20th August,2020 Before starting my article i like to request my dear readers first to express gratitude to God if you are still able to take breath by your own.We may live in different corners of earth but this year a virus united us in many ways..It has changed our lives in a greater extent.Yes,i am talking about **COVID-19**,the deadliest ,highly transmissible respiratory pathogen which have the ability to stop your breathing. Let's take a look in these radiographs.

This is a normal chest xray . The marked areas are lungs.Lungs are respiratory organ which help us in air exchange eg. O2 from air and Co2 from body. On radiograph air represent as black shadow as seen in above picture.

Here is a radiograph of a covid 19 patient.Just look at the lung fields.It becomes **opaque** which represents that there is **no air** .On chest x-ray lung fields appear as opaque when there is fluid .When there is fluid in lungs instead of air it represents pneumonia.Covid 19 patients rapidly growing pneumonia which involve their both lung within short time period.It results in **acute** **respiratory distress** and patient need immediate mechanical ventilation on ICU. Covid patients die because their lungs can't maintain a normal oxygen saturation.Normal oxygen saturation is about 98-99%.There are many other complications arise from covid 19 infection, not only pneumonia.Other causes of death also seen from Corona infection eg stroke ,Multi organ failure etc. Complications occur in 3% of affected population.Well, that's not a matter of relief as it is not predictable who will develop complications.But mostly the co-morbid population affected more. I am not scaring anyone just a reminder if you are following the health rules.
