OMG! Itey naba ang sign? Dali-dali kong binunot yung uban. Hayy..Nawala rin sya..Pero the next day, may isang bagong uban na naman! Hindi na siguro mapipigilan ang pagtanda ko. Well, lahat naman tayo patanda- walang tumatandang pabata lol. Ano kaya yun. Gusto ko pang maki-Tiktok, you know. I pramis. The top 4 courses that I wanted to take in college. One of the most exciting experiences in high school is thinking about what course to take because it is the first step in the realization of one's dreams. Some are being pressured by their parents because they want their kids to follow their legacy or a grandparent's footsteps, some were lucky enough to be given the choice to choose whatever course they love. Have you been given the freedom in choosing your course or did your parents force you? Were you grateful that they did or were you sad and miserable? Anyways, before the college entrance exam, we filled out forms and one of the questions on top of the paper were my top 3 courses should I pass the exam. Depending on my score, on which subject is the highest, they will then give me that corresponding course. But the very first course that I wanted to take wasn't offered in MSU- Iligan but in MSU- Marawi. I long to be an ambassador or a consul and the course for that matter was International Relations. Sadly, my mother didn't approve so I had no choice but to just take the exam at MSU-IIT. Luckily, I passed the exam. My score was 100/160. Do you wanna know what were my top 3 choices for the course? Here they are: Top 1- International Relations I want to represent my country and the best position for me would be either to become an ambassador or a consul. I didn't want the presidency. I was once an officer, a president in college, and it was a total headache. How much more does a president have? I love my country, the Philippines, and I want to serve it as much as I can. I want to protect its interest, its sovereignty, and make it known to the world that it is a peace-loving and beautiful country. Top 2 - Electrical Engineer I studied Electricity when I was in my 3rd and 4th year in high school. I was the only girl in the class but it didn't stop me from becoming one of the top students. I didn't know how to use the hammer and I could still remember the pain when I was driving the nails into the wood during our Building and Wiring final exam. I could still remember how to wire and fix wires and appliances, the technical terms, how to make a schematic diagram, bird's eye view, floor and electrical plans of a house or a building. It did help me in my major subjects when I studied Computer Science. Top 3 -Biology I wanted to become a Botanist because I was inspired by my Biology teacher, Mrs. Gomez. I liked seeing the bacteria and other stuff in the microscope. I wanted to study, observe different species, and discover further the healing properties of the plants. I still can remember some of the classes of insects until this moment. I was good at Biology, Science, in general. I joined Investigatory Research competitions in high school and I won champion in the District and 1st place at the Division level. I could have become a doctor if they gave me the chance to become a Botanist or Biologist. Top 4- AB English Linguistics I am Thalia's fan and because of her, I wanted to study Spanish and other languages. I aspired to become an interpreter hence AB English Linguistics. I got the highest score in English, hence, they gave me AB English. It was nice at first, but the department wanted us to take a lot of seminars and I didn't have enough money to pay for the tickets. But I did enjoy my 6 months at the Uni as an AB English Linguistics student. I did have good grades in all my subjects except for Math because I really couldn't understand it. I had a failing grade of 5.0. I could have been on a different path right now should I have succeeded in one of those courses. Regrets? We all have that. But one thing I am thankful for, my parents gave me the freedom to choose, except for International Relations. It would be different with my kids, I will support them all the way as long as their dreams will make them responsible and better individuals. My cousins let their parents choose their courses and I could testify that they are now very successful in their field. My cousin Ping, the eldest of the three, is now a nurse in the USA, her sister is a chemical engineer based in Dubai, and their youngest is a maritime engineer. I think as parents, we can suggest courses to our kids but let them decide. We can push them to aim for their dreams and be there when they need our support. **Can you tell me what was your course and did you like it? Did your parents advise you what to take or was it of your own free will? Are you practicing it now as your career? Pizza or tacos? Fyrfinex reveals herself! I wanted to write something serious but since I've been here for only 2 days, why not share something about myself? Just like a budding friendship, new friends should get to know each other well. So I went to the Random Generator site and selected several questions to answer. https://faculty.washington.edu/ejslager/random-generator/index.html Here they are: **Pizza or tacos?