Hello everyone! This figure crowning the spire of the new Town Hall of Munich. The new town hall is the very beautiful building in the Neo-Gothic style, built in the late 19th century. The tower of the Town Hall is quite high - 85 meters. From below, from the square the spire is barely visible. Therefore, when I got the camera with 35X zoom, I photographed the top of the tower of the town hall. The monk with the book from the coat of arms of Munich to the middle of the XIX century for some reason transformed into a child. The figurine on the spire is called the "Munich baby" (Münchner Kindl). He spread his arms, in the left holding the Gospel, and the right one blesses the city. Photo taken in May 2012. * Всем привет! Эта фигура, венчающая шпиль новой ратуши Мюнхена. Новая ратуша – красивейшее здание в неоготическом стиле, построенное в конце XIX века. Башня ратуши довольно высокая – 85 метров. Снизу шпиль её едва видно. Поэтому, когда у меня в руках оказался фотоаппарат с 35X зумом, я приблизила макушку башни ратуши. Монах с книгой с герба Мюнхена к середине XIX века почему-то преобразовался в ребёнка. Фигурку на шпиле так и называют «мюнхенский младенец». Он расставил руки, в левой держит Евангелие, а правой благословляет город. Фотография сделана в мае 2012.
