Malaysia 2002 45th anniversary of merdeka Commemorative coin
Bank Negara Malaysia issued three types of commemorative coins in conjunction with the 45th anniversary of independence on 31 August 2002. All three coins are legal tender as follows; RM100 gold Coin (proof), RM10 silver Coin (proof), and RM1 Nordic Gold Coin (Brilliant Uncirculated and proof). The quantity of this coin is in the smallest in the history of Malaysia's Commemorative Coin production. The commemorative coins are sold on 2 September 2002 at the following sales centers: The General Post Office, Kuala Lumpur, and 13 State Post Offices, selected branches of AmBank Berhad and AmFinance Berhad, Coin Shoppe The Royal Mint of Malaysia, Lot 2, Persiaran Selangor, Section 15, 40740 Shah Alam and Currency Museum, Bank Negara Malaysia, Jalan Dato 'Onn, 50480 Kuala Lumpur.
All three coins have the same design. On its front cover the Malaysian flag, logo, and national day theme 2002, 'Keranamu Malaysia', the word '45 YEAR MERDEKA 'and date '31 AUGUST 2002'. The design of the back of the coins is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, KL Monorail, and the Kuala Lumpur Tower, the face value, and the word 'BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA'.
