DCROPS: TIPS for Begginers + My DCROPS Fall Strategy ***Cover Image:*** *Logo image owned by Dcrops - Edit by @libertycrypto27 - Font used is Open Source* Today I want to share my progress inside the Dcrops game (on Hive Blockchain) and I want to try to help new players with tips and showing my buying and investing strategy on Dcrops. **Dcrops** (https://www.dcrops.com/) is a blockchain based farming game, it is an easy to play game and it is an Alpha version game so some features have been announced but not yet implemented (Quests). In the Dcrops game I play the role of a farmer and the goal of the game is to produce the most agricultural products using soil cards and seed cards (the NFTs of the game). In the Dcrops game, time is an important element and is marked by the seasons, which are the same as in the real world (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) but last only 15 days. The current season in the Dcrops game right now is **Autumn** which started only 1 day ago and will end in 14 days and 6 hours. In the previous season (summer) I got a reward of **2188 CROP tokens**. To get this reward I used a total of **33 seed cards** (image below). In the Dcrops game, I'm still in the investment phase so I decided to use the reward I got over the summer to buy a pack of cards. To buy a pack of cards, you must first transfer CROP tokens to the Hive Engine wallet (https://hive-engine.com/) and then you can buy packs of cards from the **SHOP** section of the Dcrops website. Each pack contains 5 cards and in each card pack at least one card is of rare type or higher. Let's see what I found in the card pack right now. I could have been luckier but I'm happy because I found 3 rare cards and 2 common cards. The Cauliflower and Wheat cards are seed cards that I can't use in the current season while the Carrot card and the two Pumpkin cards are cards that can be used in the current season and so they are cards that will be added to the seed cards I have already planted in my plots on the first day of the autumn season. Until now and in all the seasons of the game of Dcrops I have invested in the purchase of seed cards to be able to use all the plots I own. I have set a limit to my investment on Dcrops: **100 HIVE**. So far I have invested a total of **70.83 HIVE**. The investment of 70.83 HIVE has allowed me to have a card collection consisting of a total of **140 NFT** from the game of Dcrops. I have a total of **17 Land** cards: - 3 Awesome Land (3 plots) - 4 Fertile Land (2 plots) - 10 Average Farmland (1 plots) I have a total of **123 seed cards:** - 44 seed cards usable in the winter season. - 33 seed cards that can be used in the spring season. - 34 seed cards that can be used in the summer season. - 12 seed cards that can be used in the current season, the fall season. My Land cards allow me to plant a total of 27 seed cards at once, so I only have 12 plots occupied and 15 plots free this early in the season. I have decided to go back to the Dcrops marketplace to purchase more seed cards. There are 5 seed cards that can be used in the fall season and therefore I have 5 possibilities to buy them. Raspberry card The most expensive card is obviously the legendary Raspberry card which has a **special ability**: **it has no cooldown period** and can be used continuously throughout the fall season. The Raspberry card produces **4 agricultural products** every three days whose selling price is **7 Share points** per product. Because the season lasts 15 days, this card can be used 4 times and allows you to get a minimum of **28 Share points** every three days for a **minimum seasonal total of 112 Share points**. A very good card that however has one big flaw: the very high purchase price. There are only 6 Raspberry cards for sale on the Dcrops marketplace and the lowest price is **19 SWAP.HIVE**. Beetroot card The **Beetroot** card is an epic card and has the special ability to increase the **probability of collecting multiple products by +25%**. The Beetroot card has a cooldown period that does not allow you to use it multiple times during the fall season. It produces **5 agricultural products** every 10 days whose selling price is **14 Share points** per individual product. This card allows you to get a **minimum seasonal amount of 70 Share points**. It costs about 1/3 less than the legendary Raspberry card: **6.7 SWAP.HIVE**. Pumpkin card The Pumpkin card is the only rare card that can be used during the fall season. I found two such cards inside the card pack I opened today. It has no special abilities and has a production time of 12 days. After 12 days of cultivation it produces **1 agricultural product** only which has a selling price of **24 Share points**. The Pumpkin card has a market price of **1.85 SWAP.HIVE**. Carrot card The Carrot card is one of two common cards that can be used during the fall season. The Carrot card produces **1 agricultural product** in 7 days, and since the season lasts 15 days in a single plot, a maximum of two Carrot cards can be used during the entire fall season. The product from the Carrot card has a selling price of **14 Share points**. On the Dcrops market there is a single Carrot card at the price of 0.85 SWAP.HIVE and then the price rises to **0.999 SWAP.HIVE**. Garlic card The last card that can be used during the fall season in the game of Dcrops is the **Garlic** card. The Garlic card is a common card and each individual card can only be used once during the season due to the cooldown period. The Garlic card produces **2 agricultural products** in a time of 7 days and since the season lasts 15 days a maximum number of two Garlic cards can be used per available plots during the season. The product from the Garlic card has a selling price of **7 Share points** and each card, producing two products, allows to get a minimum of **14 Share points**. On the Dcrops marketplace, the lowest price is **0.999 SWAP.HIVE**. What cards to buy? My buying strategy Since I decided not to exceed a total investment cost in the game of Dcrops of 100 HIVE I have just under **30 HIVE to invest**. To choose which cards to buy I calculated the **SHARE POINTS/HIVE** ratio for each card. SHARE POINTS/HIVE Ratio **The SHARE/HIVE POINTS ratio tells me how many Share points I get for each HIVE token spent in the purchase of a seed card**. As you can see the cards that have the best SHARE/HIVE POINTS ratio are the common cards: **Carrot** and **Garlic**. Tips for new Dcrops players The advice and help that I want to give to a new player who decides to sign up on Dcrops is to calculate the SHARE POINTS/HIVE ratio for each card before making the purchase. Often the player who approaches a farming game for the first time buys cards looking only at the characteristics of a single card without doing all the necessary calculations. To show the importance of the Share/HIVE points ratio I will make a simple and practical example. Let's take as example three possible purchases of a player: 1. **purchase of a Land card (Average Farmland) + purchase of a Raspberry legendary card**. 2. **purchase of one Land (Average Farmland) card + purchase of two Garlic common cards**. 3. **purchase of 4 Land cards (average Farmland) + purchase of 8 Garlic community cards**. Purchase case 1: Average Farmland + Raspberry The player who buys one **Averange Farmland** and one **Raspberry** card manages to produce **112 Share points** in one season and spends a total of **20.13 SWAP.HIVE** (using current market prices). Purchase case 2: Average Farmland + 2 Garlic cards The player who buys one **Average Farmland** and two **Garlic** cards spends a total of **3.11 HIVE** and will produce **28 Share points** during the fall season. Looking only at the Share points the player who buys the legendary card Raspberry would seem to be the one who made the best choice because he will get a better ranking but instead he is the player who made the worst choice. Purchase case 3: 4 Average Farmland cards + 8 Garlic cards Who buys 1 Average Farmland + Raspberry card spends 20.13 HIVE and produces 112 Share points. Who buys 4 Average Farmland + 8 Garlic cards spends 12.44 SWAP.HIVE and produces 112 Share points. The first player **spent almost 8 more SWAP.HIVE** to produce the same number of Share points (112) as the player who bought 4 Average Farmland and 8 Garlic cards! This simple example shows how important it is in a farming game to always do the calculations before buying a card and how **important in the Dcrops game to calculate the Share Points/HIVE ratio**. My purchases To fill my 15 free plots I purchased: - **6 Carrot cards** at a price of **0.849 SWAP.HIVE** per card (the price dropped slightly at the time of purchase). - **9 Garlic** cards for the price of **0.999 SWAP.HIVE** per card. I have spent a total of **14,085 SWAP.HIVE** (5,094+8,991) Now I have all my plots occupied even if in 7 days I will have to evaluate new purchases because I will have free plots again. With the purchases I have made today the total cost of my investment grows again and goes up to **84.91 HIVE**. From next season I will have finished the first phase of my investment on Dcrops and I will proceed to the optimization phase of my card collection and I will start planning to reach the **break-even point**. After a first investment phase, reaching the break-even point is an important goal and it's part of the strategy I follow in every farming game I decided to play because, even if Dcrops is a game I like, I consider all farming games as investments before considering them as games. I hope you liked this post and, if you like, follow me to read my future posts and reports on Dcrops ;) **Important Note:** **Dcrops more than a game is an investment and mainly as such should be considered**. In every kind of investment there is always a **risk factor** to evaluate and consider. **I am not a financial advisor and my post does not want to be in any way an invitation to invest on Dcrops but it is just the analysis and sharing of my personal investment on Dcrops on July 29, 2021.** My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart! How to Claim SPS tokens + My Firs Airdrop: 101$ in one Day! ***Cover Image:*** *Logo owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* The long-awaited day has finally arrived for all Splinterlands players: **the first day of the airdrop of the Splinterlands governance tokens**, the Splintershards (SPS) tokens. The **SPS** tokens are **BEP-20 tokens** (standard tokens of the Binance Smart Chain) and with their creation Splinterlands enters also in the Binance Smart Chain and the value of the SPS token has already reached a really surprising value that has exceeded my highest expectations: **1 SPS = 0.928$**. From my first day of the Splinterlands airdrop I have received **109,483 SPS** tokens whose approximate value is **$101.59.** **WOW $101.59 in one day!** I had to crinkle my eyes when I saw this value! :) Obviously this value will not be constant because it will depend on the sum of the scores obtained daily by all players of Splinterlands. In fact, the Splinterlands team has assigned each asset in the Splinterlands game a specific score (see image below). How to make the SPS token claim If you are a Splinterlands player and you have not yet displayed your score and have not yet claimed your SPS tokens, I will explain how to do it. **Step 1:** After logging in on the Splinterlands site you must click on the blue box with a picture of a white-yellow gem inside, as indicated by the arrow in the following image. **Step 2:** In the next screen, in the box on the right you must click on the green buttons with the words **CLAIM** obviously only if above the button you have a value greater than 0.000. **Important note:** if you have Splinterlands assets on other blockchains than Hive that were not considered in the calculation of your score you must first connect your wallets to the Splinterlands game by clicking on **Manage Wallets** as indicated by the arrow in the following image. On the next screen you need to enter all your wallet addresses. That's it, now in the screen on the left you will see the number of SPS tokens you have received and their approximate value. The operations on SPS tokens There are 4 operations you can perform on your SPS tokens: - GET SPS - ACTIVITY - TRANSFER - STAKE GET SPS If you click on the GET SPS button you can buy SPS tokens from the exchanges shown in the following image. Alternatively you can also buy SPS tokens from Hive Engine (https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=SPS) Activity If you click on the **ACTIVITY** button you will see a report with all your claims sorted by date TRANSFER If you click on the **TRANSFER** button, a screen will open from which you can transfer SPS tokens. There are four possible options: - Binance Smart Chain (Transfer In and Transfer Out) - Hive Engine (Transfer In and Transfer Out) - To player STAKE If you click on the STAKE button a screen will open from which you can put all or part of your SPS tokens into staking to get an additional reward (also in SPS tokens). However, the staking feature is not yet active and will be active as of August 2, 2021. My score In the image below you can see my score which allowed me to get 109 SPS tokens from the first of 365 airdrops that will follow day by day. Conclusion SPS tokens have taken the Splinterlands game to another level. Active players are increasing rapidly as in-game transactions have increased. **All Splinterlands game assets continue to grow in value.** With the arrival and distribution of SPS tokens, Splinterlands has added a new way to reward its players in addition to all of the other revenue possibilities that already exist: - DEC tokens (for each victory in battle) - Daily rewards: Cards, Potions and DEC tokens (Daily Missions) - End of season rewards: Cards, Potions and DEC tokens (every 15 days) - Weekly Contests (upvotes on the Hive blockchain) - Trivia Challenge - Giveaway - SPT tokens (publishing content about Splinterlands on the Hive blockchain) I decided to keep the SPS tokens I received and so I won't sell them at least for the moment, because I'm a Holder by nature and I still see a lot of potential in the Splinterlands game. What have you decided to do with the SPS tokens? Are you going to keep them and put them into staking or are you going to sell them? I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) You're not a Splinterlands player? **Splinterlands is a beautiful game and it has proved to be a very good investment (at least until now) and if you participate regularly to the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recover the registration cost (10$) in few weeks.** If you decide to register, you can do it from this link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link.... :) Any game that allows the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but is also an investment and should be considered as such. I am not a financial advisor and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice and at your own risk. A little bird to save! Today when I left the office where I work in the morning I had a tender encounter. In the parking lot across from the office there was a small bird standing still and unmoving in the middle of the street right where the cars come in and out. I walked over and the little bird didn't move an inch. It didn't look very good because its legs were slightly spread apart. I had only two choices: - pretend nothing happened and go home - pick up that little bird and bring it back to my house. In the parking lot where I met the little bird there are many cats. The chances of survival were therefore zero or very close to zero. By not moving the little bird would have ended up under a car or become a cat's meal. I quickly discarded the first option and picked up the bird, laid it in a cardboard box I had in the trunk of my car, put the box on the passenger seat next to me and headed for my house. When I got home I was greeted by the happiness of my daughter who is 7 years old and as soon as she saw the bird she started jumping around. When my daughter is excited and happy she jumps :) I got a bigger cardboard box and put the bird in that cardboard box. I took a syringe, removed the needle and filled it with water. I slipped a drop of water near the bird's beak and it immediately opened its mouth to drink. Poor little bird was definitely dehydrated. I didn't know what kind of bird it was, it couldn't fly so it was a chick but I didn't know what species it was. I downloaded an app on my phone to recognize the species by its chirping and the app returned the following result: **Jackdaw**. To be sure, I also called a friend of mine who I know is passionate about birds and seeing the photo she told me that the bird I had saved was not a jackdaw but a **blackbird**. I trusted the answer of my friend and I hope that the users of the community Feathered Friends can give me further confirmation or, why not, even denial. I immediately tried to give the bird something to eat: a crumb of bread that I wet with a drop of water but the bird did not seem to want to open its mouth. After a few attempts, my daughter and I noticed that when we moved the box, the bird opened its mouth immediately. Perhaps, I thought, the mother when she arrived at the nest with food for her young, resting on the nest, moved the nest in much the same way. The baby bird started to eat and soon after was standing perfectly on its two legs. It was hopping and chirping: a real songbird :) In the afternoon I went to a pet store and the owner gave me a protein gruel to dilute in water. Now the bird seems to have recovered and seems to be doing much better. **What to do now?** My daughter would like to keep him but I live in an apartment and I don't want a wild bird to live in a cage for the rest of its life, unhappy and against nature, just to satisfy my daughter's desire. If I lived in a house with a garden, I could have built an aviary and set it free as soon as it learned to fly, and this would have been a viable choice, but not optimal for the bird. Among other things, being so small, it could mistake us as its parents and when it is free to fly it could be in danger if it were to meet humans who are not very "human". The right decision is only one and it is one I have made before, two years ago, for another small flier in need: a **baby bat**. In July 2019, a small bat came onto the veranda of my house at night and, poor thing, got stuck inside a cardboard box I kept on the veranda. The unfortunate bat got stuck with its wings glued to a strip of glue that was on the edge of the cardboard I kept on my veranda. There was no way we could remove the wings of the little bat because the glue was very strong and also because we were afraid that the wings might tear. So I cut out the cardboard and made many phone calls to veterinarians, WWF and various associations, but they were no help: they refused to take the bat because it was an animal that was not their responsibility. At that point my wife, daughter and I took the little bat to the police station in my city. One of those policemen was really fond of bats (what a luck) and with a lot of patience and delicacy he detached the wings from the glue and freed the bat. After signing the report of the incident, the policemen reassured me that they would take the little bat to the Wildlife Rescue Center. And that's why this time, strengthened by past experience, I know exactly what to do and where to take the little blackbird chick I found this morning. Tomorrow I will take the little bird to the Wildlife Recovery Center in my region. The problem is that the Center for Wild Animal Recovery closest to my home is 50 km away but that's okay because it will be an opportunity to take a nice trip out of town. But above all it will be another opportunity to teach my daughter **that animals, especially if they are wild, are not toys and we cannot keep them in cages, but they must be respected as we must always respect every small living being, especially if they are in a state of difficulty.** And you, dear reader, what would you have done in my place? *All photos in this post are my property* **Follow me also on:** Twitter: **https://twitter.com/libertycrypto27** Publish0x: **https://www.publish0x.com/libertycrypto27?a=MYervALeOB** Hive: **https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/posts** NoiseCash: **https://noise.cash/u/libertycrypto27**

Untamed Packs: Estimated Value, Expected Profit and 10 packs of cards opened ***Cover Image****: Logo and Card images owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* The value of Splinterlands cards continues to grow and consequently the estimated value of all Alpha, Beta, Orb, Untamed and Dice card packs continues to grow as well. On May 31, 2021, I bought 100 packs of Untamed cards from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website and received a total of 110 packs (10 bonus packs). I spent 200000 DEC tokens and paid $1.65 for each pack of cards. When I bought the 110 packs of cards the estimated value of each pack of Untamed cards was $2.32 (using 5 alchemical potions and 5 legendary potions per pack). At the time of my purchase the difference between estimated value and purchase price was positive and was +$0.66755. 15 days ago (July 3, 2021) the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards was even higher: $ 3,081 Today the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards has practically doubled: - $6,069 (according to the calculations of the website https://peakmonsters.com/) - 6.005$ (according to the calculations of the site https://www.splintercards.com/) These values confirm the goodness of my choice of purchase on May 31 and in fact according to today's value of the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards my expected profit for the packs that I have yet to open is $ 4.35255 Thanks to the daily rewards and the Splinterlands end of season reward I received on July 15, I have collected enough potions to open 10 card packs. I still have 42 card packs to open and I will only open them when I collect more potions totally free from completing Splinterlands missions. Before showing the cards I found in the last 10 card packs I opened I want to calculate the expected profit of an Untamed card pack bought and opened today to be useful to those of my readers who are planning to buy an Untamed card pack. Today you can no longer buy Untamed card packs from the Splinterlands website but you can buy them from external marketplaces such as HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex or Atomic Hub (WAX). On Hive Engine the cost of a pack of Untamed cards is rising sharply as the graph in the image below shows unequivocally. On July 3 a pack of Untamed cards was available for purchase at a price of 9.97 HIVE = 3.39977$. Today July 18 a pack of Untamed cards is priced at 18.7 HIVE = $5.72 Whoever buys a pack of cards today from Hive Engine has a positive but small expected profit: $0.28 Now I'll show you the cards I found in the 10 packs of Untamed cards I opened in the previous days. The total value of the cards I found inside the card packs is $26.86 (using market prices) As you can see from the calculations in the following image, from opening 10 packs of Untamed cards I made a profit of $10.33 I got an actual profit slightly lower than the expected profit. 10 packs of cards is very little to expect the estimated value to be an accurate value. The estimated value of a Splinterlands card pack is not a certain value and becomes increasingly reliable and accurate when card packs are greater than 500 units. 10 packs of cards is too small a number and it is difficult for the expected profit value to be close to the real profit value and luck plays a decisive role... But if instead of buying the 10 packs of cards on May 31 I had bought them today for $5.72 each what would have been my result? I would have had a nice loss: - $30.34 This shows even more how the estimated value is not a certain value but just estimated and it is a value that looks at large purchase numbers and long term. I am very happy with the profit I made from opening the last 10 packs of cards I opened. I still have 42 packs of cards to open and I decided to open them all but since I have few alchemical and legendary potions available and I do not intend to buy them I will have to wait a few more days. Based on the current prices of the Untamed card packs I would buy card packs from other collections where the expected profit is higher but this will be the topic of my next post where I will calculate and compare the expected profit of the card packs of the various collections. I hope you liked this post and thank you for reading and taking the time to read it :) You're not a Splinterlands player? **Splinterlands is a beautiful game and it has proved to be a very good investment (at least until now) and if you participate regularly to the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recover the registration cost (10$) in few weeks.** If you decide to register, you can do it from this link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link.... :) Any game that allows the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but is also an investment and should be considered as such. My End-of-season considerations + my end-of-season reward ***Cover Image:*** *Logo and Card images owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* July 15, 2021 marked the end of another season of my favorite blockchain-based game: **Splinterlands**. The one that just ended is my 43 season of Splinterlands. For several seasons now I have been following my own strategy of renting cards from the Peakmonsters market on the last two days of the season with the goal of increasing my power score and trying to finish the season in the Splinterlands Champion leagues. The last two days of the season I was able to try the new in-game rental system of Splinterlands and I must say that I found it very good. For the rental I used the Rentals section of the Peakmonsters website which immediately adapted to the new system. Renting from the Peakmonsters site is much easier and faster because there are so many filters available that make the whole rental process much more efficient. Lately there have been added other very useful filters that allow you to filter the cards by level and so the next time I rent cards I will do the whole operation in even less time. If you use to rent Splinterlands cards my advice is to use Peakmonsters website (https://peakmonsters.com/). My End-of-season considerations My goal for several seasons of Splinterlands is to finish the season at least in Champion III league. My starting point was the Gold I league, a rating score of 2767 points and a power score of 270000 points. For the second season in a row I failed to reach my minimum goal and had to settle for finishing the season in the Diamond I league. Still, I came very close to my goal because my highest rating score was 3673 points and I was only 27 points away from the Champion III league. I finished the season at position number 216 in the Diamond league leaderboard and with a rating score of 3336 points. Compared to the previous season I played 16 fewer battles but slightly improved my win rate from 50.67% to 51.83%. The Power score of my card collection allows me to reach the Diamond III league at most. In order to have the possibility to access the Champion III league I rented some cards. In the following list you can see all the cards I have rented since the penultimate day before the end of the season: 1. - Maggots ★ 10 2. - Undead Badger ★ 10 3. - Caladuum ★ 4 4. - Failed Summoner ★ 10 5. - Lightning Dragon ★ 4 6. - Diamond Dragon ★ 3 7. - Chromatic Dragon ★ 4 8. - High Priest Darius ★ 4 9. - Tortisian Chief ★ 6 10. - Truthspeaker ★ 8 11. - Red Dragon ★ 4 12. - Sacred Unicorn ★ 3 13. - Magnor ★ 2 14. - Frost Giant ★ 4 15. - Naga Warrior ★ 4 16. - Water Elemental ★ 8 17. - Electric Eels ★ 7 18. - Feasting Seaweed ★ 10 19. - Sabre Shark ★ 10 20. - Albatross ★ 6 21. - iceratops ★ 10 22. - Javelin Thrower ★ 7 23. - Kron the Undying ★ 4 24. - Silvershield Assassin ★ 8 25. - Silvershield Knight ★ 10 26. - Feral Spirit ★ 8 27. - Skeleton Assassin ★ 7 28. - The Vigilator ★ 4 29. - Lord Arianthus ★ 3 30. - War Chaang ★ 6 31. - Prismatic Energy ★ 8 32. - Hobgoblin ★ 6 33. - Elven Cutthroat ★ 8 34. - Grumpy Dwarf ★ 8 35. - Kobold Miner ★ 8 36. - Exploding Dwarf ★ 10 37. - Spark Pixies ★ 7 38. - Fire Demon ★ 6 39. - Alric Stormbringer ★ 7 40. - Lyanna Natura ★ 7 41. - Owster Rotwell ★ 8 42. - Kretch Tallevor ★ 6 43. - Delwyn Dragonscale ★ 10 I rented a total of 43 cards (5 summoner cards and 38 monster cards). The cards I rented allowed me to achieve a Power score of 688000 points. I spent a total of 1923,686 DEC tokens. Today July 17, 2021 the value of 1923,686 DEC tokens is $2.71 (Highest Bid on Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex). Despite going over the rental budget I set for myself ($2.2) I didn't reach my goal. The most expensive card I rented was the **Red Dragon** card, Level 4 which I rented for one day only and for which I spent 85 DEC tokens. Like the previous one, this last season was not very positive in terms of my gaming goals. Will it at least have been positive financially? My end of season reward For finishing the season in Diamond I league I received **60 chests**. In the following image you can see the cards I found inside the 60 chests. I found **17 cards** out of **60 chests**. The chests can contain three types of rewards: **Cards, DECs, Potions**. The probability of finding a card in each chest is exactly 1/3, so I was slightly unlucky because I found a below average number of cards: 17 cards instead of 20 (60/3= 20). I found: - **11 common cards** - **3 rare cards**, - **3 epic cards** (1 summoner card), - **no legendary cards** - **no gold cards** The most valuable card I found is the Kretch Tallevor summoner card which has a market value of **$1.2** and a **DEC** conversion value of **200**. Over the next few days I will be looking to optimize my card collection: - sell cards that I don't use in battle - I will buy cards useful in battle or cards to upgrade cards that I already have in my card collection. The total value of the cards I found inside the chests is **4,191 $** DEC and Potions I also found **16 Potions** and a total of **6974 DEC tokens**. Based on the current value of DEC tokens (July 17, 2021), **6974 DEC** equals the value of **32.08 HIVE** (Highest BID on LeoDex/HiveEngine) The dollar value of **6974 DEC** tokens is **$9.82** Conclusion Now I'm going to do some calculations to determine the total value of my seasonal reward net of the rental costs I incurred: - total card rental cost: **2.71 $** - total value of the cards found in the chests: **4,191 $** - total value of DEC tokens found in chests: **9.82 $** After a long time, the value of the total amount of DEC tokens I found inside the chests exceeds the total value of the cards I received as rewards. Even though I spent more from the card rental than the previous season I close with a profit slightly lower than the previous season. I made a profit of **- $2.71 + $4.191 + $9.82** = **+$11,301** (previous season: +$11,618). I didn't find any legendary cards or gold cards inside the chests but I'm still happy with the reward I received. I'm also happy to have found 16 potions because I have 47 packs of Untamed cards still to be opened and that I haven't opened yet because I didn't have enough alchemical and legendary potions to use. I hope you liked this post and thank you for reading and taking the time to read it :) You're not a Splinterlands player? **Splinterlands is a beautiful game and it has proved to be a very good investment (at least until now) and if you participate regularly to the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recover the registration cost (10$) in few weeks.