What Does Today December 19 2020 Mean To Me ! Went for a funeral today. Funeral was that of my dad’s cousin. He was 75. It went well. There were chiefs and some prominent people there too. I spent all day there. I left the house at 6:30am and got home at 6:30pm. May he Rest In Peace.

What Does Today December 18 2020 Mean To Me Went to the Burma Camp today. That’s Ghana’s military base headquarters. The air force, the navy, the armed forces and all others have their offices there. I went for a package from a military guy. Was nice passing by the place getting to see the environment. I walked a lot but it was worth it.

What Does Today December 17 2020 Mean To Me Did my morning devotion and went to work today. Working at my boss’s house today. We finished early and I left his place after 3pm. It has rained so we closed early. The road was flooded and I had to walk in water. Wasn’t a stressful day which is good news, but no money being made by me is bad news.

What Does Today December 16 2020 Mean To Me Job is back in session. Went to work with my boss today. Got there at 10 and left after 2. We did profiling where we mark the place for foundation digging. Came to my bosses place to do some work when we finished at the site. There were some children playing around whiles we worked in my boss’s house. We closed at 5:30. It’s not been a bad day.

What Does Today December 15 2020 Mean To Me No work today so went out to see a friend. Left the house at 9am and returned after 9:30pm. There was a lot of traffic on the road. I spent over 5 hours on the road. I’m really tired. Had a good time though, and I’m glad I went. Tomorrow, I’ve got work so might not be free anytime soon. Money is also needed for Christmas and generally, inflation is going up. Prices keep going up by the day. I need to make some cash.

What Does Today December 14 2020 Mean To Me First working day of the week but I was home today. No jobs yet. Started cooking beans in the morning, finished in the afternoon. It took me more than an hour to start the fire. Used about half of the matchsticks in the matchbox. I kept trying until finally, there was fire for cooking. I had my morning devotion early on and I went back to sleep. Woke up at 9am again and that’s when I tried setting the fire. It was 10:30 when the beans actually went on fire. I’m happy I didn’t give up though. I went for youth meeting at church in the evening. I had planned to go for a walk, but I forgot there was church so when I remembered I had to go to church, I skipped the walk. Had a good time in church.

What Does Today December 13 2020 Mean To Me Happy Sunday. Hope you’ve had a sun filled day. Mine hasn’t been bad. Woke up early to do my morning devotion today. I missed it yesterday because I was super sleepy. I was called to join the rest of the family but I slept. Today, I was able to wake up for the morning devotion. Got on my phone and checked on a transaction I made yesterday that’s been pending. Contacted customer service but to no avail. Guess I’ve lost the bitcoin cash I was trying to withdraw for fiat. I prepared for church and at 9, I left for church. Had a good time in church where the topic was revival. Revival doesn’t need a crowd, it begins with you. If those who claim to be Christians are revived by the Holy Spirit, the world would have been a better place to be. Zechariah 8 Today was also celebrated as the 1st anniversary of the passing of our former youth president in the church. His family came to church so we have the first anniversary. I did laundry after church. I’ve not been going anywhere most of the week but I’m used to washing on Sundays. Came to sit outside a bit at dusk and the dog came to sleep by me. Watched movies till night time and even after my dinner. Had mashed plantain with groundnuts for supper. Was delicious because the plantain was a bit ripe.

What Does Today December 12 2020 Mean To Me Day was spent at home doing nothing. I couldn’t wake up early to have my morning devotion because I didn’t sleep early. I slept at 3am because I was downloading movies. I went for a walk in the evening where I bought dinner. I bought fried rice and chicken for 1$. Wasn’t bad at all.

What Does Today December 11 2020 Mean To Me Had my morning devotion and went back to bed. I was feeling sleepy. Later in the day, I got to know that some monies were being distributed to electoral officers. I went to the venue for mine. I passed by the market on my way home to get some boxer shorts. I went to do a printout regarding a job I’ve applied for. There’s a business center right across the street from where I am and that’s where I went. Deadline for the job is today so I had no time. Hoping for a positive response from it.

What Does Today December 10 2020 Mean To Me Been a quiet day since I didn’t go to work. I woke up early as always and had my morning devotion. I prepared for work and after calling my boss, I realized there will be no work today. Spent the day watching movies and in the evening, I went out for a walk. Captured some scenes whiles on my walk. I had been indoors all day so wanted to see the world. I didn’t go too far though, just around the neighborhood.

