What's up, SARYAP? Our country are rich with different forms of water. Some of which are well-known internationally, like Boracay. But, most of these are undiscovered since it lacks support from it local government units. Nowadays, a lot of rivers, lakes, and others forms of water are being are undergoing beautification and improvement to become tourist destination within the community and eventually, internationally known tourist spots. Here in the province of Ilocos Sur, a lot of bodies of water are being improved and beautified to become an attraction. With the support of the LGUs of every municipality, these bodies of waters which seems to be neglected before are given attention and funds for its impovement, just like the Saryap River.

Saryap River is located in Brgy. Nansuagao,Caoayan. It is a few minutes drive from Vigan City. It has clear, fresh water with trees around it. Saryap river served as washing area of its residents because of its environment and its clean water. Residents in the said barangay and nearby barangays also get their food here like fresh water shells and fishes.

It started gaining attention when people posted pictures while they are there to wash their clothes or just simply taking a bath since people here in the province loves to take a bath in rivers. Because of the attention that the river is getting, the municipal government and the baranggay decided to improve its surroundings.

The LGUs are trying their very best in making Saryap River known to everyone. They are making these improvements to entice people's curiosity. But, despite these improvements and beautification, they are not neglecting the welfare of our nature. They always remind people to clean before they leave. They also provide garbage bag to be used. They also have placards posted like this one:

The place is not yet fully-developed but with the support of its LGU, Saryap will get the attention that it deserved. Let's support local attractions in our areas, and help develop these natural places that we have.