** If you decide to register, you can do it from this link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 >Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link.... :) Any game that allows the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but is also an investment and should be considered as such. Is Splinterlands a Good Investment? 20 Months Later ... ROI and Considerations ***Cover Image:*** *Logo image owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* The major difference between a traditional, centralized game and a blockchain-based game is that a traditional game only gives you fun while a blockchain game, in addition to fun, also allows you to gain ownership of game elements such as tokens and NFTs that you can sell, rent or buy. Splinterlands is my favorite blockchain based game and it's been more than 20 months since the day I decided to pay the $10 entry fee (October 19, 2019) and start my adventure in the world of blockchain based games. Splinterlands like all blockchain based games allows the purchase of tokens and NFT using various methods of purchase and for this reason is not only a game but also an **investment**. Every month I write a report in which I analyze Splinterlands only from a financial point of view and I calculate the ROI and any profit or loss that I have made so far. ***Note****: In the numbers in this report the comma "****,****" and the dot "****.****" are both decimal separators.* Below are the topics I will cover in this my 20th monthly report: Report Topics - **Final Result Previous Report** - **Evaluation of Splinterlands as Investment (after 20 months)** - Total Investment Cost - Total Revenue - Value of my card collection - Value of accumulated DEC tokens - Revenues from the sale of DEC tokens - Value of the Plots - Revenues from Farms DEC - BUSD LP (CubFinance) - **Profit/Loss Calculation** - **ROI Calculation** - **Final Considerations** - **Month by month history of my Splinterlands investment** - **But do those who sign up today still have a chance to make a good profit?** - Miscellaneous Considerations Final Result Previous Report The starting point for this report of mine on Splinterlands is the result I recorded in my previous monthly report https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/is-splinterlands-a-good-investment-19-months-later-d4f5b98a Since four months my profit and ROI continues to grow and in the following two images you can see the trend of Profit and ROI that I have achieved in 19 months (until May 27, 2021). Against an investment of $336 I got a total **profit** of **1239.77** and a **ROI** of **368.60%**. I've been really busy this month and didn't have time to do the calculations before so this report of mine is for a period longer than a month (45 days). I evaluate my investment on Splinterlands while writing my report and now it's time to see if I will have a positive or negative result compared to the previous report. Evaluation of Splinterlands as an Investment (after 20 months) To evaluate any investment you must always calculate and compare costs and revenues. Below I will calculate the total costs I have incurred to date and the total revenue I have earned to date. Total Cost of Investment The total cost of my investment on Splinterlands is given by the following sum: **Entry Cost (Starter Set: 10$) + Total Cost of Cards Purchased + Total Cost of DEC Purchased + Total Cost of Plots Purchased** From the date of my last report (May 27, 2021) and through today July 10, 2021: - I purchased, just before Sold Out, **100 packs of Untamed cards** from the Shop section of Splinterlands using **200000 DEC** tokens as my payment method. I received +10 free Untamed packs (bonus) and spent $1.65 per pack of cards with a total spend of **$181.7695** (1.65245 * 110). - I rented during the last days of the last 3 seasons of Splinterlands some cards from Peakmonsters market (https://peakmonsters.com/) and I spent in total: **6.03$** (1.99$ + 1.92$ + 2.12$). Since the date of my last report (May 27, 2021) I have spent a total of **$187.79**. The $187.79 produces an increase in the total cost of my Splinterlands investment which is now given by the following sum: total investment cost previous report + cost to purchase packs of Untamed cards + cost to rent cards for the season finale. **336.35$ + 187.79$ = 524.14$**. Revenues In the game of Splinterlands, revenues consist of: - the market value of the **Cards** that compose a collection of cards - the value obtained from the sale of the cards - the value of the **DEC** (Dark Energy Crystal) tokens accumulated and not reinvested. - the value obtained from the sale of **DEC** tokens. - the market value of the purchased plots. - The value obtained from the sale of the plots. - The value obtained from the use of DEC tokens in a Farm. How much are my cards worth? To know the total value in dollars of my cards collection I always use the useful tool of the **Peakmonsters** site (https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/collection) that inside the **Collection** section gives the calculation of the value of my cards collection. The peakmonsters site calculates the value of my collection based on two different prices: **Market Prices** and **List Prices**. To calculate the value of my card collection I always consider the lesser of: - the **total value** using **Market Prices**. - the **total value** using the **List Prices**. **Note:** In the calculation of revenues these two values are estimated values because both consider the case in which the cards are sold all at the prices indicated. In reality there are cards that are easier to sell and others that are less easy to sell (the cards that have a very high market price), but until now I have always managed to sell all the cards that I put on the market at the lowest market price. If I wanted to calculate the precise value of my collection of cards I would have to consider only the BID Price (the value immediately monetizable) for each card in my collection and the calculation would become very time consuming because my collection of cards is provided by 1717 cards (5059 BCX) and for this reason I am satisfied with an approximation. On March 26, 2021 my card collection had a value of **$819.63** (using Market prices) On May 3, 2021 my card collection had a value of **1164.44 $** (using Market prices) On May 27, 2021 my card collection had a value of **1349.09 $** (using Market prices) Today July 10, 2021 my card collection has a value of **2511.49 $** (using Market prices) In my previous report I had recorded an increase in value (**+ $184.65**) but in this report the increase is truly remarkable: **+$1162.4**. The cards of Splinterlands continue to increase their value especially the Legendary cards and the Gold cards. This increase in value is really extraordinary because it happened in about 45 days. Since the date of my last report I have invested $187 and I haven't even opened all the Untamed packs I have purchased: I still have 47 packs to open. There is also a bit of luck in this increase. Yesterday I participated in a giveaway organized on youtube by @hardrockcrypto and the great hiver @dexpartacus and I won a card of great value: Scarred LLama Mage (level 1) whose current value is **59.40$**. If you don't follow @dexpartacus and @hardrockcrypto I suggest you to follow them to be always updated on the news of our beloved crypto world. How much are the DEC tokens I have on my wallet worth? The **DEC** (Dark Energy Crystal) are the **Tokens** native of the game of Splinterlands, they are obtained as a reward for each battle won within the game and can be found inside the chests that you receive every day as a reward for the completion of daily missions and as a reward for the result obtained at the conclusion of the seasons of Splinterlands (every 15 days). DEC tokens are utility tokens because they have many use cases: - they can be sold and bought on HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex - can be used to buy cards, potions, starter sets (Spell book) - they can be used in the DeFi platforms of CubFinance and UniSwap - can be used to rent cards - will have a weight during the next airdrop of Splinterlands governance tokens (SPS tokens) To date, I have accumulated a total of **79272** **DEC** tokens on my in-game Splinterlands wallet (previous month: 121077 DEC tokens). As you can see from the calculations in the following image, today 10 July 2021, **79272** **DEC** tokens have the value of **90.75 $** (Highest Bid on LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex) Revenues from sale of DEC tokens on Hive Engine Since I have been a member on Splinterlands, I have used DEC tokens primarily to purchase cards from the marketplace for the purpose of upgrading and improving my card collection. Only on one occasion have I decided to sell DEC tokens to power up on Hive and increase my amount of HP (Hive Power). On October 5, 2020, I sold 81000 DECs on the Hive Engine marketplace and received **400.14 HIVE** in return for a value at the time of sale of **$64.8**. Today 400 HIVE is worth much more than $64.8 but I prefer to consider the value they had at the time I got them from the sale of the DEC tokens. How much are my Plots worth? On November 21, 2020 I purchased 3 Plots at a great price: **7500 DEC** per plot. So I spent a total of **22500 DEC** whose $ value at the time of purchase was **19.66 $**. The **plots** until a few days ago could be purchased directly from the Splinterlands website at the price of **$20** but now they are finished and you can only buy them on markets outside the game as on LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex. At the time of writing this post the best sale offer of a Plot on Hive Engine is 110 HIVE equivalent to 34.65$. Those interested in buying a Plot can either buy it immediately at this price or can try to make a BID to hopefully get a lower price. In calculating my profit I take into account the value of the best bid (Highest BID) on https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=PLOT which is **87.1 HIVE**. The total value of the three plots in my possession is 87.1 HIVE * 3 plots = **261.3 HIVE** = **83.09$** (previous report value: 51.87$) Farm DEC-USBD LP **CubFinance** (https://cubdefi.com/) is a decentralized finance platform created and developed by one of Hive's most active communities: the **Leofinance** community. On CubFinance I use the Farm DEC-USBD LP in which I put 24000 DECs to work. So far I have obtained **7,497 CUB** tokens which have a value of **$6,066**. **Some calculations...** Now I have all the data I need (Total Costs and Total Revenues) to calculate the Profit or Loss and ROI that I have obtained after 20 months of play and investment on Splinterlands. Profit **( Revenues - Costs )** As you can see from the calculations in the following image my **profit** after more than 20 months since my registration on Splinterlands is **2232.06 $** (previous report 1239.77 $) ROI **( Return On Investment )** The profit has increased in about a month and a half of almost 1000$ and consequently also the ROI has undergone a good percentage increase. The ROI I have calculated is 425.85% (ROI previous monthly report 368.60%). Month by month history of my investment on Splinterlands Below you can see the history of my personal investment on Splinterlands from October 18, 2019 until today July 10, 2021. The **ROI** trend from month 6 onwards has been as follows: - **ROI** after 6 months: **34.73 %**. - **ROI** after 7 months: **77.02 %** - **ROI** after 8 months: **10.93 %** - **ROI** after 9 months: **34.33 %** - **ROI** after 10 months: **16.99 %** - **ROI** after 11 months: **57.68 %** - **ROI** after 12 months: **118.59 %** - **ROI** after 13 months: **113.41 %** - **ROI** after 14 months: **111.62 %** - **ROI** after 15 months: **121.26 %** - **ROI** after 16 months: **140.84 %** - **ROI** after 17 months: **246.69 %** - **ROI** after 18 months: **334.33 %** - **ROI** after 19 months: **368.60 %** - **ROI** after 20 months: **425.85 %** The trend of **PROFIT** from month 6 onwards was as follows: *** - **PROFIT** after 6 months: **27,99 $** - **PROFIT** after 7 months: **82.346 $** - **PROFIT** after 8 months: **24,214 $** - **PROFIT** after 9 months: **78,902 $** - **PROFIT** after 10 months: **44,014 $** - **PROFIT** after 11 months: **149,437 $** - **PROFIT** after 12 months: **307,279 $** - **PROFIT** after 13 months: **316.13 $** - **PROFIT** after 14 months: **311.16 $** - **PROFIT** after 15 months: **338.02 $** - **PROFIT** after 16 months: **392.60 $** - **PROFIT** after 17 months: **687.68 $** - **PROFIT** after 18 months: **$1046.56** - **PROFIT** after 19 months: **1239.77 $** - **PROFIT** after 20 months: **2232.06 $** Final Considerations The result I have recorded in this report is the best result I have recorded so far. A profit increase of almost 1000$ in 45 days is really a result I did not expect. I'm more and more happy that I decided 20 months ago to start my gaming adventure on Splinterlands and my big and only regret is that I didn't start earlier but when Splinterlands was born I didn't know at all the meaning of Blockchain based game. I firmly believe that blockchain based games will be the future of videogames and I expressed my thoughts in a post I wrote a short time ago. **Link Post:** https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/blockchain-games-the-future-of-gaming-66150239 Splinterlands is a clear example of what a blockchain-based game can offer players: - fun - exclusive ownership of tokens and game cards - many possibilities of gain and investment But do those who sign up today still have a chance to make a good profit? Obviously when a blockchain based game is as successful as Splinterlands those who signed up earlier have earned much more than those who signed up after several months. If I had signed up for Splinterlands from day one my profit would most likely be 0 more. I have been recommending Splinterlands for 20 months for two reasons: - it is a fun game - it offers so many possibilities of profit Splinterlands can be played totally free of charge but in order to be eligible to receive in-game rewards (DEC and NFT tokens) you need to pay the $10 signup fee (Spellbook). The advice I give to people who have just signed up to Splinterlands is to participate in the contests that the account @splinterlands organizes every week because with the participation in the contests you can receive a maximum of two votes per week from the account @steemmonsters and the cost of registration to the game is recovered in a short time only and thanks to the participation in the weekly contests. In the following image you can see the vote I received from Splinterlands on my last post to participate in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge contest: On Hive the author of a post receives 50% of the votes he receives and so with one participation in a weekly Splinterlands contest I earned about **3$** (6.022/2). **3$ is 30% of the cost of entering Splinterlands.** Then there are the giveaways on twitter, the giveaways on Hive, the trivia challenges on Hive and on Telegram, there are SPT tokens and soon there will be lands, SPS governance tokens and who knows how many other possibilities Splinterlands will reserve for its players in the future... I hope youliked this report and thank you for giving me your time :) Will ROI and Profit grow in the next month or will they decrease? Follow me to find out ;) You're not a Splinterlands player? **Splinterlands is a beautiful game and it has proved to be a very good investment (at least until now) and if you participate regularly to the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recover the registration cost (10$) in few weeks.** If you decide to register, you can do it from this link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link.... :) Any game that allows the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but is also an investment and should be considered as such. Introduction to the New Splinterlands Card Rental System ***Cover Image:*** *Logo image owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* Three days ago a great new feature was introduced in the Splinterlands game: The card rental system within the Splinterlands site. Before the introduction of this new feature, it was only possible to rent cards from the Peakmonsters site (https://peakmonsters.com/), which had filled this gap by implementing a great rental system. The last two days before the end of the Splinterlands seasons I often used the Peakmonsters site to rent Splinterlands cards and I always found it very good. The rental system implemented by Peakmonsters was a very good solution but it had the flaw of being an external solution to the Splinterlands site and for this reason it was not known by all Splinterlands players. Now all Splinterlands players can rent and lease their cards directly from the Splinterlands website and in this way the rental functionality will be known and available to all players. Inside the **MARKET** section of the Splinterlands website there is a new section called **CARD RENTALS**. In this section you can see all the cards available for rent. The cost of the rental is indicated on each card and is a **daily cost** (24h). It is possible to sort the cards by price and filter them by card levels You can narrow your search using the following filters: - Edition - Foil - Rarity - Splinter - Role These are the same filters available in the **CARD SALES** section How to rent a card Renting a card is very simple: **1.** Click on the image of the card you want to rent. **2.** On the next screen you must select the card of the level and price you have chosen by putting a tick in the white square. **3.** You have to choose whether to pay using **Credits** or **DEC** tokens (only two choices). **4.** You must click on the **RENT** button **5.** On the next screen you have to choose how many days to maintain the card and finally you have to click on the green **RENT** button. That's it! Easy right? Making your own card available for rental is just as simple. Once you have selected a card in the **CARDS** section of the Splinterlands website, click on the symbol highlighted in the following image. In the next screen you must choose the **RENT CARD** option and enter the rental price per day. Splinterlands in the case of a rental lasting more than one day will take from the player who rents the card (renter) the full amount of the rental and after every 24 hours will make the payment to the owner of the card. The card owner pays a 5% fee to the Splinterlands site. Both the card owner and the renter can decide to terminate the rental at any time but the rented card will remain with the renter until the end of the current rental day. For example, if I rent a card for 7 days and I start the rental at 16:00 on 12 July and after one minute I decide to cancel the rental, I will have to keep the card until 16:00 the next day (13 July) and only then will I receive the return of 6 out of 7 installments (I have advanced 7 installments at 16:00 on 12 July). The cards rented from the Splinterlands website **have no Cooldown period** and as soon as a rental is over they can be immediately rented by another player. This is an important change because before the introduction of the in-game rental system in Splinterlands, all cards rented from the Peakmonsters website had to respect a cooldown period of 6 days. In this time window the card became unusable because it was not possible to use it in battle until the end of the cooldown period. In this post I just wanted to introduce the new rental system within the Splinterlands site because, if I have enough free time in the coming days, I would like to write a detailed tutorial on the rental of Splinterlands cards. Also, the end of the current season of Splinterlands is approaching and as I have been doing for several seasons now I will rent some cards to try to get at least in the Champion III league of Splinterlands and I will be able to take many screenshots to show all the steps to new players and to those who have never rented a Splinterlands card. For the rental of the cards I will continue to use the Peakmonsters site because it has adapted to the new system of Splinterlands and offers to the players who want to rent their cards and to the players who want to rent cards from other players many more useful features than the Splinterlands site. From the Peakmonsters site, differently from the Splinterlands site, you can also search for a single card and you can use many more filters that speed up the search for cards to rent. My Road to 30000 Hive Power: Hive Considerations + June Report ***Cover Image****: Background image is* *CC0 image* *- edit by @libertycrypto27 - Font used is Open Source* https://pixabay.com/it/photos/strada-panorama-orizzonte-dritto-3478977/ On March 5, 2019 I joined the beautiful world of **Hive**, a decentralized, free and uncensored world. Today July 5, 2021 marks exactly 2 years and 4 months since I joined Hive. Every month I like to write a report to share my goals, progress and considerations about Hive. On June 30, 2021 there was the Hard Fork 25 which introduced some changes especially regarding the mechanism of curation of posts published on Hive. Before the last Hard Fork, voting a post using automatic tools like hive.vote (https://hive.vote/) gave an advantage and a higher return than voting posts manually. In fact, before, voting for a post at exactly the five minute mark allowed you to earn more money than someone who voted for the post before five minutes or after five minutes. Now, instead, voting for a post at any minute within a twenty-four hour window of time from the publication of a post produces a fixed economic return (50%) in relation to one's voting power and there is no longer any penalty for those who vote for a post before the five minutes. I am very happy with this change because now it is possible to evaluate a post with more calm and with less pressure: five minutes were really few to read a post and evaluate it. I also hope that this change will lead to an increase in interaction between users and a greater consideration of the posts of new users. The second change made by HF 25 concerns the HBD tokens that, now, only if moved to the Savings section of the wallet produce an interest of 7% per year (APR). Before the last HF it was only possible to convert HBD tokens in HIVE while now it is possible to convert in both directions. I like this change that should encourage the movement of HIVE and HBD tokens from the exchanges and should limit the speculation actions on HBD tokens. However, I still prefer converting my HIVEs and HBDs into Hive Power (HP) because the weight of an account within the Hive blockchain is only given by the amount of Hive Power. Having more Hive Power is equivalent to having: - more voting power to reward favorite authors and at the same time earn from the voting activity (50% author and 50% curators). - more voting power to choose Hive Witnesses - more voting power to decide which proposals should be funded and which not - more Resource Credits: + Resource Credits = + actions and transactions on the Hive blockchain. It is true that HBD in the Savings section of the Wallet allow to have an APR of 7% while HP allow to have an APR of 3.33% but voting for posts allows to have a return of more than 7% and very important allows, at the same time, to support other users of Hive and support other users allows to create connections and interactions that on Hive are very important elements. For the reasons listed above my main goal on Hive is and will always be to increase the amount of HP in my possession. Here are all the goals that I have set on Hive and that I would like to achieve. My goals on Hive **Main Goal:** **30000 HP** **Secondary goals** - **Reputation Goal**: 76 - **Goal: Total Number of Posts**: 1300 - **Engagement Goal** (total number of comments): 15000 - **Onboarding Goal**: at least 28 people. - **Followers Goal**: 1000 Progress status Start from the main goal Main goal: **To be achieved by 31 December 2021** I like to set myself goals and I like to track my progress towards my goals and for that reason I built a table in which I divided my main goal into smaller intermediate goals of monthly duration. As you can see from the table in the following image the intermediate goal I had to reach in June was **1970.21 HIVE** (fifth column of the table). My Wallet On June 1, 2021 my Wallet had a value of 16208.53 HIVE (HIVE+HP+HBD). On June 30, 2021 I took the screenshot of my Wallet at: https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/wallet (image below). My Wallet contained: **16623,447 HP**, **15.37 HIVE** and **108,418 HBD**. Adding up all the data (HIVE+HP+HBD), the total value of my wallet was **16977,628 HIVE** (June 30, 2021) The increase in value of my wallet in **HIVE** (HP+HDB+HIVE) that I achieved in June was **769.09 HIVE** The result is slightly higher than the result of the previous month (May) which was **+669.56 HIVE**. It is obviously slightly higher also the monthly percentage increase: **+4.74%** (previous month: **+4.31%**) I've updated the table with the June results and, as you can see from the image below, also this month I didn't reach the intermediate monthly target I had set. To reach a quantity of 30000 HP I have to accumulate 13022.37 HIVE and to do so by December 31, 2021 I have to accumulate an average of 2170.40 HIVE per month for the next 6 months. Based on the current value of HIVE my account has an estimated value of **$5441** (previous month: $6883). If I divide this value by the total number of months since my enrollment I get an average monthly increment value of approximately **194.32$** (5441$ / 28 months). Secondary Goals In addition to my main goal, I have also set secondary goals that I still consider important. Reputation Goal: 76 On Hive each account is associated with a numerical value located right after the username: the **reputation**. Reputation