What Does Today December 9 2020 Mean To Me Been a fairly good day. There was tension in Ghana from yesterday because the 2 main parties in the presidential elections were claiming they were in the lead. I got up early as usual to do my morning devotion. Went to work after that but before then, went to help my boss and his friends carry some concrete slabs to cover a pit. My shirt got torn in the process. From there, I went to the site to work with my boss. We closed at 2:30pm today. I went home and had a nap. Woke up to hear the announcement of the winner of the elections. Hopefully, the losing party will concede. We wait to see what happens tomorrow.

What Does Today December 7 2020 Mean To Me It’s Election Day in Ghana. Presidential and parliamentary elections being held across the country today to choose the next president and member of parliaments. Thank God where I was posted to was violent free. I worked today as an electoral officer for the electoral commission of Ghana. There are reports of gunshots in other polling stations but mine was quiet. We started peacefully and ended peacefully and I took a car back home. Hoping to hear who wins soon.

What Does Today December 6 2020 Mean To Me Today is a Sunday and it’s church day for me. I woke up early but didn’t get to church early. Was on my phone and before I knew it. It was 9am. Quickly got ready and went to church. Had a wonderful time at church even though we closed late. I did some laundry when I got home. Watched movies after laundry whiles eating. Went out to withdraw money later in the evening. Will wake up early tomorrow so hoping I can sleep early today.

What Does Today December 5 2020 Mean To Me My boss had given his car to his mechanic for repairs, so today we had to walk to work. Woke up at 5am, did my morning devotion and got ready for work. I left the house with my brother to my bosses house. We picked up tools that we will need and went to the site to work. The building owner came around when we were about to close. He still said he didn’t have money, so we weren’t paid. That’s 2 days working with no pay. Got home before 6:30 pm. I had my bath and ate dinner. I ate Banku and hot pepper with eggs. Lights went off at 9pm and I went to bed at 9:30pm.

What Does Today December 03 2020 Mean To Me Woke up early because I couldn’t sleep. At 5am, I had my morning devotion. I got ready and went to work. We went to 3 different places to work and it was a tiring day. Left the house at 7am and closed at 7pm. We worked well into the night and used our phones as torches. Went to church when I got home. We closed after 10pm and I slept late even though I didn’t want to this time round.

What Does Today November 30 2020 Mean To Me Been a day at home. Was home all day because there’s no work today. Spent the day watching movies and chatting on my phone. I didn’t go out all day. My boss called later in the day to say there might be work tomorrow. I’m glad there’s finally work. Hoping for the best. Don’t know what happened to the dog, I was happy to be around by then. I’ve always wanted to snap the dog when he does that. I don’t know why though, but I find it fascinating

What Does Today November 29 2020 Mean To Me Been a good day. Went to church today since I’m a Sunday worshiper. Had a good time in church. We read from Luke 7:35-38 in today’s service. Lessons from the woman who bought expensive alabaster oil to anoint the feet of Christ. 1. She used her tears to wipe His feet which is worth more than water. 2. She opened the alabaster oil and poured it on His feet. 3. She kissed His feet. A friend came to visit and I went to escort her to the bus stop. I was also able to wash before going to church. Been a good day.

What Does Today November 28 2020 Mean To Me Been home all day today watching movies. Tried to cook beans but couldn’t start the fire. Tried as I may, the fire won’t start. I gave up and decided to grind hot pepper for beans instead. I went to buy egg but my egg seller didn’t come today so I ended up buying fish instead. It’s all protein. Mum came around later and she started the fire for me so I was able to cook the beans but I will eat it tomorrow. I went to buy chocolate for a friend. This is made in Ghana chocolate with cocoa right here from Ghana. You should get one and compare with the chocolate in your country.

What Does Today November 26 2020 Mean To Me Went to my aunts house today. She was having some problems with her tv and she asked me to come yesterday. I almost forgot but when I remembered, I went to help her. Her tv was stuck on analog whiles it needed to be on digital. I went to help her with that and I was done in a short time. I didn’t go t work today too so when I got home, I occupied myself with movies. Before 6pm, my boss to tell me there will be work tomorrow. Some good news for the day. I ate fufu and light soup for dinner.

What Does Today November 25 2020 Mean To Me Cooked red beans today. It’s just like the normal beans just reddish in colour and a bit hard. There was no work today too. My boss went for his driver’s license. He budgeted GHc800 or about 150$ and when he got there, the cost was GHc1,200 or about 225$. He couldn’t do it again and came back home. We hope there will be a job soon so we get enough money to do what we want. Christmas is approaching.

