Answer This Please

I'm really wondering, whenever I smell a red rose, I feel so romantic. It's like I'm taken somewhere else. The atmosphere suddenly changes and there is sweetness that I feel for a couple of seconds. Is there something or a substance inside those petals that invigorate our senses? And the effect is not the same with other color roses, like white and yellow. I know there would be a scientific explanation for this, but I'm quite sure it would be the reason why roses symbolize love. And you probably have watched a movie or a show where a lady is smelling a rose. But I am a man, and I don't know why it has the same effect to me. Just a random question swirling my mind.