is one of the many elements that differentiates Hive from other centralized and traditional platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. In fact, in centralized blogging platforms, the type of user activity or the quality of the content published is not particularly important. The only really important aspect for Facebook, Twitter & Co. is the user's data, and particularly important is the data that outlines the user's preferences and tastes, data that has a lot of value in the market because it can be contractually sold to external companies interested in this data. On June 1, 2021 my reputation was **73.22**. On June 30, 2021 my reputation was **73.36**. In one month my reputation has increased by **0.14** points with a monthly percentage increase of **+0.19%**. According to the site information: https://hivebuzz.me/ranking I am at position number **547** in the reputation ranking of all Hive users (last month I was at position number **565**). Goal: Total Number of Posts (1300) On Hive I have fun and I like to write and post content. I don't consider myself a blogger, but I simply like to write posts about my passions or thoughts or about decentralized projects I like such as the blockchain-based games I play. Through June 30, 2021 I have published a total of 955 posts. In the month of June I published **26 posts**, 8 fewer posts than in the month of May. In order to reach my final goal I should be able to publish another **319 posts** in 6 months and therefore I should publish at least 53 posts every month (precisely 53.16). Engagement goal (total number of comments): 15000 Among my secondary goals, the total number of comments is the one I care most about because it is only by reading and commenting on other authors' posts that connections are created and interaction is generated on Hive. Without **interaction** you cannot talk about community and since the strength of Hive is mainly the strength of its great community without interaction Hive would lose so much value. In addition, interacting with other users of Hive is a moment of confrontation and especially of growth. Interacting on Hive means mainly to write comments on the posts of other authors and respond to comments you receive. My commenting goal is to write at least 1500 comments by the end of 2021. In 2 years and 4 months I have written a total of **10269 comments** with an average of just over 12 comments per day. To get to 15000 comments by December 31, 2021 I need to write 4731 more comments in 6 months (about 788 comments per month) so I need to interact more. Onboarding goal: at least 28 people Unfortunately I am far from reaching this goal as well which is a very important goal for me. I have brought several people on Hive but few have become active and constant users, most have left after a short time. I absolutely do not lose heart and I will continue in my activity of promoting Hive and I will continue to offer my support to the people who will accept my invitation and "break" the oppressive chains of centralization: - 30 HP in delegation for a month - my support on Discord to take the first steps on Hive We'll see in the next days if my promotion activity will be successful or not... Followers goal: 1000 In the month of May 20 Hive users have chosen to follow my account and now I have 707 followers. June: Considerations In the month of June I hoped to have more time available to devote to Hive and instead I had even less time than in May and in fact the number of posts published has decreased: only 26. I'm however satisfied with the results obtained because even if I published a smaller number of posts I increased the total author rewards and I also increased the curator rewards. - Total Author Rewards (HP): **455.09 HIVE** (last month: **434.82 HIVE**) - Total Curation Rewards (HP): **159.99 HIVE** (last month: **141.04 HIVE**) Conclusion Reaching my main goal will be very difficult because to reach it I would have to earn 2000 Hive per month for the next six months. But I don't like to use the word impossible because I'm also following other projects and if any of them would do very well in the future, I could use part of the profits to make a nice Power Up and then until December 31, 2021 anything can still happen ;) As I do every month and for several months now I want to end my report with some thanks. I want to thank all the people who follow me, all the people who read and comment on my posts and all the people who support me and have contributed to the growth of my account. A special thanks goes as always to @fedesox, the creator of the Olio di Balena (https://peakd.com/c/hive-146620/created) community of which I am a happy moderator, who has supported me constantly since the beginning of my adventure on Hive and who supports and encourages the publishing activity of many other Hive users. I also thank the @discovery-it community that I follow with pleasure and of which I am a curator. Thank you all What goals have you set for yourself on Hive? If you like, you can write your goals in the comments and I will be happy to read them. If you haven't set yourself any goals, I suggest you do so because setting goals is the first step towards achieving them. If you are not a Hive user you are missing a great opportunity to be part of an important project and not just a simple user like on Facebook & Co. If you don't have a Hive account you can easily create one in a few steps. I have written a short tutorial where I show you how to do it: HIVE: Registration and First Login with PeakD https://peakd.com/hive-177682/@libertycrypto27/hive-registration-and-first-login-with-peakd-tutorial The images in this post are screenshots taken from the sites: https://peakd.com/ https://hivestats.io/ https://hivebuzz.me/ The images that contain calculations and formulas are my property The font I used in my images or in the images I edited is Open Source **Follow me also on:** Twitter: **https://twitter.com/libertycrypto27** Publish0x: **https://www.publish0x.com/libertycrypto27?a=MYervALeOB** Hive: **https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/posts** NoiseCash: **https://noise.cash/u/libertycrypto27** Blurt: **https://blurtter.com/@libertycrypto27**

Splinterlands: My End of Season Strategy: From Gold I to Champion III ***Cover Image:*** *Images of Leagues owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source</sub></center>* Splinterlands season number 52 is almost at an end, in fact there is less than a day left until its conclusion. Today I wanted to share my end of season goal and the end of season strategy I chose to follow to reach my goal. My end of season goal My minimum goal is to reach the **Champion III** league. The Champion III league has two entry requirements: - A **Power Score of 500000 points**. The Power score is the total value of the cards that can be used in battle (owned cards + borrowed cards) converted to DEC. - a **Rating score of 3700 points**. My starting point At the time I'm writing this post I don't meet either of the two requirements listed above because: - I have a **rating** score of **2709 points** and I am in **Gold I league**. - I have a **power** score of **260000 points**. **The rating score** is, of the two requirements, the easiest to increase because it increases each time you win a battle. If I win a battle with an opponent who has a higher rating score than me I get more rating points as a reward for winning the battle and if I lose I lose a few rating points. If I lose a battle with an opponent who has a lower rating score than me I lose many rating points and if I win I get few rating points. **The power rating** can be increased in only two ways: - **buy cards** - to **rent cards** The general price of cards in Splinterlands has increased considerably in recent months and to increase my power score of 240000 points I would have to buy many cards and spend many dollars. The cheapest way to increase the Power score is to rent cards from Peakmonsters market (https://peakmonsters.com/) and this is what I have been doing for several seasons. My rental strategy My rental strategy involves rules that I set for myself: - total rental cost must not exceed **$2.2** - I rent only cards with the **Termination escrow equal to 0** (no penalty in case of early termination of the rental contract) - I rent only cards useful in battle and in particular I try to rent **legendary cards of the highest level** (I exclude cards that have a high conversion value in DEC tokens but that I would almost never use in battle). The cards I rented Each season finale is different from the last because the card rental market is a dynamic one and it's not always possible to rent as many cards as you want and especially on the terms you want. There are some really useful cards in battle that rightly have high prices but there are many cards that have unreasonable rental prices and it's really hard to find a motivation to hit the rent button. I rented **4 summoner cards** of the highest level: - Countess L'ament, Untamed, Level 8 - Bortus, Untamed, Level 8 - Pyre, Untamed, Level 8 - Camila Sungazer, Untamed, Level 4 I rented **24 monster cards**: - Elemental Phoenix, Alpha, Level 4 - Fire Demon, Alpha, Level 6 - Pit Ogre, Beta, Level 6 - Living Lava, Untamed, Level 8 - Exploding Dwarf, Reward, Level 9 - Kobold Miner, Alpha, Level 8 - Albatross, Untamed, Level 6 - Sabre Shark, Beta, Level 9 - Ice Pixie, Untamed, Level 8 - Water Elemental, Alpha, Level 7 - Frost Giant, Alpha, Level 3 - The Gorlodon, Untamed, Level 6 - Screaming Banshee, Beta, Level 5 - Skeleton Assassin, Alpha, Level 9 - Fiendish Harpy, Promo, Level 6 - Gloridax Guardian, Untamed, Level 4 - The Vigilator, Untamed, Level 4 - Diamond Dragon, Untamed, Level 4 - Dragon Jumper, Untamed, Level 4 - Red Dragon, Promo, Level 4 - Hobgoblin, Reward, Level 6 - Elven Cutthroat, Beta, Level 5 - War Chaang, Untamed, Level 6 - Parasitic Growth, Untamed, Level 10 The rental of the 28 cards listed above has a daily cost of **$0.69** and a total cost of **$3.25** if I complete all rental contracts. I will keep the rental active for two days and thus spend a total of **1.38$** instead of **3.25$**. If I have difficulty reaching Champion III league I will rent more cards until I reach the maximum threshold of the budget I set: **2.2$**. I spent **0.69$** to increase my power score by **280000 points**. So I have met the first requirement for access to the Splinterlands Champion III league but now I need to meet the second requirement and get a rating score above 3700 points. Why I chose to follow this strategy I chose to rent cards from the Peakmonsters site because the current value of cards is high and opening more chests is much more profitable than in the past. If I stay in my current league, the Gold I league, I will receive 30 chests as an end of season reward. If I arrive in the Champion III league, I will receive 80 chests and therefore I will receive 50 more chests. Each chest can contain three types of rewards: an amount of DEC tokens, a card or a potion. In the average case I should find 16 cards in 50 chests. In addition, in my attempt to climb to the Champion league I will also earn a good number of DEC tokens (2000-3000) that alone will allow me to recover the cost of the rental of cards. In fact today 1000 DEC tokens are worth $ 1.0314 *Screenshot from the site:* *https://www.splintercards.com/index.html* **Will I reach my end of season goal?** If you like, follow me to find out if my end-of-season strategy choice will produce the desired effects or if it will prove to be completely wrong! What strategy have you chosen to follow for the end of the current season of Splinterlands? Tell me in a comment below this post and I'll read your comment with great pleasure. I am not a financial advisor and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice and at your own risk. See you on the battlefields of Splinterlands. Blockchain Games: The Future of Gaming! ***Cover Image:*** *Photo in the background:* *https://pixabay.com/it/photos/ocean-wave-mare-acqua-marea-918999/* *- edit by @libertycrypto27 - font used is Open Source* With this post I have participated in a contest by Blockchain Gaming community (a new community on Hive blockchain) and I am very happy that on Hive there is a community entirely dedicated to blockchain based games. https://peakd.com/c/hive-131619/created In fact on Hive there is the beautiful **Hive Gaming** community but it is focused on all kinds of games and there are the communities of the various blockchain based games such as the **Splinterlands** community (https://peakd.com/c/hive-13323/created) and the **Rising Star** community (https://peakd.com/c/hive-195370/created)... but a virtual place to write and share impressions and experiences related exclusively to blockchain based games was not there and so the Blockchain Gaming community has filled a void. **I love decentralisation and therefore I love blockchain games** and I firmly believe that they will be the future of the gaming industry. That's why I play a lot of blockchain-based games and I'm always trying new ones in my spare time. It will take a long time to reach a mass adoption of blockchain-based games but the number of games is growing as the number of players is growing. The value and the advantages that blockchain-based games offer to players are still little known concepts and for this reason in this post I wanted to compare two games that are very similar in terms of game play but structured very differently because one is a traditional and centralized game while the other is a blockchain-based game: **Hearthstone** and **Splinterlands**. Hearthstone and Splinterlands Both **Splinterlands** and **Hearthstone** are two collectible card games. The cards are an important part of both games because they are indispensable elements for battles with other players and, in case of victory, they allow you to receive rewards. Golden Coins (Heartstone) VS Dark Energy Crystals (Splintelands) In Hearthstone, players receive an amount of **gold coins** (this is, of course, in-game gold) as a reward for completing quests in the game or for achieving victories in game mode matches against other players. Splinterlands players for every battle they win against another player receive tokens called **Dark Energy Cristal (DEC)**. What can a Hearthstone player do with gold coins? 1. He can buy packs of cards to improve his card collection. 2. Access certain sections of the game to challenge other players (Arena). What can a Splinterlands player do with DEC tokens? 1. He can buy packs of cards and other game elements (potions, skins, plots). 2. He can buy single cards that are sold by other players on the in-game market. 3. He can buy a tournament entry which can have different types of prizes (DEC tokens, cards...). 4. Can create his own custom tournament. 5. Can transfer them to 5 different wallets and sell them to other people (not necessarily players) in exchange for other cryptocurrencies (HIVE, BNB, BTC...) 6. Can put them to work on two different farms (DeFi) to get passive income (tokens): - https://cubdefi.com/ (Binance Smart Chain) - https://uniswap.org/ (Ethereum blockchain) 7. He can use them to borrow playing cards from the https://peakmonsters.com/ marketplace. 8. Can use them to create a guild (group of players) 9. Can use them to buy items from other games (e.g. in the Rising Star market and the Dcity market you can use DECs to buy some cards). **Hearthstone gold coins only have value within the game.** **DEC tokens have value within the game of Splinterlands but also outside the game and can be converted via exchanges to other cryptocurrencies and tokens and also to fiat currencies (Euro, dollar...)** Cards of Hearthstone VS Cards of Splinterlands *First two card images are screenshots from the site:* *https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/cards?set=forged-in-the-barrens* *- third and fourth images owned by @splinterlands</sub></center>* The Hearthstone cards Hearthstone cards can only be used within the game and only have value within the game. Players can also buy packs of cards with real money but cannot transfer packs or individual cards to other players. The Splinterlands Cards Splinterlands cards can be used within the game, but can also be: - sold to other players on the internal Splinterlands marketplace - transferred and sold on various exchanges outside the Splinterlands game (Hive Engine, Atomic Hub,...) - transferred to other players instantaneously and without transaction costs (thanks to the Hive blockchain which does not have transaction costs) - Lend to other players for free - lent for a set period of time in exchange for a payment on https://peakmonsters.com/ - burned and converted into a certain amount of DEC tokens Splinterlands card packs can be bought with real money but also with various cryptocurrencies and can be tokenized, transferred and sold on exchanges outside the game such as Hive Engine or Atomich Hub. **Hearthstone cards are simple game elements.** **Cards in Splinterlands are Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) and digital ownership is completely up to the player who owns them** who can decide what to do with their cards from a variety of options. Mode of Access and Transparency A centralised game like Hearthstone requires a registration before you can start playing, which is set by the producer of the game, which in the case of Heartstone is the famous Blizzard. A game from another company requires a new and different registration process *Screenshot from the site:* *https://account.battle.net/creation/flow/creation-full* A blockchain-based game like Splinterlands requires the same login credentials as the blockchain on which it was developed and on which the game's transactions are made: **Hive**. With the same credentials you can access any other game that runs on Hive such as Rising Star, Dcity and Dcrops. What differentiates a blockchain-based game from a centralized game is in particular **transaction transparency**. On Hearthstone I can't see all the transactions made by each player, for example I can't know how many packs of cards another player has bought or the contents of the pack of cards any other player has opened. On Splinterlands I can see every other player's game activity, I can see every player's card collection and I can also know the value of any card collection. I can reconstruct the purchase and transfer activity of every single card in the game. A blockchain-based game therefore also offers advantages in terms of ease of access and transparency over a centralised game. The blockchain-based games I play The blockchain-based games I play, subscribe to or have tried are: **Splintelands (my favourite game)** **Link**: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 (Ref.) Rising Star **Link**:https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=libertycrypto27 (Ref.) dCrops **Link**:https://www.dcrops.com/ dCity **Link**: https://dcity.io/ Upland **Link**: https://r.upland.me/BvJs (Ref.) Alien Worlds **Link**: https://play.alienworlds.io/ Cryptobrewmasters **Link**: https://www.cryptobrewmaster.io/game/invite?ref=e877b826db7c483e8865bfc43ae31fdb&code=AlphaBonus (Ref.) There are other games I'd like to check out and try out like **Lost Relics**, **Prospectors**, **Hashkings** but I haven't had the time to do so yet. Other blockchain based games I hope to learn about through reading the posts published within the Blockchain Gaming community and through interaction with other users. The creators of the Blockchain Gaming community on Hive have also created a [website](https://blockchaingaming.com/) that I have viewed and enjoyed because it explains very well all the aspects and advantages of a blockchain game. *Screenshot from the site:* *https://blockchaingaming.com/* Conclusion The intent of my post is in no way to speak ill of a game like Hearthstone but only to point out the differences between a centralized game and a blockchain-based game. Blizzard has created a really good and fun game. Hearthstone is also a very graphically beautiful game and has a lot more animations than Splinterlands. I tried both games and I enjoyed playing both of them but I chose to play only Splinterlands because in addition to being a fun game is a game in which I am not just a player but I am also a small investor because I have cards and tokens that belong to me and that have a concrete value and not just play. As a small investor I feel part of a project as well as being a happy player. I've been playing Splinterlands for about 20 months and I still enjoy it as much as I did the first day. Every month I write a report where I evaluate Splinterlands only from a financial point of view. In the following image you can see the profit and Roi that I have made after 19 months of playing and an investment of 313$. Link to my last monthly report: https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/is-splinterlands-a-good-investment-19-months-later-d4f5b98a Blockchain-based games are still little known, and more importantly, the many benefits they offer and can prospectively offer their players are still little known. A game like Heartstone has millions of active players (more than 23 million in 2020) while a game like Splinterlands has about 7000 active players. *Screenshot from the site:* *https://hivedata.space/statistics/splinterlands* The distance between blockchain games and traditional games is still considerable but it is only a matter of time... I chose as cover image a wave of the sea because I believe that in the future blockchain based games will overtake traditional and centralized games and **the overcoming will happen with the shock force of a high and beneficial wave**. **When this wave arrives I hope to be riding the wave on a surfboard with the logo of Splinterlands or some other decentralized game on it instead of being surprised and overwhelmed while sitting on a couch playing Hearthstone or Fortnite :)** What is your favourite blockchain-based game? Do you have a game I haven't considered to recommend? Tell me in the comments and I'll read your recommendation very carefully! I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Unless otherwise indicated the images in this post are screenshots taken from my gaming activity. The reasons why I chose to buy another Summoner's SpellBook **Splinterlands** is my favourite blockchain-based game and writing posts about Splinterlands is something I like and enjoy. Several months ago I created a secondary account for the purpose of optimising **SPT** token accumulation. The account is @libertygame27 (on Hive blockchain) and with this account I do not publish posts but only vote for posts with the tags splinterlands and spt. Today I decided to buy the Summoner's Spellbook for my alt account which, as of today, in addition to being a curation account also becomes a Splinterlands game account. **Why did I buy another Summoner's Spellbook?** There are two main reasons: - the future **Splinterlands Airdrop** concerning **SPS tokens** - the opportunity to see **how quickly the initial cost (10$) can be recouped just by playing and without investing any more capital**. First reason: the airdrop of SPS tokens Since I started using the @libertygame27 account I have accumulated about **79000 SPT** tokens from my activity of curating posts with the spt and splinterlands tags. **SPT tokens** have a value in HIVE determined by supply and demand on the Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex sites but will also have a future added value because in the next SPS token Airdrop (scheduled for end of July) they will be worth **0.25 points** (see image below). According to the calculations of the useful tool "**SPS AIRDROP CALCULATED**R" at https://www.splintercards.com/tool-sps-airdrop.html the 79000 SPT tokens staked by my secondary account will allow me to receive 3-4 SPS tokens per day, 1129-1580 SPS tokens in a year (estimated number of tokens). The problem is that the SPS tokens will only be distributed daily for the duration of about a year to Splinterlands players who have purchased the Summoner Spelbook. By buying the Spellbook I made my curation account eligible for the next Splinterlands airdrop. The **possible alternative** was to: - start the unstake operation of the SPT tokens owned by the @libertygame27 account - transfer them to my main account - delegate them from my main account to my curation account. I discarded this alternative because for a whole year I would have had to repeat the steps listed above many times. Today I exchanged comments and considerations with @revise.spt who is in the same situation as me. @revise.spt has chosen not to buy the Summoner Spelbook and his choice is just as correct and perhaps more logical than mine. In fact in all likelihood it is not worth spending $10 just to receive a few more SPS tokens. In fact no one can predict the value of the new SPS tokens and spending $10 could probably be the wrong choice. But the main reason that made me decide to buy another Summoner Speelbook was mainly another one and it is related to my activity of promotion of Splinterlands on sites outside Hive. In fact, I share my Splinterlands posts on some centralised sites such as Publish0x, read.cash, noise.cash and Twitter. For example, when I publish my monthly Splinterlands report showing my profit and ROI I often get questions like: *If I sign up for Splinterlands how quickly do I recover the $10 sign-up fee? My answer to this question is always the same: the registration fee is recovered in a very short time if you participate in the weekly contests that @splinterlands organizes on Hive. In fact, by participating in 2 to 5 contests you can easily recover the cost of registration (the number of contest entries needed to recover the cost of registration depends on the quality of the posts published). Those who participate assiduously in the weekly Splinterlands contests can certainly confirm what I have just written. However, some people don't like writing posts and just want to play. And that is the second and main reason why I invested 10$ to buy a Summoner Spelbook. Second Reason: Answer the following question: How quickly can you recoup the entry fee just by playing without participating in the weekly contests? Thanks to my new game account, I will be able to answer this question as well and I will be able to see how long it takes while having fun. To recap, with the account @libertygame27: - I will continue to curate posts with the tags spt and splinterlands but from today I will also use it to play games. - I will do all the daily quests and start from 0. - until i recover the $10 entry fee I will not be delegating any cards from @libertycrypto27 to @libertygame27. - obviously i won't participate with my secondary account in contests and giveaways: **it wouldn't be fair!** Basically I'll be playing as a new player who starts playing Splinterlands but has no money available to invest other than the initial $10. Libertygame27: First day of play report Today right after paying the registration fee I played and completed my first daily mission: win 5 battles using summoner cards from the Life element. With the purchase of the Spelbook, I received 30 cards including two summoner cards of the Life element from Splinterlands: - **Tyrus Paladium** - **Mother Khala** I completed the daily mission after 9 battles: 5 won and 4 lost. From my first battle I won 0.003 DEC which is very little compared to the DEC I earn on my main account: 29 - 39 DEC per battle won. I finish the daily mission with a balance of **0.153 DEC tokens**. I receive a chest and I'm lucky because I immediately find a card: **Undead Rexx**. The profit I got in the first day of the game is **0.04$** which corresponds to **0.4%** of the registration cost. Dear reader, how long do you think it will take me to recoup the entry fee? I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? If you are not a Splinterlands player, you are missing out on a unique opportunity to have fun while earning cards and DEC. If you decide to register, you can do so from this link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link... :) If you use a refferal link when registering for Splinterlands you have the following advantage: **Splinterlands is a great game but it has also proven to be a good investment (at least so far) and if you regularly participate in the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recoup the cost of registration in a few weeks.