This is my Himalayan Salt Lamp. I wanted to buy one eversince I saw it and now I got it. This lamp weighs 2.950 kg. I bought it for aesthetic ambiance, not really for the health benefits that it is advertised but if it works then lucky. Although this one is a lamp, himalayan salt is edible which you can also use for foods. Himalayan salt is a kind of salt mined in Punjab region of Pakistan near the Himalayan foothills- the origins of the mineral date back hundreds of million of years. This is a pink expensive salt that contains a lot of minerals, such as copper, magnesium, etc. It is expensive as it is marketed with a lot of health benefits adding to its aesthetic color, for which it is often sold as lamps, and/or mixed with soaps and other cosmetics. Although it has a lot of minerals, experts have made it clear that it is made up of 98% sodium chloride and 2% of 83 other minerals. Some people claims that it helps with reducing aging, weight loss, regulating sleep and even increasing libido but there is no concrete evidence for it. Knowing these facts, would you replace your regular table salt for this luxury salt?
