Early in the morning and I'm craving for this Maranao food—Pater. The one in the photo is a Chicken Piaparan Pater. I was craving so bad when I was in Cebu. I've been looking for it somewhere in Colon because way back in 2015, I saw Muslim brothers selling Pater along the highway. When I got back to Cebu in 2019, they weren't there already. Late 2020, I bumped into a Facebook post that a store somewhere in Cebu City is selling Chicken, Beef, and Tuna Pater. I ordered the moment I read the ad saying that it's from Iligan City. I even messaged my Muslim friend about it, and he ordered, too. Ugh! I miss Iligan City! Anyway, Pater is paired with Palapa. I'm not a fan of spicy food or condiments, but Palapa is definitely an exception. I could devour 2-3 Pater in one sitting. 😅
