My modern and responsive theme for member.cash is now live as the **DEFAULT** theme! Thank you for all the feedback and a big thank you to @freetrade who has been super helpful and accommodating. There are still some style bugs/ tweaks that need to be worked out so expect more updates over the following weeks. After these bugs have been address I will start working on a 🌙 dark mode for member. https://member.cash

ENGAGEMENT FEATURES
Retweets - A new Memo protocol action for users to retweet (or re-member!) posts. This is a critically important feature to drive engagement. With retweets, any user's post can be retweeted - this incentivizes good content and it is an exciting prospect for users to be rebroadcast across the whole network.
Notifications on replies in threads - An option to create a notification any time there is a new reply in a thread that a member has commented in.
Post previews - When posts are linked from Twitter, or in a search index, there is no post or text preview for links to member.cash. Having a preview will be helpful for search ranking and for getting visits from Twitter.
Notifications on mobile app - Member uses a progressive webapp for mobile devices. Add notifications will allow members to see right away if they have new notifications.
USABILITY FEATURES
Faucet - One of the roadblocks new users face is getting a few cents of Bitcoin Cash to play around with. Once they have a few posts, they can usually get some tips to keep going. We'll have a faucet, human moderated if needed, to supply a few cents to genuine new users.
Improved markdown editor for medium style articles - read.cash uses the tiptap editor for markdown - it's great and I'd like to allow members to use that or a similar editor to easily create compelling long medium style posts.
Redesign top menu / hamburger menu with usability in mind
Check funds before posting - useful when posting long replies/articles and judging how many transactions/satoshis are required for a post.
INFORMATIONAL FEATURES
Show tips - This will allow users to see which other users tipped a post at a glance.
Moderator tools/interface - Allow members to see which posts/members were flagged by which moderators.
Profile of user on mouse over - Get quick access to information about Members on mouse over.
INTERFACE IMPROVEMENTS
Profile Pics - The server will download and supply profile pics to improve the user interface
Media integrations - Currently Twitter/YouTube/Imgur are supported - I have a list of other media I'd like to display inline
Modern Theme - Updating the theme to use modern CSS frameworks to make member.cash feel contemporary.
ALGORITHMIC IMPROVEMENTS
Improved algorithm for web of trust - This algorithm needs a rework to provide meaningful web of trust ratings for users.
Member.cash Theme Dev PR review - Day 5
We made it... it's Friday and after a full 40+ hour week of hard work, my responsive member.cash theme has now been submitted for review.
**Is this the end?**
No, of course not. I have been inundated with requests for a dark mode theme version. Once the current light theme has been merged into the main codebase and all of the kinks 😉 have been worked out I will create the dark theme.

Go play around with the demo (link below) - small style tweaks are sill being made so make sure you clear you cache.

Member.cash Theme Dev with DEMO - Day 4

Toady marks the fourth consecutive day of development on my custom fully responsive, member.cash theme. It's been hard work but worth the effort - It looks amazing!
The structure of member's HTML has been really challenging my limits in terms of styling and using attribute selectors, pseudo elements etc. But with every passing day I am picking up more and more momentum as the components start getting reused as much as possible. Below is the current SCSS file structure for the theme. As you can see it has grown a lot!

Day 2 - Member.Cash theme dev
Wow,

Toady has been very productive and rather than waffle on I want to dive right in...
**Organisation**
As I this is the first SCSS theme for member.cash that I can tell. I have created a style hierarchy starting the with any plugins, then moving to core base items, components come next and finally the page styles. https://member.cash
This allows for granular control over the theme development.
**Custom HTML**
Through the magic of the internet I have spoken with FreeTrade and when asked about adding/modifying html elements has stated
Yes I think we'll need to balance the improvements your theme brings with the impact on existing themes, but generally if it's an improvement to the HTML and keeps or increases the content/style separation, I'm happy to make it.
This is super useful as the current layout does not easily accommodate for a mobile hamburger menu, **which was one of the goals setting out on the project**
Twitter Meets Reddit
Member.cash takes the best bits of reddit and twitter, allowing you to post short content or post full articles. Toady I finalised (90%) the styles for both types of post and comments

Member.Cash Theme Dev progress and thoughts #1
I have some time on my side at the moment due to the Coronavirus. Instead of wasting it, I thought it's time to give back to the Bitcoin Cash community. The community has been shaken to it core over the last few weeks with the DAA chaos. We have shown our strength with multiple successful Flipstarter's and community responses in favour of maintaining decentralisation and not being lead by a tyrant.
Memo.cash is a great platform to get started in world of blockchain social, but soon you realise the UX is functional but not attractive in the slightest and the excitement of uncensorable discussion wears off quickly when you can smell the bootsrap theming and the scammers/ begars running wild.
Introducing Member.cash, developed by freetrade,et al. and it's open source on GitHub! It is still actively being improved upon and even includes moderation, private messaging and trust graphs.
However just like Memo, Member.cash also lack's in modern UX. So that's what i've been up to, adding a modern touch to memer.cash and I will document my progress and thoughts.

Things that have annoyed me so far.
No user icons or identicons. Visuals are everything in 2020 so this should be a top priority for member dev's

Navigation is horrible. Icons are great, but if the icon is not clear and commonly used, users have no clue what it is.
Member also lacks and inbuilt mobile navigation / hamburger menu.
