you're on your own, kid (you always have been) When I was 17 years old, I remember that I was in tears while writing this blog. For some, my reason for that resentment might be shallow. But for me, all I ever thought before was that it was my ticket to a better future. After that traumatic rejection, I already understood firsthand why young Filipino adults choose to end their lives. However, in my case, I stood firmly that I can move on with that rejection. It doesn't seem so obvious, but I was ***passive suicidal*** back then. https://read.cash/@kingofreview/im-still-astonished-with-the-admission-result-b40767c4 Left without choice, I enrolled in a private university that I didn't even know existed. I also chose a program that I don't know I would prefer at the end of the day. Luckily, my uncle working overseas helped me financially. Although he has that bitch attitude, I am thankful for him as he was the bridge to building my dreams. Sometimes, I thought about my regrets if I ended my life like I read in the news. But of course, I am happy since it only became a *thought* and not a *reality*. Since my last update here, I was awarded the **highest-ranking marketing student on our campus** for **two** consecutive times.
Here is my photo together with my mother and the CMA faculty. It was the time when I claimed the "*Academic Achiever Rank 1*" way back on **April 3, 2024**. We took this photo when I was second year.
Then, I successfully got the title for the second way around last **April 3, 2025**. Fun fact that I not only got the highest rank on our campus. Yet, I also won a regional title where I won the **"Marketing Elite of the Year 2023."**
When I think about this title that I won, I can't help but thank God for giving me this blessing. I don't want to elaborate on it further. Still, I remember the time when the officers and the adviser of the JMA were surprised by my cleverness. Imagine I got 7 out of 10 questions correctly from the difficult round. Meanwhile, the second placer from our university only got 2 out of 10. Of course, the JMA (Junior Marketing Association) adviser was even more stunned when I replied that I was only second year when she asked me about my year level. In the middle of the last round of the competition, I heard the loud cheers of my schoolmates whenever I got the right answers. What's more iconic is the astonished reaction of the officers who handled that event. On top of that, what's even crazier is that I won this title from the ***university that*** *****rejected***** ***me before***. I think that this event was still valid for the entry since it still happened within a year. Plus, I got another recognition from my alma mater, the *same day* I was awarded as an academic achiever. I still recall the loud cheers of my schoolmates after the emcee announced that I got the "Overall Top 1" in relation to that achievement. Technically, it was **April 3, 2024**. Nevertheless, all I thought after getting this title is that "*It's the university's loss, not mine*." I consider this as my **SWEETEST REVENGE** ever!
About my **career**, I am happy since I still somehow managed to juggle work and studies.
Way back in **August 2024**, I landed a part-time job where I **write for different websites** using ChatGPT. I worked with someone here, but I can't specifically mention her because of technical issues. She has the client who hired her to do the job, but my friend decided to outsource it. Her only role is to do a minor revision and publish it directly on their software. Moving on to the nature of the job, I admit that it was easy. Since the job is manageable and doesn't take me too much effort, I only get paid at least $1 per article. However, as the cliché goes, "***You will be replaced by AI if you don't know how to use it properly.***" When I entered the pool of outsourced individuals, I was only retained because she thought that hiring them was only a waste of time. We stayed in business together for around five months. Unfortunately, we ended it since she wants someone she can oversee, and I am not fit since we were miles apart. I don't feel it as a big loss since I have already achieved my ultimate goal, which was to pay for my tour.
In **January 2025**, I got my second client and considered my first **direct client** from a startup company. My task with his company is to write eight sports articles in Filipino and English. I paid pretty nice from the first week, but the following weeks made my life hell and tolerable. The work is tolerable, but their salary delays are somewhat intolerable. Unfortunately, they still have not paid me their debt of ₱17,500 for the rendered service. Please take note that the mentioned careers are the only things that I juggled while I was studying. I also worked with our organization as a "**Communication**" officer starting in **August 2024**, although there's no formal voting occurred. The faculty members and the officers believed that I could fulfill my duties, and that's it. They didn't even ask my permission if I would go with it.
Anyway, my main role is to write social media posts about their contribution in the academic field. I believe that I was the **"jack-of-all-trades"** here since I am the **copywriter**, **PR**, and a **journalist** at the same time. I might sound boastful again, but I believe that my creative works were somehow good. You won't trace any AI patterns from my captions, and I sound on brand. That's what I think I stood out from the existing organizations in our university.
Even though I put myself into hell during my third year, I still somehow managed to get the **highest-ranked marketing student** on our campus. I'd call it my biggest flex if you think about how I pulled it off. I sacrificed a lot of sleep and missed events just to achieve this success. I have already mentioned it in the following paragraphs, but I'd like to end this way. Of course, I don't think I would achieve the greatest things that happened to me if I ended my life. Challenges are inevitable, but you can only achieve success if you don't face any obstacles. **Problems are two-way; either good or bad.** Of course, I am frank if I say that I don't want bad problems, but I like good problems. Everything will be possible if we keep our faith and thank Almighty God for everything. As I have mentioned before in my short updates, I am happy since I am on my way to graduating **"Cum Laude.**" They said that graduating with Latin Honors is impossible. No one from our major or even throughout the entire BSBA community has done it in the past years. Fortunately, I already meet all the standards, and my only problem is this internship. I may get this title that I have been dreaming of since my first year. That's my only response to this challenge.
