250th youtube video !!! The story behind the creation of this channel.

Recently I found out the number of videos on my youtube channel about to reach 250. Today I decided to do a video about the creation of my youtube call "Malaysia Numismatic " You can watch it by clicking this link, just beware that there is a lot of background noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAuaTja4Fkc ****In the beginning**** Before I started this youtube channel, I was doing collection trading around 2012. In the beginning, it is possible to earn a living doing this business. However businesses begin to slow down due to many people **jump on the bandwagon** when people reading news about Malaysia's old coin selling at a very high price. For me, the reason I do this field because of my love for history and I wanted to do a job that requirer one to be good at history. Confusing and chaotic market The sudden influx of sellers and buyers had caused some collection even the common type to increase the price. As if this is not bad enough, there are scammer taking this opportunity to scam people who seem too eager to buy without a second thought. Nobody bothers to ask why the coin worth that much or learn about it. "makin lama makin tinggi harga" If there is one line of the word i notice among those new sellers and buyers during the 2012~15 it will be the word " makin lama makin tinggi harga" , in English it translates "the longer the higher the price". Referring to the longer you hold the collection, the higher the value will increase in the future. I think people forget that the thing that brings value to all this collection is the history behind it, most just buy because they hope to make a profit in the future. Misinformation warfare This one is the most headache problem, this one is mostly done by the scammer and big player trying to "goreng" the market. The "goreng" means fry in English , mean the big player trying to create speculation. Some of them have powerful social media networks in Instagram, youtube, Facebook, and other sites I don't know. How it affects me indirectly Normally I don't bother what others do to avoid getting into trouble. However there is once a while a phone call from somebody asking me about how much their RM1 coin can sell, some wanted to sell it for a very high price. If you were unlucky, you might get one that scolds you for trying to scam him/her when you say you only can offer RM3 per piece for that RM1 coin. It can be very stressful to repeat the same thing again and again. Idea turn to reality Suddenly an idea came to my mind. For example, if everyone keeps asking about RM1 coin, why not create a video about it? When people ask me about it, I will just send them the link so that I don't need to tire myself explaining the same thing again and again. I once had 2 people asking me the same thing on the same days. I started this channel on 9 June 2015 with the uploading of my first video. Standing the test of time To do up to 250 videos for 5 years while having to cover all of Malaysia's numismatic history and event was no easy task. Some of these collections are not easy to get even if you have the money to buy due to its rarity. The only way is to borrow from dealer or collector to do a video about it. It was no easy task to get other dealers and collectors to borrow me their collection. Some side had their own interest to take care because some don't want people to know too much so that they had an advantage in negotiation. Some want me to video about some foreign country banknote or coin in exchange for borrowing me their collection. If there is one thing I had that most people lack, it would be my reputation as a person who will always keep my words. To be able to convince the owner of those collections to borrow me their collection, such a reputation is very important, more important than having money. After 5 years While my channel is not the biggest in the world , it is the biggest in Malaysia covering about Malaysia numismatic history. Currently, my channel had 2870 subscribers. It is not easy to gain this much subscriber because the topic I cover is not everyone's cup of tea. I am one of the 2 numismatic channels in Malaysia that qualify for the  YouTube Partner Program.
