Greeting the New Year with a Flu On New Year's Eve, the family was busy a we went to a family friend's house to celebrate the New Year. The sis-in-law picked us up, me and the kids, as Fred was still at work. Later, he arrived home. The sis-in-law, me and the kids went first to the friend's place and waited for Fred. I dropped Elise's food when I was on my way to the front door. What a disaster! Good thing, our family friend prepared food for Elise with mashed potato mixed with milk and egg. Fred arrived and brought some disco lights and a speaker for the party vibes. I actually brought the laptop. The original plan was to have a karaoke so that I could sing. But it never happened because I was really to sick. They started drinking champagne and whiskey while I had my orange juice. Good to have some sushi for starter. I only had few photos as I didn't bring my DSLR camera. I wasn't totally fine. As I breastfeed Elise, I went to the sofa to have a little sleep. Actually, the kids had a good nap except me. I only had an hour of sleep and it wasn't enough. I eat again as I was really hungry. They knew already I wasn't feeling well. Even though I was eating, I wasn't smiling at all. I told Fred it's better for me to go home with the kids and sleep. At 12 midnight, the kids and I went home and go to sleep. Fred went back to the family friend's place. He came back home at 2 AM. The next day, January 1, 2022. My husband woke up at 11 AM and Alexandre was playing around. I give food to the kids. I did some home chores even though I wasn't feeling fine. I put the clothes in the washing machine, put the washed clothes in the dry machine, started the dishes machine and swept the floor. My bedroom is not yet cleaned as there were so many toys on the floor. My husband arrived with 4 boxes of pizza. I was very tired. I told him we should go to sleep early. I fell asleep at 9 PM but woke up at 11 PM as I was so hungry, again. I heard Alexandre walking around upstairs while Fred didn't get his sleep as he was very sick. I also gave food to Elise. Elise just turned 6 months last Dec 30 and Alexandre at 23 months on Jan 1. It turns out I actually fell asleep at 3 AM. Alexandre didn't want to sleep so he came downstairs with me. He was crying upstairs and never wanted to sleep. He played around. He came to my bed to see Elise then I smelt something bad. Oops! He needs to go to the bathroom. After changing his diapers and clothes, at last, he goes to sleep. Elise became so uneasy and she was hot. She has fever. Uh oh, she is sick. She got it from me. Everyone is so sick in the New Year. It's my fault. I give paracetamol to Elise. The problem is, she can't breathe through her nose the reason she cried a lot. She got a blocked nose. I didn't have enough sleep either. I woke up at 11 AM to give her medicine and her bath. Fred woke up with Alexandre at 2 PM. He went back to sleep while Alexandre is playing around. He started to be so clingy with me as he is also sick. I drink my milk with Nesquick and honey. I gave food to Elise and Alexandre. I gave Alexandre several clementine while he was watching his favorite cartoon on YouTube. About 5 PM, I gave him a bath as he was tired. Got his changed clothes and diaper. Put him upstairs with his father at 6 PM. Suddenly, Fred came down to tell me Alexandre threw up. Another disaster! My husband has no choice but to get up as he needs to wash his bedsheets.