What Does Today November 24 2020 Mean To Me It’s been a no work day today too. My boss says the client hasn’t bought the materials for the work, so there wouldn’t be any work today. I woke up early though, to prepare. Thinking that there will be work. I don’t even know if there will be work tomorrow but I have to wake up early and prepare. I fried some plantain chips in the afternoon and I went for a walk in the evening.

What Does Today November 23 2020 Mean To Me First working day of the week and I woke up at 4 to make a post. I later realized it was too early as I was done before 4:30 am. I couldn’t go back to sleep as it takes a while for me to get sleepy and by then, I might be late for work. I bathed and prepared for work. It was too early when I was done so was watching a movie until 7am. I called my boss to ask him where we will be working today. He asked to call me back so I waited. He called back at 10am to say we wouldn’t be working today. The client had not bought all the materials needed for us to start work. He told me it’s likely we will go tomorrow. I had a free day but nothing planned. I washed a towel I had soaked yesterday. Then I tried to sleep again but sleep eluded me. After a while, I gave up trying to sleep. I was playing games and chatting with friends. At that time someone called to ask if we had low voltage. I checked and the fridge and the fluorescent lights were not working. Laptop and phones were charging but the voltage had gone low and I didn’t notice. I switched of everything. Earlier this year, same thing happened and when the lights returned, the voltage was too high it blew up my brothers laptop charger. The lights fully returned at 4 pm and that’s when I charged my phone. Was with a friend when the lights came. We went to buy Pringles from a supermarket nearby. Came back home at 6 to eat dinner and at 8, the sleep finally came.

What Does Today November 22 2020 Mean To Me Woke up early even on a Sunday. Woke up to make a post and I didn’t go back to sleep. After my post, I did some laundry. I ate, bathed and ht ready for church. Church was great. Had a visiting pastor from another church who came to preach. He preached about Jesus, the only son of God meeting a widow whose only son was dead. Jesus had done a miracle in Capernaum and a large crowd followed Him singing praises when He met another group mourning the loss of a widow’s only son. After Jesus had met the second group, their mourning turned into rejoicing. Luke 7:11-17 There are three particular meetings that took place when Jesus got to the gates of Nain. * 1st Meeting 2 large crowds met. Those with Jesus who were rejoicing and those with the widow who were mourning. * 2nd Meeting The only son of the widow met the only son of God. The dead son met the living son. * 3rd Meeting The one who had help met the one who needed help. Bought ice kenkey and groundnut in church which I ate when I got home. Made some pancakes too and I took it with a drink. Wanted to go to the beach but it started raining so couldn’t go. I slept instead. Was too late for the beach when I woke up, so spent the time watching movies and chatting.

What Does Today November 21 2020 Mean To Me on my way to work Woke up at 6am. Bathed, ate and dressed up for work. Was about leaving the house at 7:30am when my boss called. He had somewhere to go so he will call and ask me to come upon his return. I undressed and decided to wait for his call. Watched some movies whiles waiting and was on WhatsApp too. At 12, he called that he was back home. I left the house to go and meet him at his house after eating lunch. We packed the necessary tools and went to the location we will be working at. It’s the same place we went to on Thursday. We didn’t finish with the work so we came to continue. I’m still getting the hang of it, but still a bit slow. Hopefully, I will get better much sooner. Closed at 6 and I sent the tools back to my bosses house . I got home at 6:50pm. Shortly after getting home, my friend called and said he was coming over. He came around 7:30and we had a chat. I went to escort him at 8 and got back at 8:30pm. I came to eat dinner and I’ve been watching movies since.

What Does Today November 20 2020 Mean To Me I didn’t go to work today. Ghana has elections on the 7th of December and I had applied to be one of the electoral officers. I applied to be a presiding officer but the person in charge of it wouldn’t give it to me. I applied to be a presiding officer during the Voters registration exercise and I was unavailable. Due to that, he says he’s no longer going to give me that position during the elections. What I was given was ballot issuer, which means I issue ballot papers to prospective voters. The training was held at the Accra College of Education. I woke up early as always. Brushed my teeth, took my bath and had my breakfast. Official starting time for the training was 8am and I left the house at 7:30. I hurriedly got to the venue at 8:30am thinking I was late only to realize that nothing had started. At 9:30, we were divided into groups for the training, and the training began at 10am. By 12 noon, we were done with the training. They are supposed to give us transportation and lunch, but those were yet to arrive. At 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the transportation had arrived and it was distributed to us, we were now waiting for the food. At 2:30pm, I decided to no longer wait for the food. It had taken too long and I wanted to go and visit someone. I left the training grounds around that time, leaving my food behind. I got into a bus and left for my friends place. I got there at 4:30pm. This is the friend who was broken-hearted on Tuesday, but she’s over it today. She’s doing much better. I bought rice at her place and we ate together. Unfortunate, I forgot to snap any photos of her or the food. I only took pictures on my way there. I left her place at 8:30 and got home a little after 10pm.