** Any game that allows you to buy cards and tokens is never just a game, it is also an investment. I am not a financial advisor and my advice is not financial advice, it is just my personal opinion based on my experience. If you decide to invest in the Splinterlands game you do so at your own choice and risk. See you on the Splinterlands battlefields. I Token SPT, Splintertalk and My Road to 1 Million SPT ***Cover Image:*** *Font used is Open Source - edit by @libertycrypto27* Hive's second-level tokens are many and can be divided into two categories based on how they can be obtained: - tokens that can only be obtained by purchasing them - tokens that you can get not only by buying them but also by using a specific tag in a post. **SPT** tokens belong to the second category and are tokens that I care a lot about because they are related to my favourite blockchain-based game: **Splinterlands**. If this is the first time you're hearing about SPT tokens, I'll briefly explain what they are. The SPT tokens SPT tokens are the tokens of the **Splintertalk** community (on Hive blockchain) and are the tokens created and issued by the @splinterlands account (on Hive blockchain). In order to receive SPT tokens without purchasing them you need to: - write a post that deals with Splinterlands game related topics - use one or both of the following tags: **spt** or **splinterlands**. When you make a post and use the **spt** and/or **splinterlands** tags your post will be visible on Hive but it will also be visible on the Splintertalk community front end at the following address: https://www.splintertalk.io/ The interface of https://www.splintertalk.io/ is very similar to the interface of https://hive.blog/ with the difference that the **reward** of a post is only displayed in terms of **token SPT** and not **$(HTU)**. For example and as you can see from the image below, my last post on Splinterlands received as a reward an amount of **5836** **SPT** tokens. The division of the SPT tokens between the **author** of the post and the **curator** (the one who votes for the post) is **50%/50%** respectively (just like on Hive) and the reward is paid to the author and the curators of the post at the end of the 7th day after the publication of the post. **The more tokens you accumulate and stake on HiveEngine/LeoDex, the more your voting power relative to SPT tokens increases**. Today June 19, 2021 the value of an SPT token is 0.00074 HIVE (Highest Bid). As you can see from the chart below, the value of SPT tokens is increasing compared to past months. On April 20, 2021 the value of an SPT token was 0.00052 HIVE compared to 0.00074 today. This increase in value is partly due to the announcement of the upcoming Splinterlands Airdrop regarding SPS tokens. In fact, a portion of the SPS tokens will be distributed based on the total score obtained by the items in the table in the following image. Each SPT token will be assigned a score of 0.25 for the purposes of the Airdrop, which will begin in July 2021 and end after approximately one year. Since I became a Splinterlands player I have never sold an SPT token, I keep accumulating them and I have also set a goal for SPT tokens: 1 million SPT tokens. My Road To 1 Million SPT In order to speed up and optimise the accumulation of SPT tokens, I have chosen to create a **curation account** which I have named @libertygame27. With my main account I follow many authors who write about different topics and therefore use different tags. With my secondary account @libertygame27 I don't post content but I accumulate SPT tokens and only vote for posts that have the splinterlands or spt tag. This way I don't run the risk of wasting my SPT token voting power: **SPT POWER**. The last time I checked the amount of SPT tokens accumulated in @libertygame27's wallet was two months ago, on 20 April 2021. Today 19 June 2021 I have accumulated a total of **467371** **SPT** tokens (delegated and staked). On April 20, 2021 I had accumulated a total of **388747** **SPT** tokens. As you can see from the image below, in 2 months I have earned 78624 SPT tokens, an increase of +20.22%. To get to the million SPT tokens I need to accumulate **532629 SPT** more. I am almost halfway there and if I keep up the same rate of increase I should reach my goal in just over **13 months** (532629 / (78624 / 2) = 13.54 months). In the following image are the top 19 positions of the SPT Richlist. In the SPT Richlist my curation account is in 19th position. At the top of this list is the @monster-curator account managed by the @flauwy account. @monster-curator is not only the account with the most SPT tokens (received by proxy and staked) but also the account that has contributed the most to the growth of my curation account. Monster curator does a great job of manual curation and **if you have staked SPT tokens and can't use your voting power you can choose to delegate your SPT tokens to the @monster-curator account** who will send you daily SPT tokens obtained through your delegation. I will end this post with a look at the percentage of SPT tokens staked: 84.01%. This is important because it shows how much SPT token holders care about their tokens ;) Two months ago the value of the staking percentage was slightly higher. In two months, the tokens in circulation have increased by about 5.5 million units. With the future Airdrop of SPS tokens the SPT token has gained value and more importantly added a use case to its use. I hope that in the future Splinterlands will think of new use cases for the SPT token. Splinterlands offers a lot of earning opportunities for its players and the SPT tokens are an added value for players like me who not only play the game but also write posts about Splinterlands. I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? If you are not a Splinterlands player, you are missing out on a unique opportunity to have fun while earning cards and DEC. If you decide to register, you can do so from this link: **https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27** Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link... My DCROPS report: the end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter ***Cover Image****: Logo image owned by* ***dcrops*** *- Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* https://www.dcrops.com/ I love decentralisation and the world of blockchains and as a consequence I follow and play several blockchain-based games. The latest game I decided to play is **Dcrops** (https://www.dcrops.com/). If this is the first time you've heard of the game Dcrops I'll briefly explain what it is. What is Dcrops? Dcrops is a blockchain-based farming simulation game that runs on the Hive blockchain. It is a game that has only been available to play for a short time and is in an early development phase: the Alpha version. The aim of the game is to buy land in which you can plant seeds to grow plants which, after a certain period of time, produce fruits that you can sell. The land and seeds are the NFTs of the Dcrops game. As in the real world in the game of dCrops there are 4 seasons (summer, spring, autumn and winter), but they only last for 15 days. LAND cards can be used in every season, while SEED cards can only be used in a specific season. The crops grown can be sold for Share points. Share points allow you to enter the fortnightly ranking, which has a reward pool consisting of a quantity of **CROP** tokens. Players are rewarded at the end of each season with a certain amount of CROP tokens depending on the total amount of Shares points earned during the season. CROP tokens can be withdrawn from the in-game wallet and can be sent to the Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex wallet. Once withdrawn, CROP tokens become second level Hive tokens and are called **dCrops Token**. My first Dcrops report With today's post I am starting to publish seasonal reports (every 15 days) on the game of Dcrops. These reports will help me evaluate my investment in the Dcrops game and I hope they will also be useful to those of my readers who are considering joining this new farming game. Farming games are games that require little time but at the same time require an initial investment and for this reason I consider them more than games as real investments. In fact **Dcrops is not a free game** and to start playing you need to buy card packs or cards from the in-game market. The cost of a card pack is **$2** and each pack contains 5 cards with the guarantee that at least one card is of rare type or better. To buy packs of cards you can pay with HIVE tokens or CROP tokens. Two months ago I bought 10 packs of cards and spent **18,574 HIVE**. Two months ago HIVE was worth much more than today and now to buy 10 packs of cards you need **58,797 HIVE**. Right now, buying a pack of dcrops cards using HIVE tokens as a payment method costs **5,796 HIVE** while using CROP tokens sold on Hive Engine costs less: **4.8 HIVE**. The other alternative is to place a BID on Hive Engine and try to get an even lower price for the CROP token purchase. The end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter The winter season is underway in the dcrops game. The current season is the fourth season since the game started. The first two seasons were test seasons with reduced rewards while the previous season (Autumn) was the first season with a Reward Pool of 500000 CROP tokens. Since completing the previous seasons I have received a total of **561.40 CROP tokens** as a reward. If I wanted to sell the CROP tokens that I have earned so far at the value of the best purchase offer I would get **0.84 HIVE**. My strategy on Dcrops I will not be selling my CROP tokens and the strategy I have decided to follow is as follows: - I will only buy seed cards from the dcrops market if I have Land cards with free and unused Plots - the CROP tokens that I will earn from the fortnightly ranking I will invest in the purchase of packs of cards (1 pack of cards = 2000 CROP tokens) - when I have more seed cards than I can use in a season, I will sell these cards on the internal market of dCrops. In order to follow my strategy before the start of the current season I bought some seed cards from the dCrops market. As you can see from the pictures below, I bought: - 8 Peas seeds and I spent 4 HIVE. - 3 Radish seeds and I spent 1.02 HIVE. This season I have many more seeds planted than the previous season and should get a bigger reward. Total investment cost The total cost of my investment in Dcrops is given by the sum of the cost of the packs of cards I bought and the cost of the seed cards I bought from Dcrops' internal market. **Total cost**: **23,594 HIVE** (18,574 + 4 + 1.02) Will Dcrops be a good investment? Final Considerations This is a premature question to answer because the game started very recently. As I've written before I consider Farming games to be investments rather than games and every investment always has a risk factor to consider and evaluate. **Dcrops will be a good investment if many players decide to play and invest in buying CROP cards and tokens.** In my opinion Dcrops is a game that has potential because: - it is easy to understand and play - it has essential but very nice graphics - it requires little time to play. After the end of the current season of Dcrops I will have more data and in my next fortnightly report I will start to calculate the ROI and Profit of my investment in Dcrops. In this my first Dcrops report I have only calculated the amount of HIVE needed to reach my Break-Even point. For the calculation of the Break-Even point I have only considered the value of the rewards received (CROP tokens) and I have not considered the value of the cards in my card collection because in the Dcrops market it is not possible to make a BID and therefore I cannot know the immediately monetisable value of my card collection. For the time being I consider this a positive result because with only one season completed (the first two were test seasons) I have recovered 3.56% of my initial investment. I hope you enjoyed my report and if you like it, follow me to read my future posts and reports on Dcrops ;) **Important Note:** **Dcrops is more than a game, it is an investment and should be treated as such**. In any kind of investment there is always a **risk factor** to evaluate and consider. **I am not a financial advisor and my report is in no way an invitation to invest in Dcrops but is just an analysis of my personal investment in Dcrops on June 17, 2021.** My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart! *** Unless otherwise indicated, the images in this post are screenshots taken from the sites: https://www.dcrops.com/ https://hive-engine.com/ The images containing formulas and calculations are my property The font used in the calculations images and in the images edited by me is Open Source

My End of Season Strategy: From Diamond III to Champion ***Cover Image:*** *Images of Leagues owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* Objective: From Diamond League III to Champion League III Hello Hivers and Splinterlands players, Another season of my favourite blockchain-based game is coming to an end. In fact, at the time of writing this post there is just over a day left until the end of the current season. It has now become a pleasant habit for me to share with those who follow my blog my end of season strategy. As in previous seasons I have chosen to rent cards from the Peakmonsters market to increase my power score and to try to reach my minimum goal for the season: the Champion III league. My strategy is practically the same as the strategy I adopted during the last two days of the previous season. What has changed in this final season compared to the past is my starting point. In fact, on 30 May 2021 I had a power score of 238940 and was in the Gold I league. Five days ago I passed the 250000 power point threshold, albeit by a small margin, so this morning, before I rented the cards from the Peakmonsters market, I was already in the Diamond III league. So my starting point has changed, but my goal has not. In order to reach my goal, I had to increase my power points in order to fulfil the entry requirement for the Splinterlands Champion leagues, which is 500000 power points. So this morning I rented 39 cards from the Peakmonsters market. I rented 7 more cards than in the previous season but kept the daily rental cost the same: $0.96. The budget I decided to allocate to card rentals was 2.4$. In order to stay within my budget, I will keep the rental contracts active for two days and then, at the end of the season, I will terminate all rental contracts with an expiry date of more than two days. I have only rented cards with Termination Escrow equal to 0 and therefore I will not have to pay any penalty in case of early termination of the rental contracts. I will spend a total of $1.92 (0.96 * 2) and will only rent more cards (within my budget) if I find it difficult to get into Champion III league. The cards I rented I rented 6 top-level summoner cards and 33 monster cards. In the following list you can see all the cards I rented: - Zintar Mortalis, Beta, Level 8 - Malric Inferno, Beta, Level 8 - Bortus, Untamed, Level 8 - Wizard of Eastwood, Untamed, Level 8 - Mother Khala, Untamed, Level 8 - Camila Sungazer, Untamed, Level 4 - The Vigilator, Untamed, Level 4 - Diamond Dragon, Untamed, Level 4 - Dragon Jumper, Untamed, Level 4 - Robo-Dragon Knight, Reward, Level 2 - Red Dragon, Promo, Level 4 - Gold Dragon, Alpha, Level 4 - High Priest Darius, Untamed, Level 4 - Spirit of the Forest, Alpha, Level 3 - Frost Giant, Beta, Level 4 - Elemental Phoenix, Alpha, Level 4 - Magnor, Untamed, Level 3 - Hobgoblin, Reward, Level 6 - War Chaang, Untamed, Level 6 - Fiendish Harpy, Promo, Level 6 - The Gorlodon, Untamed, Level 6 - Dark Enchantress, Alpha, Level 6 - Javelin Thrower, Reward, Level 7 - Khmer Princess, Untamed, Level 8 - Ice Pixie, Untamed, Level 8 - Water Elemental, Alpha, Level 7 - Cerberus, Alpha, Level 8 - Fire Demon, Alpha, Level 4 - Kobold Bruiser, Untamed, Level 7 - Kobold Miner, Beta, Level 8 - Serpentine Spy, Untamed, Level 10 - Feasting Seaweed, Untamed, Level 10 - Albatross, Untamed, Level 6 - Sabre Shark, Beta, Level 9 - Undead Badger, Untamed, Level 10 - Maggots, Untamed, Level 10 - Animated Corpse, Alpha, Level 10 - Parasitic Growth, Untamed, Level 10 Thanks to renting the cards listed above I have more than doubled my power score. I now have a power score of 612841 points, which means that I have met the first requirement to enter the Champion III league. What I need to try to do now is to exceed the rating score of 3700 points which guarantees me access to the Champion III league. **Will I reach my end-of-season goal?** If you like, follow me to find out if my end-of-season strategy choice will have the desired effect or if it will turn out to be completely wrong! Which strategy have you chosen to follow for the end of the current season of Splinterlands? Tell me in a comment below this post and I will read your comment with great pleasure. Road to 1 Million Starbits: 73% Completed ***Cover Image****: Logo Rising Star owned by* *Rising Star* *- Font used is Open Source - Edit by @libertycrypto27* https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=libertycrypto27 **Rising Star** is one of my favourite blockchain-based games. Today I wanted to share my progress towards my first goal in the game, which is to become a millionaire: accumulate **1 million STARBITS**. The last time I checked my progress towards my goal was 26 days ago (13 May 2021). On May 13, I had accumulated a total of 624123 STARBITS tokens. Today, June 9, 2021, I have **902 STARBITS** tokens in my in-game wallet. I have **737000 STARBITS** tokens staked inside the Record Staking section of Rising Star. I have **1971 STARBITS** tokens in my HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex wallet While playing Rising Star, I've earned a total of **739873 STARBITS** tokens (902+737000+1971), which means I'm **73.98%** of the way to one million STARBITS. I chose the million STARBITS as my main goal because when I become a STARBITS millionaire, I will receive the **STARBITS Millionaire** card! At the time of writing this post there are 985 active players on Rising Star and only 119 players own a Starbits Millionaire card. The Starbits Millionaire card gives you a great advantage: access to the **STARBITS Millionaire** mission once a day, which has a fixed prize of 10000 STARBITS. Record Staking My race towards my goal has been given a pleasant boost by the introduction of the **Record Staking** feature. Whenever I get more than 1000 STARBITS tokens from completing a mission, I immediately put my STARBITS tokens into staking. I started stacking my STARBITS tokens 39 days ago. In 39 days, I have earned **60032 STARBITS** tokens with an average gain of 1539 STARBITS tokens per day (60032 STARBITS / 39 days). Today, June 9, 2021, **60032 STARBITS tokens** are worth **12.68 HIVE** = $4.81 (Highest Bid on HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex. The Record Staking section of the Rising Star game allows you to earn STARBITS tokens in a completely passive way and for this reason I am very happy with my result. How soon will I reach my goal? Twenty-six days ago, I had **624123 STARBITS** in my gaming wallet. Over the past 26 days, I have increased the amount of STARBITS tokens in my possession by 115750 units (739873 - 624123). In twenty-six days I have had an average daily increase of **4451.92 STARBITS per day** ( (739873 - 624123) / 26 ). Based on the current value of STARBITS tokens (Highest BID on HiveEngine/LeoDex) I have earned the equivalent of **0.94 HIVE** per day (**$0.35** per day). If I maintain the same average daily gain of the last 26 days I should reach one million STARBITS in about **59 days**. (1000000 - 739873) / 4451.92 = 58.43 (days). My goal is getting closer and closer and in just under two months I should reach it! Fans, Luck, Skill and Ego As for my game stats, I increased the number of cards from my last report (4 more cards): - I bought two cards from the Rising Star market to increase my number of Fans and to be able to do the first mission of the County Tour zone. - I received two cards thanks to the participation in two giveaways. Expanding my card collection is important but not my main goal because it would slow down my path to one million STARBITS. Expanding my card collection will be my next main goal but only when I have one million STARBITS. My other game stats are as follows: - **1974 Fans** (1859 permanent + 115 temporary) - **473 Luck Points** - **6355 Skill Points** - **33 IM Points** My **EGO** is still worth **0%**. The EGO factor above 0% negatively affects the growth path in the game because it reduces the rewards that can be obtained from quests. My current total Ego score is **6152** points (was 5351 26 days ago). My **margin of advantage** over the Ego ( **Ego Points - Skill Points**) has shrunk since the previous report, and I will soon have to do the music lessons as well to keep the ego percentage from going above 0%. My advantage over the Ego is **203 points** (6355 - 6152). Number of Completed Missions So far I have completed **1739 missions** and in the last 26 days I have completed 137 missions (average of about 5 missions per day). Theoretically I could do at least twice as many missions, but in practice my work schedule doesn't allow it. In 261 quests I will receive a free pack of cards. Considerations about STARBITS tokens I would like to conclude this report with a look at the trend of the native token of the Rising Star game: the **STARBITS** token. As you can see from the chart below, the STARBITS token is in "good health" even though it has lost some value in recent days. Another positive sign is the daily trading volume which has increased compared to the past. The use cases of STARBITS tokens have increased compared to the past. With STARBITS tokens it is possible to: - buy Rising Star cards and card packs - create musical NFTs - obtain STARPRO tokens (Music Promoter section of Rising Star) - Promote a post or project within the Rising Star game. - ... In general, the more use cases there are, the more valuable a token becomes. You are not a Rising Star player? If this is the first time you've heard of **Rising Star** I'll tell you in brief what it is. **Rising Star** is a fun and easy to play game. The **purposes of the game** is to create a music band and become a **music star**. Rising Star is a game that I have classified as "**No Risk**" because it does **not require any kind of initial investment**! - **Requirements:** You must have an account **Hive** If you don't have a Hive account you can create it easily and in a few steps. I wrote a short tutorial where I explain how to do it: HIVE: Registration and First Login with PeakD https://peakd.com/hive-177682/@libertycrypto27/hive-registration-and-first-login-with-peakd-tutorial - **Login mode:** only **Hive Keychain**. - Hive Keychain for **Brave** or **Chrome** Link https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hive-keychain/jcacnejopjdphbnjgfaaobbfafkihpep - Hive Keychain for **Firefox** Link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hive-keychain/ Want to know 6 reasons why you should play Rising Star? GLORIDAX MAGUS: My Card Collection Optimization ***Cover Image****: Logo and Card images owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* With this post I return to write about my favourite blockchain-based game and continue to share my choices for optimising my card collection. Two days ago I bought the level 6 summoner card Daria Dragonscale. Today I decided to buy a legendary card that can be useful in battle and has one of my favourite abilities: the Blast ability. The card I decided to buy is the level 3 Gloridax Magus card. **Gloridax Magus** is a card that is part of the **Untamed** collection and is available in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. It is a **Legendary** card and is a card of the element **Dragon**. **Gloridax Magus** of **level 3** has the following stats: - It has a **mana cost of 6 points**. - It has 2 magic attack points - Has **6 life points** and has no armor points. - Has a **low speed** (**2**) - It has three abilities: **Blast**,**Knock Out** and **Shatter**. Among the legendary cards available for purchase on the Splinterlands market, Gloridax Magus is the cheapest card: $1.75 (BCX price=1). There are cards that are much stronger and more useful in battle than Gloridax Magus but also have a much higher price. For the purchase I used the credits I had in my in-game wallet from Splinterlands. I already had 2 Gloridax Magus cards in my collection and to get Gloridax Magus level 3 I needed to buy 4 more cards. In fact, level 3 Gloridax Magus is the result of combining 6 level 1 cards. So I bought 4 Gloridax Magus level 1 cards from the player monsterveritas. As you can see from the following image I spent a total of 7012 Credits which is the equivalent of $7,012. **Why did I choose to buy the level 3 Gloridax Magus card?** **First reason** I consider Gloridax Magus to be an underrated card in terms of its current price. There are cards that have less useful battle abilities and worse battle stats that cost much more. Also, Gloridax Magus is part of the Untamed collection and Untamed card packs are running out and I think its price might go up in the future. **Second reason** Gloridax Magus is a useful card in battle. The Blast ability is especially useful when the battle rule is one between Target Practice and Opportunity because if the card hit by Gloridax Magus is between two cards, the total enemy cards hit become three. The Knock Out ability is especially useful if you have cards with the Stun ability lined up with Gloridax Magus. A card in a "Stunned" state will suffer a double attack from Gloridax Magus. The Shatter ability allows Gloridax Magus to remove the armor points of the enemy card it attacked. **Third reason** The level 1 Gloridax Magus card isn't very useful in battle because of its one-unit magic attack. The two tier 1 cards I had in my collection I would never use in battle because I have much better cards. Gloridax Magus level 3 is useful and in fact in the past I rented it often during the last days of the Splinterlands season. Having already two level 1 cards in my collection I preferred to buy 4 more cards and get a level 3 Gloridax Magus card instead of selling my two cards that as I wrote before could be worth more in the future. Conclusion I am happy with my purchase also because I spent 7$ but I got the following benefits: - I have added to my collection a card useful in battle when there are particular battle rules and so I have an additional option to choose from. - I increased my power score by 4000 points for only 7$. - I have one less card to rent the last two days before the end of the season. In fact Gloridax Magus level 3 is one of the cards I have often rented in the past. My Road to 30000 Hive Power: Hive Considerations + May Report ***Cover Image****: Background image is* *CC0 image* *- edit by @libertycrypto27 - Font used is Open Source* https://pixabay.com/it/photos/strada-panorama-orizzonte-dritto-3478977/ I joined the world of **Hive** on March 5, 2019 and since that day it has been 2 years and 3 months. Hive is my favourite blockchain project and it is on Hive that I decided to focus more than other blockchain projects and that is why I never did a Power Down. After my first year on Hive I started setting growth goals in terms of Hive Power (HIVE staked). The first goal I set for myself was to reach **10000 HP** by February 28, 2021. I reached the 10,000 HP goal 4 months early (11 November 2020), so I decided to set another goal right away that was much more difficult to reach but at the same time more motivating: **30,000 HP by 31 December 2021**. When I passed 10000 HP HIVE was worth about less than 1/3 of what it is worth today: **$0.12**. With such a low value it was easier to accumulate HIVE because a low value discourages users who only look at the short term and therefore there were fewer active users which means fewer posts to divide the HIVE Reward Pool over. I strongly believe in the project of Hive in the medium-long term and I don't let myself be influenced by the value of HIVE in the short term and my activity on Hive is not influenced by its price but only by the time I have available. And in fact in this month of May, due to work and family commitments, I had little time to dedicate to Hive compared to previous months. Today 7 June 2021 **1 HIVE** is worth **$0.42** while exactly one month ago (7 May 2021) 1 HIVE was worth **$0.57**. In one month 1 HIVE has lost almost 0.15$ of value but as I wrote before I don't care about this value because I consider Hive one of the most useful and undervalued projects of the whole blockchains panorama. When HIVE has a low value it is the best time to try to be even more active than when HIVE has a high value because it is easier to accumulate HIVE. Having more HIVEs means you have the ability to convert your HIVEs into Hive Power (HIVE staked = Power UP) which equates to having more weight within the Hive blockchain. Having **more Hive Power** is equivalent to having: - **more voting power** to reward favourite authors and at the same time earn from the voting activity (50% author and 50% curators). - **more voting power** to choose Hive Witnesses - **more voting power** to decide which proposals should be funded