Malaysia 2009 Royal Malaysian Navy 75th Anniversary Commemorative coin

On April 27, 2009, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) issued three types of commemorative coins in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The commemorative coins were launched on the same day by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj as Captain of the Royal Malaysian Navy, at the Royal Malaysian Navy Base, Lumut, Perak.

The back of the coin features the first Scorpene TLDM submarine, named the Tunku Abdul Rahman Royal Ship, taking on the name of the first Prime Minister of Malaysia (expected to arrive in July 2009). The word "JUBLI INTAN TLDM" appears in the center of the coin. The word "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" is displayed on the top of the coin, while its face value is at the bottom of the coin.

The front of the coin displays the RMN coat of arm on the center of the coin. Jawi writing matches for the words "75th Anniversary" and "Royal Malaysian Navy" are shown on the top and bottom of the coin. The commemorative coins are minted and packed by Bank Negara Malaysia and sold on 28 April 2009 at Bank Negara Malaysia's headquarters (BNMLINK), and at its branches in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.
