Charcoal Durian Hiang Piah
Yesterday at Cold Storage at KLCC Suria Mall I saw a few boxes of Charcoal Durian Hiang Piah selling at RM14.90 with a buy 1 free 1 offer.
Not sure why they call it Hiang Piah, the correct way to call it is Heong Peng. This is a type of pastry that resembles slightly flattened balls, contains a sweet sticky filling made from malt and shallots, which is covered by a flaky baked crust and garnished with sesame seeds on the surface. For this one, they make a durian flavor type. I have this Charcoal Durian Hiang Piah with coffee for breakfast. I feel it is kind of overrated.
