How to have a grateful heart
Be content. Contentment is the attitude cultivated by consistent consideration of God's daily provision to us. With a content heart, we can be thankful. It will be easy and natural to thank God for all the troubles and triumphs we are experiencing, and for all the people who give us joy and sorrows. Stop Complaining. An Indian proverb says," I complained because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet. "When misfortunes come,it is natural to complain,Yet these are the moments we are challenge to be thankful.Commit this proverb to memory and reflect on it every time you feel like complaining and comparing your situation with other. Develop an attitude of gratitude. It may not sound sensible but we have to be thankful in all situations. Start being thankful for the little things, then branch out.Turn this into a habit.Once it is a habit and placed in the heart. Thankfulness will come out naturally in both good and bad situations. Express your thanks. Make it a practice to send small thank you notes or cards to people who have done you a good deed (or even to people who have not) When you do this, you learn to look for the good in people and are able to appreciate them more. Look at the bright side of life. Do you live in the a house that lacks space and furniture and is overdue for certain repairs? Then, thank God because you still have a shelter from the rain.Do you have a face "only a mother can love"?Thank God you have a mother who loves you.