and which not - **more Resource Credits**: + Resource Credits = + actions and transactions on the Hive blockchain. **Setting and planning goals is the first step to reach them** and for this reason every month I write a monthly report to analyze my activity on Hive, to monitor my path towards the achievement of my goals and especially to self-motivate me to reach my goals. Here are all the goals that I have set for myself on Hive and that I would like to achieve. My goals on Hive **Main Goal:** **30000 HP** **Secondary goals** - **Reputation Goal**: 76 - **Goal Total Number of Posts**: 1300 - **Engagement Goal** (total number of comments): 15000 - **Onboarding Goal**: at least 28 people. - **Followers Goal**: 1000 Progress status Start from the main goal Main goal: **To be achieved by 31 December 2021** I have built a table so that I can monitor my progress towards my main goal and I have divided my main goal into smaller intermediate goals of monthly duration. As you can see indicated in the fifth column of the table in the image below the intermediate target to be reached in May was **1807.63 HIVE**. My Wallet On 1 May 2021 my Wallet had a value of 15538,978 HIVE (HIVE+HP+HBD). On 1 June 2021 I took the screenshot of my Wallet at: https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/wallet (image below). My Wallet counted: **16104.525 HP**, **0.588 HIVE** and **43.437 HBD**. Adding up all the data (HIVE+HP+HBD), the total value of my portfolio was **16208,534 HIVE** (1 May 2021) The increase in value of my wallet in **HIVE** (HP+HDB+HIVE) that I achieved in May was **669.56 HIVE**. This is lower than the previous month's result of **764.89 HIVE**. The monthly percentage increase is also lower: **+4.31%** (previous month: **+5.18%**). I updated the table with the June results and, as you can see from the image below, I did not reach the intermediate monthly target. To reach 30000 HP I need to accumulate 13791.47 HIVE and to do so by 31 December 2021 I need to accumulate an average of 1970.21 per month. Based on the current value of HIVE my account has an estimated value of **$6883** (previous month: $9227). If I divide this value by the total number of months since I signed up, I get a monthly value of approximately **$261.55** ($7062 / 27 months). Secondary Goals I have also set secondary goals that I consider important even though they are secondary. Reputation Goal: 76 On Hive, each account is associated with a numerical value located right after the username: the **reputation**. Reputation is not always a true value because in the past the use of bid-bots was tolerated. Today the use of Bid-Bots is strongly discouraged on Hive and I am happy about that. I have never used Bid-bots and my reputation is solely the result of my posting and interaction on Hive. Reputation is an indicator that differentiates Hive from other centralised and traditional platforms. In fact, in traditional, centralised blogging platforms such as Facebook, it is not the type of user activity or the quality of the content they publish that is important. The only really important aspect for Facebook & Co. is user data and in particular data that outlines user preferences and tastes is important, data that is very valuable and can be sold to companies interested in this data and therefore is highly monetisable data. On 1 May 2021, my reputation was **73.06**. On 1 June 2021 my reputation was **73.22**. In one month my reputation increased by **0.16** points with a monthly percentage increase of **+0.22%**. According to the site information: https://hivebuzz.me/ranking I am at position number **565** in the reputation ranking of all Hive users (last month I was at position number **592**). Total Number of Posts: 1300 On Hive I discovered the pleasure of writing and publishing content. I don't consider myself a blogger at all, but I like to write posts about my passions, my thoughts or about decentralised projects that I like. Until the first of June, I have published a total of 955 posts. In May, I published **34 posts**, 10 more than in March. In order to reach my final goal, I should be able to publish another **345 posts** in 7 months and therefore I should publish at least 49 posts every month (49.28 to be precise). Engagement Goal (total number of comments): 15000 Among my secondary goals the total number of comments is the goal I care most about because without **interaction** there is no community and the strength of Hive is mainly its big community. Interacting with other Hive users is also a moment of confrontation and growth. Interacting on Hive mainly means writing comments on other authors' posts and responding to the comments you receive. In November 2020, I also set a target for the number of comments: 15000 comments by the end of 2021. In 2 years and 3 months I have written a total of **9955 comments** with an average of about 12 comments per day. In order to reach 15000 comments by 31 December 2021, I need to write another 5045 comments in 7 months (about 720 comments per month). I hope to have more time to dedicate to Hive in the coming months so that I can reach my goal. Onboarding goal: at least 28 people This is another goal that is very important to me and in fact I am continuously promoting Hive. In May I didn't manage to bring new users to Hive but I talked about Hive with several people I met in the park near my house. About ten people were very interested and I offered my support to help them take their first steps on Hive: - 30 HP in delegation for one month - my support on Discord We'll see in the next days if my promotion activity will be successful or not... Target Followers: 1000 In May 19 Hive users chose to follow me and I now have 687 followers. May: Considerations Like April, May was a month full of work and family commitments. The fine weather has also started and if I have free time I use it to take my daughter to the park near my home. Family and work commitments always take priority and it is only right that they should. For all these reasons, I have spent less time on Hive than in previous months. The less time I have available to dedicate to Hive has resulted in a decrease in both total rewards from posting and total rewards from my curation activity. - Total Author Rewards (HP): **434.82 HIVE** (last month: **545.69 HIVE**) - Total Curation Rewards (HP): **141.04 HIVE** (last month: **160 HIVE**) Conclusion This month I hope to have more free time to post more content and most importantly I hope to have more time to spend interacting and reading the posts of other Hive users. As I do every month at the end of my monthly Hive report I want to thank all the people who follow me, all the people who read and comment on my posts and all the people who support me and have contributed to the growth of my account. A special thanks goes to @fedesox, the creator of the [Olio di Balena](https://peakd.com/c/hive-146620/created) community of which I am a happy moderator. Fedesox has supported me constantly since the beginning of my adventure on Hive and he supports and encourages the posting activity of many other Hive users. I would also like to thank @phage93 and the lovely community of @discovery-it for the support received on some of my posts and for their willingness to answer some of my questions. In May I became a curator of discovery-it and so in June I will begin a new, exciting and enjoyable commitment on Hive that I will try to carry out in the best possible way to repay the trust placed in me. I have written a short tutorial where I show you how to do it: HIVE: Registration and First Login with PeakD https://peakd.com/hive-177682/@libertycrypto27/hive-registration-and-first-login-with-peakd-tutorial The images in this post are screenshots taken from the sites: https://peakd.com/ https://hivestats.io/ https://hivebuzz.me/ https://coinmarketcap.com/ The images that contain calculations and formulas are my property The font I used in my images or in the images I edited is Open Source **Follow me also on:** Twitter: **https://twitter.com/libertycrypto27** Publish0x: **https://www.publish0x.com/libertycrypto27?a=MYervALeOB** Hive: **https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/posts** NoiseCash: **https://noise.cash/u/libertycrypto27** Blurt: **https://blurtter.com/@libertycrypto27**

The estimated value of the Untamed packs of cards and my purchase of 100 packs of cards On May 31, 2021, just after the Splinterlands season ended, I bought 110 packs of Untamed cards from the Shop on the Splinterlands website and used 200000 DEC tokens for the purchase. In this post I will explain the reason for my purchase, which is closely related to the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards. In fact, a pack of Untamed cards has an estimated value which is not a certain value but a value that becomes more and more accurate as the number of packs purchased increases (starting from 500 packs of cards and going up in number). To find out the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards you can consult: : - the https://peakmonsters.com/packs site (packs section) - the website https://www.splintercards.com/tool-packvalue.html (tools section) The highest estimated value is obtained by using 5 Alchemical potions and 5 Legendary potions per pack of Untamed cards. On 31 May, the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards was $2.32 (using market prices and using both potions). I compared the estimated value with the price of the Untamed card packs considering the different purchase options: - purchase via the Splinterlands website (using DEC credits and tokens) - Purchase via HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex Based on HIVE and DEC token values as of May 31, 2021, the lowest cost of a pack of Untamed cards was found to be the cost of purchasing 500 packs of cards in bulk from the Splinterlands Shop: **$1.58** per pack To get this price you needed to have 1 million DEC tokens to invest and I only had 200000 DEC tokens. So I checked the cost of buying 100 packs of Untamed cards in bulk from the Splinterlands website and found the second best price: $1.65 per pack. I calculated the difference between Estimated Value and Purchase Cost and got a very positive result: **+0.66755$**. As you can see from the following image, each pack of Untamed cards has an estimated value that is higher than the purchase cost (in case you don't have to buy potions). In case you don't have potions available the difference is still positive but not enough to justify a purchase according to my strategy of buying Untamed or Dice packs. In fact the card pack buying strategy I decided to follow is the following: I buy a pack of cards only if the difference between the estimated value and the purchase cost is more than 0.4$. This explains the reason for my purchase: 100 packs of Untamed cards (+10 bonus). After the purchase I opened 47 packs of Untamed cards. Based on the estimated value of **$2.32** per pack of cards there are **three possible scenarios**: - **Lucky scenario**: The total value of the cards inside the packs is higher than the **$109.4** value corresponding to the following multiplication: ($2.32 * 47 packs). - **Estimated scenario** (highly unlikely): the total value of the cards coincides with the total estimated value which is $109.4. - **Unfortunate scenario**: the total value of the cards inside the packs is less than the value of $109.4. Based on the purchase cost, I make a profit if the cards in the card packs have a total value of more than $77.66515 ($1.65245 * 47). Inside the card packs I found 235 cards. The highest value card I found was the **Scarred Llama Mage** summoner card: value of about $28. The 47 packs of cards I opened cost me $77.66515 and the total value of the cards I found inside the packs was $80.5. I wasn't very lucky and in fact I fell into the unlucky scenario but I still had a profit even if it was small: +2.83$. 47 packs of cards are few to hope to get a real value of the cards found close to the estimated value and therefore luck always plays a key role. I have not been lucky in opening packs, but I think my buying strategy is correct in the medium to long term and I will continue to follow it. I only opened 47 packs of cards because I used up all the potions I got from the rewards of the daily quests and the seasonal quests. Now I have 63 Untamed packs to open but I'm not in a hurry and I won't be buying potions from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website. I will open a new pack of cards every time I collect 5 alchemical potions and 5 legendary potions from completing the Splinterlands daily quests. In July there will be the airdrop of the new SPS tokens that Splinterlands will award to its players on a daily basis for over a year based on the points shown in the table in the image below. In order to get more points for future airdrops I will sell all the cards I don't use in battle because the conversion value of most Splinterlands cards into DEC (Collection Power) is less than the amount of DEC you can get from selling the cards. Selling cards that are useful in battle is counterproductive because the SPS tokens will be awarded not only in the airdrop, which will last about a year, but also as prizes in tournaments and battles. Is Splinterlands a Good Investment? 19 Months Later ... ***Cover Image****: Logo image owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* Today 27 May 2021 marks exactly 19 months and 9 days that I have been a Splinterlands player. It was in fact 19 October 2019 when I decided to pay $10 to sign up for what immediately became and still is my favourite blockchain-based game. When I like a project, whether it's a game or any other activity, I like to keep track of my progress. When a game includes the possibility to buy and sell cards (NFT), to buy and sell tokens (DEC) and to buy and sell other game elements (plots...) it is never just a game but it is in fact also an investment. For this reason, every month I write a report in which I consider Splinterlands only from a financial point of view and calculate the ROI and any profit or loss I have made. **Note**: In the numbers in this report the comma "**,**" and the dot "**.**" are both decimal separators. Here are the topics I will be covering in my 19th monthly report: Report topics - **Final Result Previous Report** - **Valuation of Splinterlands as an Investment (after 18 months)** - Total Investment Cost - Total Revenues - Value of my card collection - Value of accumulated DEC tokens - Revenue from selling DEC tokens - Value of Plots - Revenue from Farms DEC - BUSD LP (CubFinance) - **Profit/Loss calculation** - **ROI Calculation** - **Final Considerations** - **Month by month history of my investment in Splinterlands**. - **Does anyone who signs up today still have a chance to make a good profit?** - Considerations Final Result Previous Report *** As I have done for all my previous reports, the starting point for this my latest Splinterlands monthly report is the result I recorded in my previous monthly report: https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/is-splinterlands-a-good-investment-18-months-later-roi-and-considerations-89a88011 As you can see from the two graphs in the following images the result I got in the previous report and then after 18 months was my best result ever For an investment of 313$ I got a total **profit** of **1046.56$** and a **ROI** of **334.33%**. Now it's time to check whether after another month my profit has increased in value or decreased in value. Valuation of Splinterlands as an Investment (after 18 months) To evaluate any investment it is always necessary to compare costs and revenues. Below I will calculate the total costs I have incurred to date and the total revenue I have earned to date. Total investment cost The total cost of my investment on Splinterlands is given by the following sum: **Subscription cost (Starter Set: 10$) + Total cost of Cards purchased + Total cost of DECs purchased + Total cost of Plots purchased** Since the date of my last report (May 3, 2021) and up to today May 27, 2021: - I have purchased **3 packs of Untamed cards** from the https://hive-engine.com/ marketplace - total cost **$5.19** - I have purchased **8 packs of Dice cards** from https://hive-engine.com/ marketplace - total cost **$16.49** - I have rented **32 cards** from **Peakmonsters** market (https://peakmonsters.com/) - rental duration: 2 days - total cost of rental: **$1.64** I have spent a total of **$23.32** which adds up to the total cost of my investment in Splinterlands which is now the following sum: total investment cost previous report + cost of buying packs of Untamed and Dice cards + cost of renting cards for the season finale. **313.03 $ + 23.32 $ = 336.35 $**. Revenues In the game of Splinterlands the revenues consists of: - the market value of the **Cards** that compose a collection of cards - the value obtained from the sale of the cards - the value of the **DEC** (Dark Energy Crystal) tokens accumulated and not reinvested. - the value obtained from the sale of the **DEC** tokens. - the market value of the purchased plots. - The value obtained from the sale of the plots. - The value obtained from the use of DEC tokens in a Farm. How much are my cards worth? To find out the total dollar value of my card collection, I always use the **Peakmonsters** website (https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/collection), which in the **Collection** section provides a calculation of the value of my card collection. The peakmonsters site calculates the value of my collection based on two different prices: **Market prices** and **List prices**. To calculate the value of my card collection I always consider the lower of: - the **total value** using **Market Prices**. - the **total value** using **List Prices**. **Note:** In the calculation of revenues these two values are estimated values because they both consider the case in which the cards are all sold at the prices indicated. In reality, there are cards that are easier to sell and others that are less easy to sell, even though up to now I have always managed to sell all the cards I put on the market at the lowest market price. If I wanted to calculate the exact value of my card collection I would have to consider only the BID Price (the immediately monetizable value) for each card in my collection and the calculation would become very time consuming because my card collection consists of 1403 cards (4100 BCX) and for this reason I am happy with an approximation. On 26 March 2021 my card collection had a value of **$819.63** (using Market prices) On 3 May 2021 my card collection was worth **1164.44 $** (using Market prices) Today 27 May 2021 my card collection had a value of **1349.09 $** (using Market prices) In my previous report I recorded an increase in value (**+ $344.81**) and this month there has been an increase in the value of my card collection although this time the increase is less than the previous month: **+ 184.65$**. This increase is partly due to the 13 packs of cards I bought, but it is mainly due to the general increase in the value of the cards that continues to rise and this price increase is a good sign for Splinterlands but also for all its players. How much are the DEC tokens I have in my wallet worth? The **DEC** (Dark Energy Crystal) are the **Tokens** native to the game of Splinterlands, you get them as a reward for each battle you win within the game and you can find them inside the chests you receive as a reward for completing daily quests and for the achievement in the Splinterlands seasons (every 15 days). DEC tokens are utility tokens because they have many use cases: - they can be sold and bought on HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex. - they can be used to buy cards, potions, starter sets - they can be used in the DeFi platforms of CubFinance and UniSwap. So far I have accumulated a total of **121077** **DEC** tokens on my internal Splinterlands wallet (previous month: 84054 DEC tokens). Today May 27, 2021, as you can see from the calculations in the image below, the dollar value of **121077** **DEC** is **107.66 $** (Highest Bid on LeoDex/HiveEngine) Returns from the sale of DEC tokens on Hive Engine Since I've been signed up on Splinterlands I've been using DEC tokens to buy cards to boost my card collection except on one occasion when I decided to sell DEC tokens to power up on Hive and increase my amount of HP (Hive Power). On October 5, 2020, I sold 81000 DECs on the Hive Engine marketplace and received **400.14 HIVE** in exchange for a value at the time of sale of **64.8 $**. How much are my Plots worth? On 21 November 2020 I bought 3 Plots at a great price: **7500 DEC** per plot. So I spent a total of **22500 DEC** whose $ value at the time of purchase was **19.66 $**. The **plots** can be purchased directly from the Splinterlands website for **$20** but can also be purchased from LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex site. At the time of writing this post the best sale offer for a Plot on Hive Engine is 48.5 HIVE equivalent to 23.959$ so if you are interested in buying a Plot you should buy it directly from the Splinterlands internal shop or you can try to make a BID. In my report I consider the value of the Highest BID on https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=PLOT which is **35 HIVE**. So the total value of the three plots in my possession is 35 HIVE * 3 plots = **105 HIVE** = **51.87$** (previous report value: 43.55$) Farm DEC-USBD LP I use the Farm DEC-USBD LP from https://cubdefi.com/ where I have put just over 24000 DECs to work. I am getting CUB tokens from this Farm and to date I have gotten 2,959 CUBs. The value of the CUB tokens has decreased compared to the previous month but I still earned $2.7. Now a little calculation... Now I have all the data I need (Total Costs and Total Revenues) to be able to calculate the financial results (Profit and ROI) I have obtained from my investment on Splinterlands in 19 months. Profit **( Revenues - Costs )** I am happy to see that my profit has increased again this month. I spent $23.32 this month (card pack purchase and card rental cost) but had an increase in profit of $193.21 compared to the previous monthly report. This is a smaller increase than the previous month (+$358.88) but still a very good result. As you can see from the calculations in the following image my **profit** after 19 months and 8 days since my registration on Splinterlands is **$1239.77** (previous report $1046.56) ROI **( Return On Investment )** My profit has increased and consequently the ROI has also increased. The ROI I have calculated is 368.60% (ROI previous monthly report 334.33%). Final Considerations I'm getting happier and happier that I decided to play and invest in Splinterlands. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner but when Splinterlands was born I didn't even know the meaning of Blockchains. In just over 19 months I have made a profit of **1239.77$** and achieved a **ROI** of **368.60%**. How many investments do you know of that give you these percentages of return on your initial investment? I know a few! How many investments allow you to gain value and at the same time have fun with a game of cards and strategy? I know even fewer. Splinterlands again this month confirms to be a really nice and fun game but also a great investment! Month by month history of my investment in Splinterlands Below you can see the history of my personal investment on Splinterlands regarding the ROI and Profit I have obtained month by month and from the sixth month onwards. Obviously, when a game based on blockchain is successful, those who signed up earlier have earned much more than those who signed up several months later. The logical question a new player might ask is the following: **If I sign up today, do I still have a chance to make good profits?** I can't answer this question because I don't have the ability to predict the future (unfortunately :). **I recommend signing up for Splinterlands because it is first and foremost a fun game.** I have tried several blockchain based games and currently play 6 different blockchain based games but so far I have never found a better game than Splinterlands. **I highly recommend signing up for Splinterlands because the $10 entry fee is easily recouped in no time by participating in the contests that the @splinterlands account runs every week.** All participants will receive an upvote from the @steemmonsters account based on the effort they put into writing their contest post. In the image below you can see the two votes I received from Splinterlands on my last two Splinterlands contest posts: The two votes I received from @steemmonsters equate to approximately **$7,153** [(8,332+5,974)/2]. **7,153$** is **71%** of the registration cost of Splinterlands. In addition, Splinterlands offers many other earning opportunities... Will ROI and Profit grow in the next month or will they decline? I need more fans! First mission of the County Tour zone + My buying strategy ***Cover Image:*** *Logo Rising Star owned by* *Rising Star* *- Font used is Open Source - Edit by @libertycrypto27* https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=libertycrypto27 **Rising Star**, is one of my favourite blockchain-based games. I am continuing my fun musical adventure playing Rising Star and today I want to share my progress within the game and, because I need to increase my total number of Fans, I also want to share my strategy of buying Rising Star cards. My current game level is **level 81**. Exactly one month ago, after doing a total of 26 Band Auditions missions, I finally formed my own music band. Although I've had access to the Conty Tour zone for several days now, I still haven't done the first mission, which is called Band Rehearsal. The reason is that I have not yet fulfilled all the requirements for the Band Rehearsal mission. In fact, in order to do the Band Rehearsal mission you need to meet all the following requirements: - A **number of Fans** greater than or equal to **1750**. - **level 80** - Time required to complete the mission: **5 minutes** - **15 % of energy**. - have in your collection one of the two "Location" cards available in the game. I am only missing two requirements - a **number of Fans** equal to or greater than **1750** - the location card "**Fist Rehearsal Room**". Let's start with the first requirement. I need more Fans! As you can see from the following image I have a total number of **FANS** equal to **1713** and therefore I only need **37 Fans** to be able to complete the **Band Rehearsal** mission. I actually need even more Fans because I only have 1609 permanent Fans and the remaining number of Fans (104) are temporary Fans. Temporary Fans are received as a random reward for completing missions but have a temporary duration of 12 hours. If I want to permanently increase my number of Fans to always have a minimum of 1750 Fans I must necessarily **buy one or more cards** with the Fans attribute greater than 0 points and if I buy more cards the sum of the points of the Fans attributes must be equal to or greater than 141 Fans points. My buying strategy I have already shown in previous posts how I choose which cards to buy. Based on the attribute of the card I need I calculate the attribute score/$ ratio in order to choose the card that has the best benefit/cost ratio. As for my goal to increase the number of my Fans, I want to increase the number of my Fans but at the same time I don't want to increase the value of my Ego. So I explored the Rising Star market and only considered cards with the following characteristic: - a **Fans attribute less than or equal to the SKill attribute** (so as not to increase the score of my Ego). In order to choose the cheapest card to buy from my selection, I calculated the **FANS/$** ratio using both **SWAP.HIVE** tokens and **STARBITS** tokens (Rising Star's native game tokens) as the payment method. The **FANS/$** ratio indicates how many Fans I get for every dollar I spend, so **the higher the value of this ratio, the cheaper my purchase is**. In the table in the image below you can see the calculation of the **FANS/$** ratio for all Rising Star cards that have a **FANS** attribute less than or equal to the **SKILL** attribute. Based on the FANS/$ ratio and based on the values of **HIVE** and **STARBITS** tokens, the best card to purchase is the **R22 Derek** card which has the highest FANS/$ ratio and the most cost saving method of purchase is using STARBITS tokens. In fact, the R22 Derek card has a **FANS/$** ratio value of **107.67** which is the highest value of all the cards that have the Skill attribute greater than or equal to the Fans attribute. Because I am 191 Fans points short, I could have purchased 2 "R22 Derek" cards, but I chose to purchase 2 different cards to increase the number of unique cards in my card collection (useful for Rising Star ranking). In order to purchase Rising Star cards