Hello everyone! The photo was taken by me in August 2017. It seems to me that the view of the Griboedov Canal and the Church of the Savior on Blood is one of the most beautiful city species not only in St. Petersburg, but also in the world. This cathedral in the Russian style was built in the early XX century in memory of Tsar Alexander II, mortally wounded in this place. After the revolution, the organizers and perpetrators of the assassination became the heroes, began the struggle against religion and the church were going to be demolished. But it was not realized. The temple survived during the Great Patriotic War. As it turned out already after, it can be considered a miracle. In 1961 an unexploded German high-explosive bomb was found in the central dome. Now the cathedral is considered an architectural monument and is protected by the state. * Всем привет! Фотография сделана мной в августе 2017г. Мне кажется, вид на канал Грибоедова и храм Спаса на Крови – один из самых красивых городских видов не только в Санкт-Петербурге, но и в мире. Этот собор в русском стиле был построен в начале XX века в память о царе Александре II, смертельно раненом на этом месте. После революции героями стали организаторы и исполнители покушения, развернулась борьба с религией и храм собирались снести. Но до исполнения дело не дошло. Уцелел храм и во время Великой отечественной войны. Как выяснилось уже после, это можно считать чудом. В 1961 году в центральном куполе была найдена неразорвавшаяся немецкая фугасная бомба. Сейчас собор считается памятником архитектуры и охраняется государством.