What Does Today November 19 2020 Mean To Me **Today had been much better. Woke up at 5am today. I was to meet my boss (for lack of a better expression) at his home today. He doesn’t live too far from me.  By 6:30 am, I had bathed and eaten, setting off for his place. I got to his side just after 7am. I went to help him pack the tools and all necessary materials into his trunk. We bent some of the iron and made iron mats.**  The iron mats are used as foundation for pillars. First place we went to, we made iron bars to be used inside the pillars for holding gates. We finished off at the first place when went to a house to measure the iron bars needed. Whiles there, someone from another house asked our help. That was the second place that we worked. We went to fix a iron bar for his pillar which he paid just there. We went back to the house to measure the rest of iron bars needed. We went to another house where we did the iron bars we’ve gone to measure.  That’s where we did most of the work today. Made two 30 feet mesh bars and four other small ones. Wasn’t much work, but because I couldn’t work as fast, we didn’t finish very early. We closed at 5pm and went back to my bosses house. He was going to fill his gas cylinder, so I placed the cylinder in his trunk after I had offloaded everything that we came back with including all tools. We went to the gas station to fill the LPG and then he went to drop me off. Got him and just after undressing, the lights went off. I went to bed since I had no generators. Woke up after 11pm and the light was back, so finally able to charge my phone.

How Was Today November 18 2020 Like For Me? Been a really a tiring day.  Africans just like too much work. Woke up at 6:30am even though I slept after 2am again. I tried going back to sleep but the sleep wouldn’t come. Got up finally at 6:50. I did my normal morning exercise. I came online to check on my messages and check on my laptop. Around 8:30am m, a steel bender called me about a job and asked me to meet him. I told him I was getting ready so I will call him when I’m done.  I quickly got some food to eat, brushed my teeth and had my bath. I called him back at 9 to tell him I was ready. He asked me to meet him so I left the house. We met at Pantang Junction, I sat in his car and we were on our way. We picked up another worker on our way and we all went there. The place was quiet far, considering he had his own car and there was no traffic, we drove for 30 minutes. Where we were going was Adoteiman. It was my first time so I was being taught how to go about almost everything. I was thought how to straighten iron rods, how to cut them and how to mesh (don’t know if that’s the right term) them. I took a few pictures when nobody was looking at me because I didn’t want anyone saying I was being lazy and spending the time on my phone whiles there was work to be done. Because we were late to the site, we didn’t really go on a break. When you want to piss or eat, you take sometime off and do that, but you get right back to work when you are done. It was a great learning experience and the one teaching me took his time to take me through everything.  Whiles doing the mesh, I realized the other guy I was working with was quicker when it came to cutting the thing iron strips we used for the mesh. I knew I was new, so that can be the reason for me being slow, but the rate at which he was moving was extremely fast for me. When he went on break, I took his cutter to work with it. I realized his was much sharper and I didn’t need to apply a lot of energy to cut the mesh unlike the cutter I was using. I loudly complained and said, “now I know the reason why the work has been so difficult for me. My cutter is blunt and so I have to use a lot of strength when cutting”.  The person who invited me for the job only said, “you should manage, the good cutters are expensive, and what you are using is also what I’ve been using. When you get used to the cutter, you will be able to move fast”. At the end of the day, there was blisters on my palms and my palms ached. I wasn’t tired from all the work we had done, but my hand ached like crazy. I had a few cuts and bruises on my right palm which I used to hold the cutter. I got home almost 7pm. I ate dinner and had my bath. I couldn’t wash well as I couldn’t hold my sponge firmly. I do hope I feel better by tomorrow since he called me about another job tomorrow morning. I do hope tomorrow is easier, or I’m more capable to go through it tomorrow. I was dark when I went to work in the morning and now I think I’m fully black.