using STARBITS tokens, you need to have the necessary amount to purchase them on https://hive-engine.com/. I transferred **25000 STARBITS** from the in-game wallet to my wallet on Hive Engine and purchased: - One **R22 Derek** card from the player @liuke96player (FANS/$ ratio = 107.67) - One **R54 Ellie** card from the player @untalpeque (FANS/$ ratio = 1001.21) I now have a total number of fixed **Fans** of **1859**. The last requirement I need is the possession of the **First Rehearsal Room** card. The lowest price I could find was: **7000 STARBITS** (0.86$) I purchased the card from the player @shitsignals To purchase the three cards I used the **Marketplace** section of Rising Star. After the purchase I went to the **Your Collection** section of Rising Star and clicked on the **CLICK HERE** sign at the top as indicated by the arrows in the next picture. This is an operation that new players often don't know or don't perform and that's why I wanted to show it also in this post. In fact if you don't do this operation the card(s) you bought **will not be added to your card collection**. Now I have all the requirements to be able to do my first Band Rehearsal mission ;) The second mission in the County Tour zone has higher requirements to fulfill but I will take care of that when I reach level 85. If you've never made a purchase on the Rising Star marketplace, you can read the following post which may be helpful: https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@libertycrypto27/rising-star-how-to-buy-a-card-from-the-marketplace-come-comprare-una-carta-dal-mercato-eng-ita Thank you for reading and if you like, follow me to read my future posts on Rising Star ;) You are not a Rising Star player? If this is the first time you've heard of **Rising Star** I'll tell you in brief what it is. **Rising Star** is a fun and easy to play game. The **purposes of the game** is to create a music band and become a **music star**. Rising Star is a game that I have classified as "**No Risk**" because it does **not require any kind of initial investment**! - **Requirements:** You must have an account **Hive** If you don't have a Hive account you can create it easily and in a few steps. Considerations on cost and estimated value of Dice and Untamed card packs The prices of Splinterlands cards have increased significantly in value over the last few months. My card collection has also increased its value considerably. As you can see from the calculations in the image below, my card collection was worth **$519.24** on 4 March 2021 and is now worth **$1303.27**. With card prices so high it can be worthwhile to buy packs of cards. My buying strategy My buying strategy is based on **comparison of two values**: - **estimated value** of a pack of cards - **purchase cost** of a pack of cards. **When the estimated value of a pack of cards is at least $0.30 higher than the purchase cost, I buy one or more packs of cards**. Nine days ago I bought 3 packs of Untamed cards because I found a very good price. I wrote a post in which I calculated the convenience or otherwise of buying packs of Untamed cards and explained the reason for my purchase: Link: https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/the-buying-opportunities-that-splinterlands-offers-estimated-value-of-untamed-card-packs-fd3dbac4 Today I am going to calculate the cost-effectiveness or otherwise of buying DICE card packs based on the various purchasing methods available. In the image on the cover you can see the calculation of the current prices of DICE card packs according to the purchase method. In fact, DICE card packs (as well as Untamed packs) can mainly be purchased with: - **Credits** (1000 credits = 1$) on the Splinterlands website - **DEC tokens** on the Splinterlands website - **SWAP.HIVE** tokens on Hive Engine/LeoDEX. If you buy with credits, the cost is **3000 Credits** which equals **$3**. If you purchase with DEC tokens, the cost is variable and depends on the value of the DEC tokens and HIVE tokens at the time of purchase. Today, 17 May 2021, the purchase price of a DEC token is 0.199 HIVE = $0.00097. One HIVE token is worth $0.485. Based on the current values of HIVE and DEC tokens at the time of writing this post, buying a pack of DICE cards with DEC tokens is equivalent to spending **5.97 HIVE = $2.89**. On HiveEngine/LeoDex there are **2 packs of DICE cards** for sale for **4.95 HIVE (SWAP.HIVE) = 2.40$**. On the Splinterlands website (SHOP section) you can buy DICE card packs in blocks of 20 packs or 100 packs. Buying 20 packs of cards in bulk grants a bonus of one free pack of cards. Buying 100 packs of cards in bulk grants a bonus of 10 free packs of cards. Of the various purchase methods, the lowest price is obtained by using SWAP.HIVE tokens as a payment method and buying on Hive Engine/LeoDex. The estimated value of a pack of cards In order to decide whether buying a pack of cards can be profitable, it is important to know the estimated value of the pack of cards you want to buy. To find out the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards, I have always used the useful tool at https://peakmonsters.com/packs. However, this tool only calculates the estimated value of Untamed card packs and not of DICE packs. To find out the estimated value of a pack of DICE cards I used the tool made available by the site https://www.splintercards.com/ The site is young and still under development but the creator @tehox is doing a really good job and if you are a Splinterlands player I invite you to take a look at this useful site. According to Splintercards calculations the **estimated value** of a pack of **DICE** cards at the time of writing this post is: - **$2.00** in the situation where you have no potions - **2.51$** in the situation where Alchemical potions are used - **2.50$** when using Legendary potions - **3,216$** in the situation where both Alchemical and Legendary potions are used With very few exceptions, it is not advisable to open a DICE or UNTAMED card pack if you do not have a sufficient number of Alchemical and Legendary potions because in this case the estimated value is always lower than the purchase cost. The calculations change considerably in the following two cases: - You don't need to buy potions because you already have enough potions from completing the daily quests and the fortnightly seasons of Splinterlands for free. - It is necessary to buy potions. The potions have a cost that is added to the initial cost of the packet and to get the highest estimated value you need a total of 10 potions per packet of cards to open: - 5 Alchemical potions - 5 Legendary potions In the following image you can see the calculation of the estimated profit or loss in case you already have both potions available and do not need to buy them ( **Profit/Loss (Expected)** column). As you can see from the calculations, it is always worthwhile to buy a pack of cards, because the estimated value is always higher than the purchase price. The situation changes if you have to buy the necessary potions. To the cost of each pack of cards you have to add the cost of 10 potions ($0.42). In this case buying with credits and DEC tokens leads to an expected loss. Buying 20 packs of cards from the Splinterlands website leads to a minimal expected profit. Buying 100 packs of cards leads to an expected profit of $0.15. Buying 2 packs of cards from Hive Engine has the best expected positive result: +$0.38. I have performed the same calculations for buying packs of Untamed cards. Buying the DICE packs was the best purchase for today. In fact, for the Untamed packs of cards, the best expected profit was the one obtained by buying 500 packs of cards in bulk: Expected profit $0.52148 For DICE card packs the highest expected profit is produced by buying from Hive Engine/LeoDex: Expected profit 0.81177 Important note: the profit is called "expected" because it is not a certain value and the estimated value of a pack of cards becomes more accurate as the number of packs of cards purchased increases (500+...). I immediately bought 3 packs of DICE cards from Hive Engine and found even lower prices than I wrote in the table above: I preferred to leave in the table calculations the prices of the packs of cards still available for purchase on Hive Engine so that my calculations can be useful to my readers. Currently on sale: 1 pack of DICE cards for the price of 4.95 SWAP.HIVE and 50 packs of DICE cards for the price of 5.34 SWAP.HIVE. The expected profit is also very positive for the price of 5.34 SWAP.HIVE. After the purchase I decided to open the three packs of DICE cards immediately. 3 packs of cards are very few to hope to have a result in line with the estimated value and therefore in my case **luck will play a fundamental role**. Let's see what I found in the three packs of cards. As indicated by the Peakmonsters website the total value of the cards is $17.19 (14.89+1.14+1.16) using market prices. I spent $4.71 on the purchase of the 3 packs of cards. I was definitely lucky but regardless of the lucky or unlucky results I will receive in the future from opening a few packs of cards, I will continue to follow my buying strategy because I believe it is valid in the medium to long term. I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? The "Bottleneck Effect" and My New End-of-season Strategy ***Cover Image:*** *Logo and Card images owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* In the Splinterlands game there are daily missions and seasons that last 15 days. At the end of each season each player receives a number of chests as a reward. Each chest can contain a reward between: - a certain amount of **DEC tokens** (the game's native tokens) - a **card** (**NFT**) - a **potion** (useful when opening a pack of cards) Whoever finishes in the **Champion I** league receives **150 chests**, whoever finishes in the **Champion II** league receives **120 chests**... and it goes on from league to league until you reach the **Bronze** league, which entitles you to **7 chests**. In less than three days another season of Splinterlands will end and today I wanted to share my **new end of season strategy**. I wrote **new strategy** because I have decided to change the strategy I have followed in previous seasons. The reason for this change is the analysis of the results I have achieved in the past seasons and in particular the analysis of the results of the last two seasons of Splinterlands. I have long followed the following strategy for the end of the Splinterlands season: - I rent cards that are useful in battle from the market at https://peakmonsters.com/ - I rent the cards on the last day before the end of the Splinterlands season. - I choose rental contracts with a Termination Escrow equal to 0 so that I can terminate contracts lasting more than one day without having to pay penalties. - I set a rental budget that is directly proportional to the market value of the Splinterlands cards: if the cards have increased in value, I increase the rental budget and vice versa, in the opposite situation, I decrease it. This strategy has given me so far non-linear but fluctuating results. In fact, in the **season** relative to the period **1-15 April**: - I rented **30 cards** from the Peakmonsters market. - I spent **$0.78** as total rental cost - finished the season in **League Champion II**. - received **120 chests** as a reward in the **season** relative to the period **16-30 April**: - I rented **41 cards** from the Peakmonsters market - I spent **$1.38** as total rental cost - finished the season in **Diamond League I**. - received **60 chests** as a reward In the two following lists you can see the cards I rented on the last day of the last two finished seasons. **Season 1-15 April** - Parasitic Growth, Untamed, Level 10 - Wood Nymph, Reward, Level 8 - Flesh Golem, Beta, Level 9 - Kobold Miner, Beta, Level 9 - Grumpy Dwarf, Beta, Level 8 - Cerberus, Alpha, Level 7 - Electric Eels, Promo, Level 8 - Javelin Thrower, Reward, Level 7 - Manticore, Reward, Level 5 - Fire Demon, Beta, Level 6 - Daria Dragonscale, Reward, Level 6 - Mother Khala, Untamed, Level 8 - Zintar Mortalis, Beta, Level 8 - Lyanna Natura, Beta, Level 7 - Alric Stormbringer, Beta, Level 7 - Delwyn Dragonscale, Promo, Level 10 - Angel of Light, Alpha, Level 4 - Lord Arianthus, Reward, Level 3 - Red Dragon, Promo, Level 4 - Sacred Unicorn, Reward, Level 3 - Elemental Phoenix, Beta, Level 3 - Cornealus, Untamed, Level 3 - Magnor, Untamed, Level 4 - The Vigilator, Untamed, Level 4 - The Kraken, Reward, Level 4 - Camila Sungazer, Untamed, Level 4 - Robo-Dragon Knight, Reward, Level 1 - Diamond Dragon, Untamed, Level 4 - High Priest Darius, Untamed, Level 1 - Gloridax Magus, Untamed, Level 3 **Season 16-30 April** - Valnamor, Beta, Level 3 - Camila Sungazer, Untamed, Level 4 - Mimosa Nightshade, Untamed, Level 4 - Delwyn Dragonscale, Promo, Level 10 - Wizard of Eastwood, Untamed, Level 8 - Daria Dragonscale, Reward, Level 5 - Malric Inferno, Beta, Level 8 - The Peakrider, Beta, Level 4 - Zintar Mortalis, Beta, Level 8 - Gloridax Magus, Untamed, Level 3 - High Priest Darius, Untamed, Level 4 - Diamond Dragon, Untamed, Level 4 - Sacred Unicorn, Reward, Level 4 - Lightning Dragon, Beta, Level 4 - Cornealus, Untamed, Level 3 - Elemental Phoenix, Beta, Level 2 - Corrupted Pegasus, Promo, Level 4 - Lord Arianthus, Reward, Level 3 - Hydra, Beta, Level 1 - Gold Dragon, Alpha, Level 4 - Angel of Light, Alpha, Level 4 - Red Dragon, Promo, Level 4 - Elemental Phoenix, Alpha, Level 4 - Spirit of the Forest, Alpha, Level 3 - Ice Pixie, Untamed, Level 4 - Spineback Wolf, Alpha, Level 10 - Wood Nymph, Reward, Level 10 - Flesh Golem, Beta, Level 10 - Kobold Miner, Beta, Level 9 - Grumpy Dwarf, Beta, Gold, Level 6 - Cerberus, Alpha, Level 7 - Javelin Thrower, Reward, Level 7 - Manticore, Reward, Level 5 - Fire Demon, Beta, Level 6 - Fineas Rage, Reward, Level 8 - Wave Runner, Reward, Level 10 - Sea Monster, Reward, Level 9 - Electric Eels, Promo, Level 8 - Electric Eels, Promo, Level 8 - Water Elemental, Beta, Level 8 - Spineback Turtle, Beta, Level 10 The season in which I rented the most cards and spent almost twice as much on rental I achieved the worst result. In the two seasons the basic strategy was the same except for one thing: **the playing time**. In the season in which I reached the Champion II league I started my run to the Champion league as soon as I started on the last available day and reached the Champion II league 4-5 hours before the end of the season. In the season in which I reached the Diamond I league I started playing a few hours before the end of the season. The Bottle Neck Effect The failure of my last season was most probably caused by the "**Bottle Neck**" effect. In order to move up from league to league, a higher and higher rating score is required. When a player wins a battle against another player, his rating score will increase, depending on the difference in the ratings of the two opponents. The larger the rating of the defeated opponent is compared to the winning player in a battle, the higher the rating score of the player who wins the battle. Vice versa a battle lost against a player who has a much lower rating causes the losing player to lose many points. Each league has a seasonal ranking that rewards the best players with a certain number of Untamed card packs based on their rating score. On the last day of the season, those who have a high rating and are among the rewarded positions stop playing in order not to compromise their position in the ranking. In fact in the last hours before the end of the last season when I was approaching a rating score close to 3700 points (threshold for access to the Champion III league) I met many players with a rating score lower than mine and few players with a rating score higher than mine. A lost battle would cost me -30/-40 rating points less while a win would earn me +10 or +20 rating points. A defeat would cancel out the rating points gained from two to three victories. **Here's the bottleneck effect:** near the end of the Splinterlands season moving up from the Diamond I league to the Champion III league becomes a very difficult mission to complete because it creates a kind of cap or bottleneck that is difficult to overcome. My new end-of-season strategy For the above reasons I will change my strategy in this season finale: - I will no longer rent useful battle cards (especially legendary cards) on the last day of the season but already on the penultimate day of the season. - I will start battles as soon as the penultimate day of the season begins - I will raise the maximum budget for card rentals from $1.5 in the previous season to $2. Since I will keep the rented cards for one more day I will spend a maximum of $1 per day on card rental. Can I at least reach the Champion III league? My starting point is the Gold I league. At the time of writing this post, I have a rating score of 2665 points and a power score of 206280 points. Going from the Gold I league to the Champion III league in less than two days will not be an easy goal to achieve but I am very confident because having two days at my disposal will give me more calm and tranquility and as the famous saying goes: "calm is the virtue of the strong". :) Splinterlands is my favourite blockchain-based game and the strategy I will adopt in this season finale will be a further test in the search for my optimal end-of-season strategy. If you like, follow me to find out if my end-of-season strategy choice will have the desired effect or if it will turn out to be completely wrong! What is your strategy for the end of the season of Splinterlands? Tell me in a comment below this post and I will read your comment with great pleasure. I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? My Road to 30000 Hive Power: Hive Considerations + April Report ***Cover Image****: Background image is* *CC0 image* *- edit by @libertycrypto27 - Font used is Open Source* https://pixabay.com/it/photos/strada-panorama-orizzonte-dritto-3478977/ On March 5, 2019 I discovered the beautiful world of Hive and **became part of Hive**. I became part of Hive because on Hive unlike other centralised blogging platforms I am not just a user using a service but I am a piece, however small, of a **fully decentralised ecosystem**. **Decentralisation means first and foremost freedom!** Can a user of a centralised platform publish what he wants in complete freedom and without fear of being censored, blocked or banned? Of course not! On **Hive** I can publish my passions, thoughts and opinions in complete and absolute freedom and I am the only one responsible for what I write and publish. Is a user of a centralised platform the sole owner and user of his data and publications? Of course not! On a centralised platform such as Facebook, for example, a user's data is contractually usable by the owner of the centralised platform who can share, transfer and authorise publication on other channels. On **Hive** I am the only owner of my data because **Hive does not have an owner** but only a **large and strong community** and the power of each Hiver depends on the amount of Hive Power they have in their portfolio. Having more **Hive Power** is equivalent to having: - more voting power to reward favorite authors with Hive Power and HBDs - more voting power to choose Hive Witnesses - more voting power to decide which proposals should be funded and which not - a larger number of Resource Credits which equates to being able to perform many operations and transactions on the blockchain. Hive is my favourite blockchain project, it's the project I care most about and that's why I haven't done a Power Down since I joined Hive. My goal is to continuously increase my weight and voting power within the blockchain that I literally love. **Setting and planning goals is the first step to reach them** and for this reason I have set myself growth goals on Hive and I have also set a date by which I would like to reach my goals: **31 December 2021**. Every month I write a monthly report to analyse my activity on Hive and to monitor my progress towards the goals I have set for myself. I chose goals that are not easy to reach because easy goals are not real goals because they don't push you to work harder. My goals on Hive **Main Goal**: **30000 HP** **Secondary goals** - Reputation Goal: **76** - Goal Total Number of Posts: **1300** - Engagement Goal (total number of comments): **15000** - Onboarding Goal: at least **28 people**. - Followers Objective: **1000** Progress status Start from the main goal Main goal: **To be achieved by 31 December 2021** My main goal was not an easy one to achieve when I decided on it (November 2020), and it is even more difficult today. On November 1, 2020, **1 HIVE** had a value of **$0.11**. Today 7 May 2021 **1 HIVE** is worth **$0.5835**. Compared to November, the dollar reward of my posts has increased considerably but at the same time the reward in HIVE has decreased. The more HIVE gains value the more active users there are, an increase in active users produces an increase in the number of posts published daily, with an increase in published posts the HIVE reward pool is divided between more posts and consequently the HIVE reward produced by each post decreases. Obviously I prefer to see HIVE at $10 and not $0.10 even if this will cause me to miss my goal. In order to better track my progress towards my goal I have created a table in which I have divided my main goal into smaller intermediate goals (monthly goals). As you can see shown in the sixth column of the table (image below), in all 5 of the previous months I never reached the intermediate target. The goal for April was **1691.77 HIVE**. Let's see together if at least in April I managed to reach the intermediate goal. My Wallet On 1 April 2021 I had a total value of **14774.089 HIVE** (HIVE+HP+HBD) in my Wallet. On 1 May 2021 my Wallet counted: **15,327,518 HP**, **211,460 HIVE** and **0 HBD**. Adding up all the data, the total value of my portfolio was **15538,978 HIVE** (1 May 2021) The total **HIVE** (HP+HDB+HIVE) I earned in April is **764.89 HIVE**. This is lower than the previous month's result (**872.18 HIVE**). Consequently, the monthly percentage increase is also lower: **+5.18%**. I've updated the table with the April results and as you can see from the image below I'm just past the halfway mark on my journey to 30000 HP. For the sixth month in a row I have not reached my intermediate monthly goal and therefore the goal for May is increased to **1807.63 HIVE**. Based on the current value of HIVE, my account has an estimated value of **$9227**. If I divide this value by the total number of months since I signed up I get a monthly value of approximately **$350**. Secondary goals Although the following are secondary goals, they are also goals that are very important to me. Reputation Goal: 76 On Hive, each account is associated with a numerical value: the reputation. Reputation is one of the mechanisms that most differentiates Hive from other centralised and traditional platforms. In fact, in traditional blogging platforms, it is not important what kind of activity the user does or the quality of the content he or she publishes. The only really important aspect for Facebook & Co. is the data that outlines the user's preferences and tastes, data that can be resold and therefore monetised. On 1 April 2021 my reputation was **72.91**. On 1 May 2021 my reputation was **73.06**. In one month my reputation increased by **0.15** points with a monthly percentage increase of **+0.21%**. According to the site information: https://hivebuzz.me/ranking I am at position number **592** in the Hive user reputation ranking (last month I was at position number **614**). *Screenshot from the site:* *https://hivebuzz.me/ranking* Goal Total Number of Posts: 1300 Before joining Hive I didn't have my own blog and thanks to Hive I discovered the pleasure of writing and publishing content. I don't consider myself a blogger at all, but I simply like to write about my passions and the projects I like. Up to 1st May I have published 921 posts. In April I published **24 posts**, 10 posts less than in March. To reach my final goal I need to publish another **379 posts** in 8 months, so I need to publish at least 48 posts every month (precisely 47.37). Engagement goal (total number of comments): 15000 The **interaction** is very important because it is a moment of confrontation and growth. Interacting on Hive mainly means writing comments on other authors' posts and responding to the comments you receive. The first three pieces of advice I give to new members on Hive are the following: 1. Comment 2. Comment 3. Comment In 26 months I've seen many authors complain because their posts got little reward and almost always they were authors completely focused on themselves: - some commented little or never - others didn't respond to the comments they received on their posts Hive is not a traditional blogging platform but it is an ecosystem where interaction is very important. For example, if I comment 3 or 4 times on the posts of an author and I never receive a reply, I stop following that author because it's just a matter of time and that author will end up abandoning his adventure on Hive and will also speak badly of Hive, but the blame for his failure is ultimately his alone... Of course there are exceptions such as authors who write very high quality content and receive a high number of comments but these are very few cases. Returning to my goal regarding interaction, in November 2020 I also set a goal regarding the number of comments: 1500 comments (by the end of 2021). In 26 months I have written a total of **9641 comments** (average of about 12 comments per day). In April I had less time to devote to Hive and wrote fewer comments than in March: - March total comments: 365 - Total comments April: 284 In order to reach 15000 comments by 31 December 2021 I need to interact more and therefore I need to increase my average daily comment writing. Onboarding goal: at least 28 people This is a goal that I care a lot about and in fact my activity to promote Hive is continuous. I try to take every opportunity to promote Hive with family and friends and with anyone who shows interest in the principles of decentralisation. I use traditional social media like Twitter and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram to share the posts I make on Hive so that people who don't know about Hive can do so. In the coming days and as I did in April I will publish a post on Publish0x and Twitter where I will offer to the first 5 Twitter users and the first 5 Publish0x users who register on Hive: - 30 HP in delegation for one month - my support on Discord to take the first steps on Hive. Target Followers: 1000 At the beginning of April I had 616 followers, today I have **669** (+53 compared to the previous month's report). April: Considerations April has been a busy month and consequently I have had less time to devote to Hive. Family and work commitments always take priority, and rightly so. The reduced time available has resulted in fewer posts being published and fewer comments being written. The total rewards from publishing posts has decreased while the total rewards from my curation activity has increased. - Total Author Rewards (HP): **545.69 HIVE** (last month: **634.38 HIVE**) - Total Curation Rewards (HP): **160 HIVE** (last month: **153 HIVE**) A pleasant surprise In the month of April I wrote only 24 posts but I also got a **pleasant surprise** and a nice personal satisfaction. For the second time since I've been on Hive, one of my posts made it onto the Hive **Trending Page**. I like to write tutorials and guides because I like to help people and I'm happy that my step-by-step guide on the Farm DEC-BUSD LP of https://cubdefi.com/ has been appreciated by many Hive users and many users of the LeoFinance community. Conclusion This month I should have more free time and I will try to post more and especially try to interact more with other Hive users. As I do every month and at the end of my monthly Hive report I want to thank all the people who follow me, who read and comment on my posts and all the people who support me and have contributed to the growth of my account. A special thanks goes to @fedesox, the creator of the [Olio di Balena](https://peakd.com/c/hive-146620/created) community, who has supported me constantly since the beginning of my adventure on Hive and who supports and encourages the publishing activity of many other Hive users. I would also like to thank @phage93 and the @discovery-it community for their support on some of my posts. Thank you all If you haven't set yourself any goals, I suggest you do so because setting goals is the first step towards achieving them. If you are not a Hive user you are missing a great opportunity to be part of an important project and not just a simple user like on Facebook & Co. If you don't have a Hive account you can easily create one in a few steps.

