Isetan Maki Sushi Soba
Today I go to Isetan at the KLCC Suria Mall to check what discounted food I can buy.
After looking around for some time especially at the Japanese food section, I decided to buy the Maki Sushi Soba. I only pay RM12 instead of RM15 because of the discount. For those who don't know what Soba is, it is a thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheat. The noodles are served either chilled with a dipping sauce or hot in a noodle soup. The variety Nagano soba includes wheat flour.
it comes with a dipping sauce known as soba tsuyu which is in the pack in the middle of the tray. The tsuyu is made of a strong mixture of dashi, sweetened soy sauce, and mirin. Using chopsticks, the diner picks up a small amount of soba from the tray and dips it in the cold tsuyu before eating it. Here are more pictures of my Maki Sushi Soba.
