’ve been meant as derogatory, we took it as a compliment. https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/The-return-of-the-Beef-Boys-e19q0j4
Stuck in traffic when I snapped this quick shot. The sun was trying to push through, but never quite made it. This cold front brought some good surf, though, which is nice. Too bad you can’t really see it in this photo.
For those of you with kids, and who like folksy Americana music, check out “The Okee Dokee Brothers”. They’ve got a couple movies they made into albums to go along with their other albums. It’s good music first, and kid friendly second. I genuinely love this song. Don’t even care that this is a kid’s band, although my punk younger self would be mortified. https://youtu.be/lNZMI3bmzN0
Nobody asked for more, but we made more anyway. It’s a labor of love. https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/If-you-are-what-you-eat-e1b9cqa
Leon Bridges is new school soul. I’ve only heard a handful of his songs, and only found out about him through listening to Khraungbin. This song is a banger that absolutely slaps. Dude is mad talented. https://youtu.be/kEvJSQwkC94
Fresh from its chrysalis and our critter cage onto some lavender. I waited a while for the sun to come out so this butterfly would open its wings to dry. Worth the wait! #owncontent #butterflies
Change of pace episode. Some of the audio is hard to hear, but talking to musicians who let us use their music is just grand. This podcast is on all kinds of platforms (Spotify, Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, etc) https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/1213---Long-Live-Rock-e1b5ise
This book is a fantastic read. It’s basically a transcript of four exceptionally well-educated & smart people having a conversation about logic & reason vs faith & superstition. Almost a book in defense of atheism.
Beautiful little shell I found walking the beach this morning. That’s about as big as I’ve been able to find them around the rocks. Pretty pretty
A little sunny and a little cloudy. The haze burned off after a little while and this cleared up even more, but duty called and I had to run errands. Still, ‘twas a pretty morning.
Early evening stroll along the rocks. It’d been rainy the last few weeks so this was a welcome return to more normal weather. The Mokulua Islands in the distance looked crisper with the naked eye
He’eia Pier. After a morning of volunteer work cleaning up some brush, weeding and planting native plants, we got this view. Just gorgeous.
https://anchor.fm/johnny912/episodes/Happy-Holidays-From-Heavy-Edit-e1c1fqq Easily goes off the rails as soon as we started, but we wanted to do an end of the season holiday spectacular. Don’t know if it worked out, but here’s the final episode of season one.