Is Splinterlands a Good Investment? 18 Months Later ... ROI and considerations ***Cover Image****: Logo image owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* I became a happy Splinterlands player on October 19, 2019 when I decided to pay the $10 entry fee that many months ago was called Starter Set while now it is called Spell Book. Since October 19, 2019 more than 18 months have passed (exactly 18 months and 14 days) and after all these months Splinterlands is still my favourite blockchain based game. Almost always, games based on blockchains are never just games but can also be considered real investments. This dual game/investment aspect is especially applicable to Splinterlands. Splinterlands in fact offers: - the possibility to receive cards completely free of charge from the completion of daily quests and from the completion of fortnightly quests (the Splinterland seasons) - the possibility to buy and sell NFTs (game cards) - the ability to buy and sell the game's native tokens (Dark Energy Crystal) - the possibility to generate passive income by using DEC tokens in the farms of some DeFi projects like: CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/) or Uniswap. So far Splinterlands has proven to be for me not only a fun game but above all a good investment. For this reason I write a report every month in which I completely leave out the strategic and playful aspect of Splinterlands and exclusively consider the financial aspect of Hive's most famous card game. **Note**: In the numbers in this report the comma "**,**" and the dot "**.**" are both decimal separators. Here are the topics I will cover in this monthly report: Report topics - **Final Result Previous Report** - **Valuation of Splinterlands as an Investment (after 18 months)** - Total Investment Cost - Total Revenues - Value of my card collection - Value of accumulated DEC tokens - Revenue from selling DEC tokens - Value of Plots - Revenue from Farms DEC - BUSD LP (CubFinance) - **Profit/Loss calculation** - **ROI Calculation** - **Final Considerations** - **Month by month history of my investment in Splinterlands**. - **Does anyone who signs up today still have a chance to make a good profit?** - Considerations Final Result Previous Report As with all my previous reports, the starting point for this latest Splinterlands monthly report of mine is the result I recorded in my previous monthly report https://read.cash/@libertycrypto27/is-splinterlands-a-good-investment-17-months-later-b95bfc24 In the following two graphs you can see the **Profit** and **ROI** that I recorded last month in my previous report. After a little more than **17 months** I had a total **profit** of **687.68 $** and a **ROI** of **246.69 %**. Now it's time to check whether after a further month my profit has increased in value or decreased in value. Valuation of Splinterlands as an Investment (after 18 months) To evaluate any investment it is always necessary to compare costs and revenues. Below I will calculate the total costs I have incurred to date and the total revenue I have earned to date. Total investment cost The total cost of my investment on Splinterlands is given by the following sum: **Subscription cost (Starter Set: 10$) + Total cost of Cards purchased + Total cost of DECs purchased + Total cost of Plots purchased** From the date of my last report (March 26, 2021) and until today May 3, 2021 I have purchased **24 packs of Untamed cards** from the https://hive-engine.com/ marketplace because I found really good prices. I spent a total of **45.28 HIVE** which at the time of my purchase had a value of **34.27 $**. For this reason, the total cost of my investment has increased and is now the sum: total investment cost previous report + cost of buying 24 packs of Untamed cards **278,76 $ + 34.27 $ = 313.03 $**. **Note:** In the calculation of revenues these two values are estimated values because they both consider the case in which all cards are sold at the indicated prices. In reality, there are cards that are easier to sell and others that are less easy to sell, even though up to now I have always managed to sell all the cards I put on the market at the lowest market price. If I wanted to calculate the precise value of my card collection I would have to consider only the BID Price (the immediately monetizable value) for each card in my collection and the calculation would become very time consuming because I have 1447 cards in my collection (4163 BCX) and for this reason I am content with an approximation. On 26 March 2021 my card collection had a value of **$819.63** (using Market prices) Today 3 May 2021 my card collection has a value of **1164,44 $** (using Market prices) The value of my card collection has also increased this month: **+ $344.81** compared to the value I recorded in the previous month. A higher increase compared to the previous month, but in small part due to the value of the cards I found inside the 24 packs of Untamed cards. How much are the DEC tokens I have in my wallet worth? The **DEC** (Dark Energy Crystal) are the **Tokens** native to the game of Splinterlands that can be used to buy various elements of the game (cards, potions, card packs, plots...) or can be sold and bought on HiveEngine/LeoDex or can be used on certain farms (DeFi). For each battle won, every Splinterlands player receives a certain amount of DEC tokens as a reward, which depends on several factors: - the rating - the level of the guild they belong to (Guild Bonus) - the use of specific cards in battle (Gold, Promo, Alpha) - the consecutive number of battle victories (Streak Bonus) Thanks to my gaming activity, the cards I sold this month, the completion of daily quests and the Splinterlands end-of-season rewards, I have a total of **84054** **DEC** tokens in my Splinterlands internal wallet (previous month: 68367 DEC tokens). Today May 3, 2021, the dollar value of **84054** **DEC** is **84.11 $** (Highest Bid on LeoDex/HiveEngine) **Returns from the sale of DEC tokens on Hive Engine** I have almost always used DEC tokens to buy cards to add to my collection, and on one occasion I sold DEC tokens in exchange for HIVE tokens. On October 5, 2020, I sold 81000 DEC tokens on the Hive Engine marketplace and received **400.14 HIVE** in exchange for a value at the time of sale of **64.8 $**. How much are my Plots worth? On November 21, 2020 I purchased 3 Plots at a price of **7500 DEC** each for a total cost of **22500 DEC** whose $ value at the time of purchase was **19.66 $**. The **plots** can be purchased directly from the Splinterlands website at the price of **$20** but they can also be purchased on LeoDex/HiveEngine (34 HIVE) but at the time of writing this post it is more convenient to buy them from the Splinterlands website where there is also a 20% discount for those who buy the plots using BAT tokens as payment method (last month the best price was on HiveEngine/LeoDex) In my report I consider the value of the Highest BID on https://leodex.io/market/PLOT to be **22.20 HIVE** per plot. So the total value of the three plots in my possession is 22.20 HIVE * 3 plots = **66.6 HIVE** = **43.55$** (value 26 March 2021: 23.90$) Farm DEC-USBD LP For the first time in my report I am including the revenue I got from Farm DEC-USBD LP at https://cubdefi.com/ In April I started using the Farm DEC-USBD on CubFinance in which I have put 23104 DEC tokens to work and so far I have earned 1,052 CUB tokens whose current value is $2,694 Profit and ROI Now I have all the data I need (Total Costs and Total Revenues) to calculate any profit or loss I have made so far in 18 months and 14 days on Splinterlands. Profit ( Revenues - Costs ) Despite increasing the cost of my investment in Splinterlands the profit has increased and is my best result to date. In fact in the previous monthly report the profit grew by **$295.08** and after just over a month the profit has grown by **$358.88**. As you can see from the calculations in the image below my **profit** after 18 months and 14 days since my registration on Splinterlands is now **$1046.56** (previous report $687.68) ROI ( Return On Investment ) The profit of $1046.56 corresponds to a **ROI** of 334.33% (previous monthly report ROI 246.69%). Final Considerations For the second month in a row Splinterlands continues to amaze me. I thought the result of the previous report was exceptional but instead the profit increased again and surpassed the previous month's result. In almost 18 and a half months I made a profit of **$1046.56** and achieved a **ROI** of **334.33%**. But the best aspect to consider is that I achieved this profit and ROI in the nicest way possible: **by playing and having fun!** Splinterlands proves to be a great game but also a great investment! Month by month history of my investment in Splinterlands Below you can see the history of my personal investment on Splinterlands regarding the ROI and Profit I have obtained month by month and from the sixth month onwards. The trend of **ROI** from the sixth month onwards is as follows: - **ROI** after 6 months: **34.73 %** - **ROI** after 7 months: **77.02 %** - **ROI** after 8 months: **10.93 %** - **ROI** after 9 months: **34.33 %** - **ROI** after 10 months: **16.99 %** - **ROI** after 11 months: **57.68 %** - **ROI** after 12 months: **118.59 %** - **ROI** after 13 months: **113.41 %** - **ROI** after 14 months: **111.62 %** - **ROI** after 15 months: **121.26 %** - **ROI** after 16 months: **140.84 %** - **ROI** after 17 months: **246.69 %** - **ROI** after 18 months: **334.33 %** The trend of the **PROFIT** from the sixth month onwards is as follows: - **PROFIT** after 6 months: **27.99 $** - **PROFIT** after 7 months: **82.346 $** - **PROFIT** after 8 months: **24.214 $** - **PROFIT** after 9 months: **78.902 $** - **PROFIT** after 10 months: **44.014 $** - **PROFIT** after 11 months: **149.437 $** - **PROFIT** after 12 months: **307.279 $** - **PROFIT** after 13 months: **316.13 $** - **PROFIT** after 14 months: **311.16 $** - **PROFIT** after 15 months: **338.02 $** - **PROFIT** after 16 months: **392.60 $** - **PROFIT** after 17 months: **687.68 $** - **PROFIT** after 18 months: **1046.56 $** But whoever signs up today still has a chance to make a good profit? As is almost always the case with all successful games, those who have signed up for Splinterlands from the start have made a great investment and made a great profit. The logical question a new player might ask themselves is this: If I sign up today will I have the same chance of making a great profit? I can't answer this question because I don't have the ability to predict the future (unfortunately :) but I still see a lot of potential in the game of Splinterlands. Those who sign up now will receive fewer rewards than those who signed up a long time ago because in the past the rewards were much higher. I continue to promote and recommend Splinterlands for the following reasons: - it is a fun game - It offers several earning possibilities (daily and fortnightly rewards, DEC sales, cards sales, DECs that can be used in some Farms). - 2 upvotes per week from the @steemmonsters account on posts that participate in weekly contests - the registration fee of 10$ is recovered entirely with the upvotes received for participating in 2-4 weekly contests (the weight of the vote depends on the quality of the post but I have never seen a post that participated in a contest without a vote from Splinterlands) - there are lots of giveaways, there is a weekly trivia challenge and contests and giveaways on Twitter that offer the chance to get cards for free. Will ROI and Profit grow in the next month or will they decline? Follow me to find out ;) I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? RECORD STAKING: an interesting new use case for STARBITS tokens (ENG/ITA) Logo Rising Star owned by Rising Star - Font used is Open Source - Edit by @libertycrypto27 https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=libertycrypto27 Rising Star is one of my favourite blockchain-based games. Those of you who read my posts on Rising Star know that my main goal in the game is to become a millionaire (1 million STARBITS tokens). Four days ago I had more than **508000 STARBITS** in my in-game wallet. Today, I only have **505 STARBITS** in my wallet! What happened? Did I stop my race to the million STARBITS goal? Did I decide to sell all my STARBITS tokens? **Absolutely NOT!** I just moved all my STARBITS tokens from the in-game Wallet to the new Rising Star section called **Record Staking**. I simply staked all of my STARBITS tokens to earn more STARBITS tokens. Record Staking is therefore a new use case for STARBITS tokens that allows for passive income and gives players an incentive not to sell their tokens. In order to use the Record Staking section of Rising Star, you must have more than 1000 STARBITS tokens. In fact, it is possible to stack blocks of **1000 STARBITS** (1000 - 2000 - ... - 10000 - ...). I really like this **new use case** for STARBITS tokens, and now I'll show you how easy it is to stack STARBITS tokens and use the Record Staking section of Rising Star. A new option has been added to the Cards menu: Record Staking. To access the screen that will allow you to stack your STARBITS tokens, simply make two clicks as indicated by the arrows in the next image. After you click on Record Staking, the page will open: **Rising Star Angels Dashboard** In the **Record** column there is a list of NFTs of music tracks with the name of the musician and the song title. For example, in the first column of the first row is the NFT of the Billy Korg song whose title is Kali In the second column you can see the amount of STARBITS staked. For example, I have staked 75000 STARBITS on this song. The **Unstake** button is used to take the STARBITS tokens and transfer them back to the in-game wallet. The **Unstake** operation takes **72 hours** to complete, and STARBITS tokens in the Unstaking state do not generate passive income during this time. The **Stake 1000** button is used to increase the amount of STARBITS tokens staked in blocks of 1000 STARBITS. The following columns show: - **Share Of Pool**: The percentage of profit on the STARBITS pool. - **STARBITS Earned**: The amount of STARBITS already earned and received on the in-game wallet. - **STARBITS Pool**: The total amount of STARBITS to be shared among the Stakers. - **NFTs Remaining**: The number of NFTs not yet sold. In the last column is the **View Sales** button. By clicking on the View Sales button you can view all the information about the NFTs sold. In the upper right corner is the **My Earnings** button, which takes you to a page containing a list of individual payments received and the total STARBITS tokens earned. My experience with record staking I started my record staking activity four days ago and have staked a total of **558000** **STARBITS** tokens. As you can see from the next image, in **4 days of staking I earned 16832 STARBITS**. Conclusion When a use case is added to a token, the token becomes more useful and has more potential to increase its value. I really like the staking of STARBITS tokens and I will continue staking my STARBITS tokens because this action will allow me to accelerate the achievement of my main goal: one million STARBITS. I have earned 16832 STARBITS in four days, which is a very good result. Basically, I have earned **3.01%** on the amount of tokens I have staked. **Note:** the gain will not be constant and can be more or less in the future because it will depend on the number of NFTs created and sold by musicians on Rising Star. In fact every time an NFT is sold **20000 STARBITS** are divided among the stakers in proportion to the amount of STARBITS tokens that each staker has staked. **Rising Star** is a beautiful, fun and ever-evolving game and I am definitely a happy Rising Star player :) Rock ON Thank you for reading and if you like, follow me to read my future posts on Rising Star ;) You are not a Rising Star player? If this is the first time you've heard of **Rising Star** I'll tell you in brief what it is. **Rising Star** is a fun and easy to play game. FIRE SPITTER: Market, Battle Strategy and Considerations ***Cover Image****: Logo and Card images owned by Splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source* The protagonist of this post is the Fire Spitter card, which is also the protagonist of this week's Splinterlands "**Share Your Battle**" contest. <center>The topics I'll be covering in this post are as follows:</center> # <center>Topics</center> *** - **Card: Fire Spitter** - Description, Stats and Abilities. - **Market Prices, Levels**. - Level Considerations - **My battle with Fire Spitter** - My battle formation. - Battle Considerations - **Final Considerations about the Fire Spitter card** Card: Fire Spitter Description, Stats and Abilities **Fire Spitter** is a card from the **Reward** collection and is available in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. It is an **Epic** card and is a card of the element **Dragon**. The **Fire Spitter - Regular Version** of **level 1** has the following stats: - It has a **mana cost of 4 points**. - It has **2 ranged attack points** - Has **4 life points** and has no armor points. - Has a **slightly above average speed** (**4**). - Has an ability: **Flying**. Thanks to the **Flying** ability, the Fire Spitter card has a higher chance of avoiding a melee or ranged attack when that attack comes from cards that don't have the same ability. **Fire Spitter - Gold Version** starts at level 3 and has the following stats: - It has a **mana cost of 4 points**. - Has a **3 point ranged attack** - Has **5 life points** and has no armor points. - Has a **slightly above average** speed **(**4**) - Has an ability: **Flying**. When Fire Spitter reaches level 6 (maximum level) it gains its second and final ability: **Dodge**. The **Dodge** ability allows Fire Spitter to further increase the chance of avoiding melee attacks and ranged attacks. Market Prices, Levels and Valuations Each card in the Splinterland game is present in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. Some cards also belong to two different collections: **Alpha** and **Beta**. Fire Spitter is present in only one collection (Reward), so there are a total of 2 Fire Spitter cards that differ in: - cost (the Gold version costs much more than the regular version) - starting level (the gold version starts at level 3) - number of cards needed to increase the level - number of cards in circulation. The lowest cost of **Fire Spitter (Level 1) - Regular version** on the market is **$0.57** (April 28, 2021) In the following picture you can see the complete statistics The cost of **Fire Spitter - Gold version (starting level is level 3)** lowest on the market is **16.50 $** (28 April 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics Considerations on levels **Level 3 (Regular Version)** Level 3 is the level that, in my opinion, has the best **benefit/price ratio**! When Fire Spitter reaches level 3 - Increases life points by one unit (4->5) compared to level 1 - Increases its ranged attack by one point (2->3). To reach level 3 you need: - **6 cards** to combine for the **Regular** version and the best price on the market is **2.99 $** (0.50$ per card). The gold version already starts at level 3 but the price is much higher than the regular version and I don't recommend it to new players who have few cards in their collection because especially at the beginning it is important to have as many useful battle cards in your collection as possible in order to grow faster. It's better to buy 5 useful cards for 3$ instead of one golden one which costs 16$. **Now let's see how Fire Spitter behaves on the battlefield.** A battle of mine with Fire Spitterr If you want to see the battle, you can do so from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=c1ad6d4c345a51778333afe4515cea20957768dd&ref=libertycrypto27 In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to respect: - **Close Range**: All cards with a range attack can also attack from the first position. - **Equalizer**: Cards in battle gain the life points of the card (friend or foe) with the most life points. - **Mana Cap**: 20. - **Useable Summoners**: Only Death Element Summoners and Dragon Element Summoners can be used. My Battle Formation The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is **7 (1 summoner + 6 monsters)** I chose to deploy 5 monster cards (in order of position): **Haunted Spirit - Furious Chicken - Fiendish Harpy - Tortisian Chief - Fire Spitter** **Daria Dragonscale (Summoner)** **First position**: For the first position I chose to deploy **Haunted Spirit (level 5)**. Haunted Spirit (level 5) is one of the death element cards I use the most when mana is low like in the battle of this post because it has great combat stats and only costs 5 mana points. It plays well in first position because it has a good number of life points (9 life points) and has the Heal ability that allows it to restore two life points each round of the battle. My Haunted Spirit also has a second ability: Magic Reflect which is very useful when your opponent fields cards with magic attacks. In the battle of this post, the latter ability isn't useful because my opponent doesn't have magic cards. Combined with the Daria Dragonscale Summoner, Hauted Spirit's attack is increased by one. **Second position**: In second position I have **Furious Chicken (Gold - level 3)**. Furious Chicken is always a useful card to deploy as protection for important cards and in fact its function is to protect Fiendish Harpy (level 4) from enemy card attacks and deploying Furious Chicken in second position is particularly useful when your opponent is deploying cards with Blast ability but this is not the case in this battle. **Third position**: In third position I put the card **Fiendish Harpy (level 4)**. Very useful card that I often use when I'm low on mana. Its usefulness increases when the battle rule is Equalizer because it loses one of its weak points: 3 life points. In fact, in battle it gains 8 life points and becomes a harder card to eliminate. It has two very good abilities: Flying and Opportunity. **Fourth position**: In fourth position I deployed **Tortisian Chief (level 4)**. Tortisian Chief (level 4) is a very useful card especially when the battle requires using summoners of the element of death because there is only one card of the element of death that has the Tank Heal ability (Corrupted Pegasus - level 3). Thanks to Tortisian Chief's Tank Heal ability, the Haunted Spirit card has a much better chance of not being eliminated because it will have a total of 4 points restored each round. It also has a very good magic attack: 2 points of attack. **Fifth position**: In fifth position I chose to field **Fire Spitter (level 3)**. It's a good card to play in the last position because it has a good speed (4 points) which in combination with the Flying ability guarantees good chances to avoid one or more attacks. It has a good ranged attack (3 points), a good number of life points (5 points) and has a very low mana cost considering its battle stats: it costs only 4 mana points. *** As **Summoner** I chose **Daria Dragonscale (level 4)**. Thanks to Daria Dragonscale's ability, my melee attack cards increase attack points by one unit. Battle Considerations in this battle I start with a relative advantage in total attack points while my opponent starts the battle with a relative advantage in total life points + armour points: - my opponent has a lower total attack points than me (**11 vs 7**). - I have a total of life + armour points equal to 40 points while my opponent has a total of life + armour points of 45 points. During **Round 1** my opponent loses the card in first position: Haunted Spirit. I, on the other hand, am left with all my starting cards still in play. At the start of Round 2, I have increased my attack point advantage and my opponent has only one point more life total. During **Round 2** my opponent loses his second card and at the start of **Round 3** he is left with only three cards and only three total attack points. By now my lead is big and the battle ends on the sixth turn of **Round 4**. This battle shows: - the **importance of upgrading your cards**: my opponent has all level 1 cards while the lowest level of my cards is level 3. - the **importance of starting with a higher total of attack points than your opponent** - the **usefulness of having at least one card with the Tank Heal ability** that allows the card in first position to become more difficult to eliminate. Final Considerations on Fire Spitter **Fire Spitter** is a very useful card because it costs very little in terms of money and mana. Even starting at level 1, Fire Spitter has good combat stats: 2 ranged attack points and 4 speed points. Very useful especially when the battle rule is Little League: only cards that have a mana cost of 4 points or less can be deployed in battle. **Is Fire Spitter a good buy?** For the above reasons and given the current price on the market I recommend Fire Spitter especially to new players who have few cards in their card collection because Fire Spitter is a card that can be used very often and plays well in last position. In my opinion, the **combat rules** favorable to using the Fire Spitter card in battle are mainly: - **Eartquake**: Fire Spitter has the Flying ability that makes it immune to the negative effects of the earthquake. - **Close Range**: Fire Spitter can also attack from the first position. - **Lost Legendaries**: Without the ability to field legendary cards, epic cards gain value and become a more viable choice. - **Aim true**: Fire Spitter's attack cannot be avoided. - **Little League**: Without the ability to play cards that cost more than 4 mana, Fire Spitter becomes a very good choice. NAGA WARRIOR: Market, Battle Strategy and Considerations ***Cover Image****: logo and Card images owned by* *Splinterlands* *- Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source</sub></center>* https://splinterlands.com?ref=libertycrypto27 NAGA WARRIOR: Market, Battle Strategy and Considerations Hi Hivers and Splinterlands players, Every week Splinterlands organizes contests to reward their players. One of the weekly contests is the "Share Your Battle" contest, which requires you to share a battle with a particular card, and this week's contest features the Naga Warrior card. Since I became a Splinterlands player I have almost always participated in the Share Your Battle contest: in 18 months I will have missed a maximum of 5 participations. I should have skipped this one as well because I don't have a Naga Warrior card in my card collection but not having a card is no problem at all because there is the very useful website https://peakmonsters.com/ that allows you to rent Splinterlands cards. So I rented a level 1 Naga Warrior for $0.001. I chose a rental contract without penalty in case of early termination of the contract (Termination Escrow = 0) and after using the card I terminated the rental contract. The topics that I will cover in this post are as follows: Topics - **Card: Naga Warrior** - Description, Stats and Abilities. - **Market, Levels and Ratings** - Level Considerations - **My battle with Naga Warrior**. - My battle formation - Battle Considerations - **Final Considerations on Naga Warrior** Card: Naga Warrior Description, Stats and Abilities **Naga Warrior** is a card that is part of two collections: **Alpha** and **Beta** and is available in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. It is an **Epic** card and a card of the element **Water**. **Naga Warrior (regular version)** of **level 1** has the following stats: - It has a **mana cost of 5 points**. - Has a **melee attack point of 2**. - Has **6 life points** and has no armor points. - Has a **mid-level speed** (**3**). - Has an ability: **Retaliate**. Thanks to the **Retaliate** ability, the Naga Warrior card has a chance to counterattack the enemy card with a melee attack from which it was attacked. When Naga Warrior reaches **level 4**, it gains its second and final ability: **Enrage**. The **Enrage** ability activates when Naga Warrior takes damage in battle and produces an increase in melee attack points and an increase in speed points. Market, Levels and Valuation Each card in the Splinterland game is present in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. Some cards like Naga Warrior also exist in two different collections: **Alpha** and **Beta** and so there are a total of 4 Naga Warrior cards that differ in: - cost - starting level (the gold version starts at level 2) - number of cards needed to increase the level - number of cards in circulation. The lowest cost of **Naga Warrior (Level 1) - Regular version Beta Collection** on the market is **4.00 $** (April 12, 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics The cost of **Naga Warrior - Gold version Beta Collection (starting level is level 3)** lowest on the market is **19.00 $** (12 April 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics The lowest cost of **Naga Warrior (Level 1) - Regular version Alpha Collection** on the market is **4.25 $** (12 April 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics The cost of **Naga Warrior - Gold version Alpha Collection (starting level is level 3)** lowest on the market is **220.00 $** (12 April 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics Is Naga Warrior a good buy? Considering the current price on the market, Naga Warrior is a card that costs too much in relation to its battle statistics, which is why I don't recommend buying it. The high cost is the main reason why I have never considered it as a possible purchase to add to my collection. There are cards that I think are more usable in battles and cost much less. In the image below you can see some water element cards that cost less than Naga Warrior and have similar battle stats and more useful abilities. For example **Electric Eels** has two life points and one attack point less than Naga Warrior but: - can also attack from the second position - can attack from two to three cards at the same time thanks to the Blast ability. - costs almost **$7** less. **Now let's see how Naga Warrior behaves on the Battlefield!