Hello everyone! A short-tailed or short-tailed skink (Tiliqua rugosa) is an inhabitant of Australia. I photographed it in 2014 at the Budapest Zoo. I've never seen such strange lizards before. Their short tail, they are very careful and unlike other species do not discard it. In the tail of the short-tailed, nutrients accumulate, helping them to survive winter hibernation. * Всем привет! Свой короткий хвост они очень берегут и в отличие от других видов не отбрасывают его. В хвосте у короткохвостов накапливаются питательные вещества, помогающие им перенести зимнюю спячку.

This one looks like a little sleeping crocodile. Honestly, I dont like crawling animals before but they are part of the ecosystem.