** Por queue, why do I have to choose between these two? They both taste yummy. Hmm, Italian or Mexican? Sorry folks but it's going to be pizza this time. I am a pizza lover, to be honest. I love Hawaiian pizza. The cheesier, the better. I love brick oven pizza the best. **Who are some of your heroes?** I consider myself my own personal hero because I always save myself. I also look up to my instructors as heroes because they sacrificed a lot just to provide us with quality education. And lastly, the Avengers are my heroes as well. **Who was your favorite teacher and why?** My favorite teacher was Mrs. Borj because she helped me love and understand Math more than anyone else during my academic years. You know, I used to fail in Math when I was in my first year at uni but when I transferred to another school and she became my instructor, I turned out to be one of the bests in class. **Have you ever saved someone's life?** Have I? I think so. It was when someone needed a bag of blood and no one wanted to give them money to buy it. I gave them the amount they needed. We were both patients. **What bends your mind every time you think about it?** Hmm, a hard question. I think it's about life in general. I mean death. I couldn't help but get curious on what's the other side of life- new life. **What's your favorite book?** I don't have a favorite book but I am pretty sure I have already read several great books. I don't own books so I don't have the opportunity to read them over and over again to consider them my favorite. Maybe, Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Claire. I only read it online and I liked it so much. **Who inspires you to be better?** My kids inspire me to be a better person, mom, and partner. **What's the worst movie you've ever seen?** The worst movie I've ever seen was a movie with Bruce Willis as the main character. I forgot the title, I am sorry. I don't know, the story, the actors, everything was so boring. It was like a low-budget kind of film. **What's one place you've traveled that you never want to go back to?** The hospital where I gave birth to my firstborn. The doctors, nurses, and staff were shouting at the patients and the comfort rooms were so dirty. And I couldn't contain my pee anymore so I went in one of those and saw my worst nightmare. Those are some random things about myself. If you want to ask more questions, feel free to drop your comment. Let's get to know each other! Aloha, read.cash! 👋 The phoenix is immortal. It rises from the ashes and then flies again. It is my favorite mythical bird so I chose to be a part of my username. And my birth element as per astrology is fire,  hence the birth of fyrfinex. "I'm your phoenix, I'm your fire", but probably not what you desire, we'll see about that! **Hello, boys and girls of the read.cash community! My name is fyrfinex.** I am here to continue my journey in this blogging and writing world. Allow me introduce myself: I was born in the city of waterfalls- Iligan City. I fell in love with the sea when I was a kid- dreamt and shared my triumphs and tears with this body of water. I was competitive during my academic years. I joined a number of different competitions, experienced winning and losing. Poetry writing and journalism were extensions of myself. I used to write a poem every night when I was in high school about my crush, the challenges of life, the excitements of love. Imagine how many have I composed if I only had archived them. I could already published a book. I love dancing since I was a little girl. It's my highest form of self-expression. A world where I am the god worshipped by my spectators. My mom was my number 1 fan. She was a dancer too. And I know how to play the guitar. I got the talent from my parents. They were performers during their younger years. Music bonded us when they were still alive. I can sing but I am not a singer like them. I used to be a single mom but met a wonderful guy and his family who accepted my lovechild and now, I have 2 kids- both girls. The oldest is 7 and the youngest is 1.7 years old. I live with my partner and his family. I used to be a VA or Virtual Assistant but I stopped to regain good health. I then got pregnant with my youngest before I could go back to working in the BPO industry. And here I am now, trying my luck here. I can't wait to share my experiences, my thoughts, and my life story with you. Again. That is me. My story. My life. Thank you for sparing a little bit of your time.