** A battle of mine with Naga Warrior If you want to see the battle, you can do so from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=83d568ece7af364bc2a6075841bd627c6a165c6f&ref=libertycrypto27 In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to meet: - **Healed Out**: All cards with Heal or Tank Heal abilities lose their valuable healing ability. - **Mana Cap**: 18. - **Useable Summoners**: Only summoners of the following elements can be used: Life, Death, and Earth and Water. My Battle Formation The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is **7 (1 summoner + 6 monsters)** I chose to deploy 5 monster cards (in order of position): **Naga Warrior - Furious Chicken - Creeping Ooze - Ruler of the Seas - Crustacean King** **Alric Stormbringher (Summoner)** **First Position**: For the first position I chose to deploy **Naga Warrior (level 1)**, the protagonist of this post, because it is the only position that allows Naga Warrior to attack. Naga Warrior level 1 is not the ideal card to use in the first position because it only has 6 life points and only 2 melee attack points. In order to protect Naga Warrior, I have chosen to use Crustaceand King, whose protect ability gives Naga Warrior a bonus of 2 armour points. **Second position**: In second position I have deployed **Furious Chicken (Gold - level 3)**. Furious Chicken is always a useful card to deploy as protection for important cards and in fact its function is to protect Ruler of the Seas (level 3) which is the strongest card in my battle formation. **Third position**: In third position I have deployed the card **Creeping Ooze (level 4)** which has the same main function as Furious Chicken: to protect Ruler of the Seas from the attacks of the opponent's cards. Creeping Ooze also has a second use because it can decrease the speed of the opponent's cards by one unit (Slow ability). **Fourth position**: In fourth position I put **Ruler of the Seas (level 3)**. Ruler of the Seas is one of my favorite water element cards. It has three great abilities: **Blast, Swiftness**, and **Silence**. It's the card I always try to protect because it has a three point magic attack (which becomes four when combined with Alric Stormbringher and thanks to its **Blast** ability it can attack and subtract two points from the card adjacent to the directly attacked card. **Fifth position**: In fifth position I chose to deploy **Crustacean King (level 6)** that even if in the battle of this post loses the Tank Heal ability has another useful ability (**Protect**) that allows to add two armour points to itself and to all the friendly cards. As **Summoner** I chose **Alric Stormbringher (level 5)** because among my water element summoners it' s the one that allows me to use the highest level cards and above all it allows me to increase the magic attack of the cards deployed in battle. Battle Considerations The battle starts with a substantial initial balance. In fact, in this battle, I start with a slight advantage in life + armour points while my opponent starts the battle with an advantage in total attack points: - my opponent has a higher total attack points than me (**12 vs 9**). - I have a total of life + armour points equal to 27 points while my opponent has a total of life + armour points of 24 points. From a strategic point of view my opponent decides to bet more on cards with melee attack (4 cards out of 5). I instead decide to bet on the strength of Ruler of the Seas which is the card that I hope will win the battle. During **Round 1** my opponent loses Furious Chicken while I lose Crustacean King and with its elimination I also lose 6 armour points. During **Round 2** my opponent loses his second card and at the start of **Round 3** he is left with only two cards. The battle ends on the seventh turn of **Round 4** when both my opponent and I are left with one card each and Ruler of the Seas strikes the final blow. Final Considerations on Naga Warrior **Naga Warrior** is a useful card only when the battle rules allow it to be deployed in a position other than the first. For example, when the battle rule is **Super Sneak** or **Melee Mayhem**, Naga Warrior is a good choice because it only costs 5 mana points and can attack from any position. In all other circumstances it's not a very useful card and there are many other alternatives that are more useful in battle and, more importantly, cost much less. I prefer abilities like Stun and Heal for a card to be deployed in first position over the Retaliate ability. In fact, in the battle of this post Naga Warrior can't even use its ability once even though it attacks 3 times. In my opinion, the combat rules that favour the use of the Sporcerer card in battle are mainly: - **Melee Mayhem** and **Super Sneak**: Naga Warrior can attack from any position. - **Armored Up**: Two more armor points make up for the low life points - **Lost Legendaries**: without the ability to field legendary cards, epic cards gain value and become a viable choice. - **Equalizer**: Naga Warrior level 1 will most likely gain more life points. In conclusion Naga Warrior is a good card to have in your card collection but **not at the current market prices**. With this post I am participating in the weekly Splinterlands contest entitled "**Share Your Battle**". If you're a Splinterlands player, I highly recommend that you participate as well. I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Not a Splinterlands player? Tutorial: How to convert Ecency points into upvotes! **Cover Image**: Font used is Open Source - Edit by @libertycrypto27 **Ecency** is a great front-end for accessing the **Hive** blockchain and is also the front-end I use most to access Hive from my smartphone. Ecency is available in **four versions**: - a **web version** that you can access using your favorite browser at: https://ecency.com/ - a **version for Android operating systems** (Download on Google Play Store): https://android.ecency.com/ - a **version for iOS** (Download on Apple Store): https://ios.ecency.com/ - a **Desktop version** installable on **Windows, MAC and Unix-like** (Linux, Ubuntu...): https://desktop.ecency.com/ Yesterday my dear friend @blumela contacted me on Discord and asked me if I had written a guide on **how to convert Ecency points into upvotes**. Actually I already wrote a guide on this topic but I wrote it more than a year ago when Ecency had another name and Ecency points were called ESTM. Since then Ecency has really made great progress and has greatly expanded its functionality and especially its usability. In order to help in particular new users who don't know the functionality of Ecency to convert points into upvotes I decided to write a **short step by step guide**. How to convert Ecency points into upvote Step by step guide Ecency rewards its users with points: **Ecency Points**. Depending on the type of action you perform on Ecency, you receive a certain number of points. For example, you receive Ecency points when you: - **write a post and publish it directly from Ecency** (15 points) - **write a comment** (up to 5 points), - **vote a post** - ... You can view your Ecency points from the **Wallet/Points** section of Ecency by typing the following address into the address bar of your browser: https://ecency.com/@yourname/points replacing the **yourname** with **your Hive username**. Ecency offers its users a feature that allows them to convert Ecency points into upvotes. This feature is called **Boost**. I will show you how to perform the Boost operation from: - https://ecency.com/ - from the **Ecency** app for **Android** Boost from https://ecency.com/ **1.** After **login**, click on the **gift pack** image in the top right corner as indicated by the arrow in the next image. Alternatively you can enter the following address: https://ecency.com/@yourname/points (replace the **yourname** with your **Hive username**). **2.** in the next screen you have to follow the directions of the two arrows in the following image: - **2.1** you have to click on the **down arrow** symbol as indicated by arrow number 1. - **2.2** you have to click on the "**Boost**" as indicated by the arrow number 2. **3.** A window will open where you need to: - **3.1** enter your **Hive username** in the field preceded by "**Post**" (Arrow number 1). - **3.2** the autocomplete function will display the list of your posts from the most recent to the most dated and you just have to select the post on which you want to make the Boost. (generally it's the first in the list). **4.** Next you need to: - **4.1** choose the amount of points you want to convert to upvote as indicated by Arrow number 1 in the image below. You can convert a maximum of 500 points for a single post and the dollar value of the upvote you will receive on your post depends on the value of Hive. Today April 8, 2021 the dollar value of the vote corresponding to the use of **500 points**i is **$3.015** - **4.2** click on Next as indicated by arrow number 2 **5.** On the next screen you can choose one of the following three options: - enter your **Private Active Key** and click on "**Sign**". - Authorize the transaction via **Hivesigner**. - authorize the transaction via **Hive Keychain** (my preferred method) **6.** **Operation completed**. You will receive a confirmation message from Ecency and you just have to wait to receive the vote on the post of your choice. **Note**: the vote may arrive on your post even after a few hours because your post must be evaluated by the Ecency curators who have the task of verifying whether your post meets certain requirements. Boost from Ecency app for Android If you have installed the Android version of Ecency on your smartphone the Boost operation is even easier because it requires fewer steps. In the following image I've shown you all the steps to perform (Arrows 1-4): **1.** Once you have chosen the post on which you want to perform the operation of Boost you must click on the symbol of the three gray circles as indicated by arrow number 1 **2.** Then you have to click on **Boost** (arrow number 2) **3.** then you have to select the **quantity of points** that you want to convert using the two buttons **+** and **-**. **4.** Finally you have to click on **Next** as indicated by arrow number 4. Requirements for receiving upvote from Ecency **1.** You must use Ecency's **editor** to write and publish your post. **2.** Your post must meet Ecency's **quality criteria**. A post that required little effort is unlikely to receive an upvote. In this case the points will be returned to you and you can use them for another post. **3.** You must not have already received an upvote from Ecency on the post you selected. **4.** Your post must be **original** (copy-paste or plagiarism is not allowed). I hope you liked this guide and I thank you for taking the time to read it :) Unless otherwise indicated, the images in this post are screenshots taken from the sites: https://ecency.com/ The font I used in my images and in the images I edited is Open Source **Follow me also on:** **NoiseCash**: **https://noise.cash/u/libertycrypto27** **Hive**: **https://peakd.com/@libertycrypto27/posts** **Leofinance:** **https://leofinance.io/@libertycrypto27** **Twitter**: **https://twitter.com/libertycrypto27** **Publish0x**: **https://www.publish0x.com/libertycrypto27?a=MYervALeOB** **(Ref.)** **Blurt**: **https://blurtter.com/@libertycrypto27**

SPORCERER: Market, Battle Strategy and Considerations ***Cover Image:*** Logo and Card images owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27- Font used is Open Source For the "Social Media Challenge" contest organized by Splinterlands this week, I chose to analyze an epic card from the Earth element: the **Sporcerer** card. The topics I'll be covering in this post are as follows: Topics - **Card: Sporcerer**. - Description, Stats and Abilities. - **Market, Levels and Economic Valuations** - Level Considerations - **My battle with Sporcerer** - My battle formation. - Battle Considerations - **Final Considerations on Sporcerer** Card: Sporcerer Description, Stats, and Abilities **Sporcerer** is a card that is part of the **Untamed** collection. It is an **Epic** card and is a card of the **Earth** element. **Sporcerer** of **level 1** has the following battle statistics: - It has a **mana cost of 6 points**. - It has 2 magic attack points - Has **5 life points** and has no armor points. - It has a **very low speed** (**1**). - Has an ability: **Rust**. Thanks to the **Rust** ability, the Sporcerer card is able to reduce both the life points of the opposing card (with its magic attack) and its armor points (thanks to the Rust ability) with a single attack. This ability is practically useless if none of the cards in the battlefield have armor points. When Sporcerer reaches **level 4**, it acquires a second ability: **Silence**. The **Silence** ability reduces the magic attack of all opposing cards. When Sporcerer reaches **level 6** (maximum level) acquires a third and final ability: **Affliction**. When level 6 Sporcerer attacks an opponent's card, it has a chance to make the attacked card unhealable and thus nullify the healing abilities of the opponent's cards. This ability is practically useless if none of the cards in the battlefield have armor points. Market, Levels, and Ratings Each card in the Splinterland game is printed in two versions: **Regular** and **Gold**. The two versions of the Sporcerer card differ in: - cost - starting level (the gold version starts at level 2) - number of cards needed to increase the level - number of cards in circulation. The lowest cost of **Sporcerer (Level 1) - Regular version** on the market is **$0.041** (April 07, 2021) In the following image you can see the complete statistics The lowest cost of **Sporcerer (Level 2) - Gold Version** on the market is **30.00 $** (April 07, 2021) In the following screenshot you can see complete statistics Considerations about levels Level 5 (Regular Version) Level 5 is the level that, in my opinion, has the best **benefit/price** ratio! When Sporcerer reaches level 5: - acquires the **Silence** ability - increases his speed by 1 point (1->2) compared to level 1 - increases his health points by 1 (5->6) compared to level 1 - Increases his magic attack by 1 point (2->3) compared to level 1 To reach level 5 you need: - **32 cards** to combine for the **Regular** version and the best price on the market is **13.12 $**. Gold or Regular? For some cards the cost difference between the Gold and Regular versions is not very high. In the case of the Sporcer card, however, the price difference is very marked. In circulation there are only 233 Sporcerer cards in Gold version and there is only one card for sale on the market. A Gold card allows you to receive an additional 10% DEC bonus when it is used in battle and the battle ends with a victory. In the case of Sporcerer Gold the price is really high compared to the regular version and I don't recommend buying it because there are much more useful cards in battle to buy at that price. **Now let's see how Sporcerer performs on the Battlefield.** A battle of mine with Sporcerer If you want to watch the battle you can do so from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=cb140fb8e5dab003eb15d2cb39c3da653ad9e610&ref=libertycrypto27 In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to respect: - **Spreading Fury**: All cards deployed in battle gain the Enrage ability that increases melee attack points and card speed when taking damage. - **Stampede**: Cards that have the Trumple ability can use this ability multiple times in a single round of play. - **Mana Cap**: 32. - **Useable Summoners**: Only summoners of the elements can be used: Life, Death, and Earth. My Battle Formation The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is **7 ( 1 summoner + 6 monsters)** I chose to deploy 6 monster cards (in order of position): **Flesh Golem - Grampy Dwarf - Sporcerer - Wood Nymph - Tortisian Chief - Javelin Thrower** **Xander Foxwood (Summoner)** **First Position**: I chose **Flesh Golem (level 4)** because it's a great card to deploy in first position. Flesh Golem (level 4) has a good melee attack (3 points), has a good number of life points (9), and has a very good Heal ability that is particularly useful for a card in first position. Moreover, the Spreading Fury combat rule allows Flesh Golem to increase its stats (attack points and speed) every time it takes damage from an enemy card. Thanks to the two abilities of its friend card Wood Nymph (Strenghten and Tank Heal) and the Tank Heal ability of its other friend card Tortisian Chief, it can recover a total of 6 life points instead of two each round of play and can start the battle with 10 life points instead of nine. **Second Position**: In second position I deployed **Grampy Dwarf (level 5)**. Grampy Dwarf (level 5) is a very useful card because it only costs 4 points of Mana and can attack from the second position. It's a card I use often especially in battles that have little mana available. **Third position**: In third position I have deployed the card **Sporcerer (level 1)**. It is the star card of this week's Splinterlands contest. It's a good card because it has 2 magic attack points but it's not one of my favorite cards and in fact I don't use it much. It is however a good choice especially when the opponent uses a lot of cards with armor points that thanks to Sporcerer's Rust ability will start with -2 armor points. In the battle of this post Sporcerer's Rust ability is not useful because no opponent card has armor points. **Fourth position**: In fourth position I have deployed **Wood Nymph (level 6)**. Wood Nymph (level 6) is a really useful card because it has the Heal ability that can restore two life points to the card in first position. Because of its importance in battle I always try to deploy Wood Nymph in the middle positions (third or fourth) because they are the positions that provide more protection. **Fifth position**: In fifth position I chose to deploy **Tortisian Chief (level 4)** because it has a good magic attack (2) and especially has the ability Tank Heal that allows Flesh Golem to recover two life points each round of the battle. **Sixth position**: In sixth position I chose to deploy **Javelin Thrower (level 4)** because it is a good card to deploy in last position: it has a good attack from the distance (3 points) and especially has a high speed (5 points) that allows it to have a good chance to avoid attacks from opponent cards. As summoner I chose **Xander Foxwood (level 4)** because among my summoners of the element earth is the one that allows me to use the cards of higher level. Battle Considerations Generally for the "Share Your Battle" contest I choose a balanced battle, and in fact in this battle my opponent has an advantage based on total life + armor points while I have a slight advantage relative to total initial attack points: - my opponent has a total of life + armor points equal to 50 points while I have a total of life + armor points of 39 points. - I have a slightly higher total attack points than my opponent's battle formation (**13 vs 11**). From a strategic point of view my opponent decides to deploy a card with no attack in first position (Gelatinous Cube) but with a lot of life points and the ability Heal, 1 card with melee attack, 2 cards with magic attack and 2 cards with attack from distance. I instead decide to go for cards with magic attack (3 cards out of 6). Both me and my opponent have a card with Heal ability in first position and both of us have Wood Nymph in fourth position and Javelin Thrower in last position. During **Round 1** no cards are eliminated and the forces in play are still in substantial balance: I lose two armor points and my opponent loses 4 life points. In **Round 2** Gelatinous Cube has 5 life points and in the fourth turn of **Round 3** it is eliminated by the Flesh Golem attack. At the beginning of **Round 4** the situation has changed and is clearly in my favor. My opponent has only 4 cards in play while I still have all the starting cards. I have a double advantage in total attack points (13 vs 9) and total life + armor points (34 vs 30). At the beginning of Round 5 my opponent is left with only three cards, two of them with ranged attack, and in first position comes the enemy Wood Nymph and the outcome of the battle is now in my favor. My advantage continues to increase and the battle ends on the thirteenth turn of round 5 with a victory of my own. Final Considerations on Sporcerer **Sporcerer** is a card I very rarely use because I have cards in my collection that have better battle stats than Sporcerer, which is also why I have the Sporcerer card at level 1 and didn't choose to upgrade it. Although Sporcerer is not one of my favorite cards it is a card with good battle stats. It has a good two point magic attack already starting at level 1 and can be useful for new players who don't have many cards in their card collection. According to my point of view the favorable battle rules for using the Sporcerer card in battle are mainly: - Keep Your Distance - Armored Up - Reversed Speed - Rise of the Commons - Broken Arrows - Back to Basics With this post I am taking part in the weekly Splinterlands contest entitled "**Social Media Challenge**". The buying opportunities that Splinterlands offers: Estimated Value of Untamed Card Packs I've been playing Splinterlands for more than 17 months and every month I write and publish on Hive a monthly report in which I evaluate my Splinterlands adventure only from an economic and financial point of view. In my last monthly report I recorded the highest **profit** and **ROI** since I started playing Splinterlands: - **profit: $689.68** - **ROI: 246,69%** These two excellent financial results are mainly due to the **general increase in the market prices of Splinterlands cards** that took place in the last month. In fact, on **March 4, 2021** my collection of cards was worth **519.24 $** (using Market prices) Today **3 April 2021** my card collection is worth **$1052.04** (using Market prices) That's an incredible increase in value, and it's even more remarkable when you consider that I didn't buy any cards between March 4 and April 3, and I didn't find any valuable cards in the daily and fortnightly rewards. Not only did the cards gain value but the **DEC** tokens gained value as well: - **Lowest Ask** on HiveEngine/LeoDex: **0.00121 HIVE**. - **Highest Bid** on HiveEngine/LeoDex: **0.00108 HIVE** While the HIVE value of a DEC token is lower today than in the past, the dollar value of 1 DEC is much higher and in fact today **1 DEC token** is worth **$0.00092**. In this context of general increase of the market value of the cards **the estimated value of the packs of Untamed cards** has also increased. The **Peakmonsters** website provides Splinterlands players with a useful tool (https://peakmonsters.com/packs) to determine the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards. The **estimated value** of a pack of **Untamed** cards at the time of writing this post is: - **1.12$** in the situation where you don't have potions - **1.42$** in the situation where you use Alchemical potions - **1.57$** in the situation when using Legendary potions - **1.95$** in the situation where both Alchemical and Legendary potions are used Less than twenty days ago the estimated value of a pack of Untamed cards was much lower as you can see from the following image. Every so often I check and calculate if buying a pack of Untamed cards is a good opportunity to take and a good investment to make. I built myself a table that shows me the cost of a pack of Untamed cards using the different ways to buy them. Based on the current values of HIVE and DEC tokens and based on the above calculations, it is clear that buying a pack of cards from the **Shop** of Splinterlands **is not worth it** in the following cases: - **you don't have potions and you have to buy them** - **you have only alchemical potions** - **you only have legendary potions** If you **have potions and don't need to buy them** because you have found and accumulated a sufficient number of alchemical and legendary potions in the chests obtained from the completion of daily quests and from the rewards of the end of the season then the situation changes and in fact the cost per pack is lower than the estimated value ($1.95) in all cases: - **1.83194$**: purchase from Splinterlands shop - **1,6654$**: purchase of 100 packs (+ 10 Bonus) - **1,59299$**: purchase of 500 packs (+ 75 Bonus) while the estimated value is **1,35$**. If you have looked at the table well, there is a price that immediately jumps to the eye and that seemed immediately advantageous. Untamed card packs can also be purchased on **HiveEngine/LeoDex**. At the time of writing this post buying a pack of cards from HiveEngine/LeoDex is cheaper than buying from the Splinterlands shop and the lowest price is **$1.40802**. I have accumulated from completing daily quests a good number of both legendary and alchemical potions. Therefore, I decided to buy **24 packs of Untamed cards** right away and the highest price I paid was **1,889 HIVE ($1.42997)** for 20 packs of cards. Final Considerations Splinterlands offers several earning opportunities and theoretically when DEC tokens are worth little it can be a good choice to sell the cards because you receive a lot of DECs while when DECs are worth a lot and the cards decrease in value it can be convenient to use DECs to buy cards. In the current context where cards have gained so much value in a short time and **1000 DEC tokens** are worth **$0.92** it does not seem convenient to buy cards or use DEC tokens to buy cards. Rather I am considering whether to sell my **DEC** tokens to make **power up on Hive** or to buy **CUB tokens** on **CubFinance** (https://cubdefi.com/) I considered profitable to buy 24 packs of Untamed cards at the maximum price of 1.42$ even if **when you talk about estimated value you are never sure to make a profit**. In fact, as pointed out and clarified on the Peakmonsters site, estimates of the economic return on the purchase of a pack of cards are more accurate when buying a number of packs of cards greater than 500. In this post I wanted to share my thoughts and investment choices on Splinterlands **but I want to make it clear that I am not a financial advisor and my thoughts and purchase choices are my own and personal and should not be considered as an invitation to invest in Splinterlands.** Not a Splinterlands player?
