That's because of the impact that your attitude and mentality have on all that we come across. Our social interactions, our jobs and even our wellbeing are an important part of our everyday life and we can feel how negative and optimistic feelings can have a domino effect on what we do during the day. The way we choose to think, whether positive or negative, has a significant impact on the end result and is reflected in everything we do. That is why it is important to have a positive perspective on life. Optimism does not have a better alternative. Pessimism does not accomplish much, and has no advantages over optimism. Optimism helps us see new possibilities, learn and keep learning from various circumstances. El Nido, Palawan Palawan is the Philippines crown jewel and El Nido is probably Palawan's most impressive location. With its stunning, massive calcareous cliffs, beautiful lagoons and pristine beaches it is truly a paradise on earth. What makes El Nido even more attractive is that it can be done for a backpacker on a very small budget, or you can enjoy luxurious hotels. The island-hopping tours, the main aspect of an El Nido experience, are either way $15-$20 a day regardless of your budget. El Nido 's town itself has a simple charm with reggae bars, beach restaurants, and a low-key feel. I had been in El Nido and stayed for at least 7 days during my travels, which was a wonderful time to explore on land and at sea! I did all the island hopping tours and visited many of the beaches and land hikes. I'll share many of the cool things to do in El Nido on my next blog post. The Truman Show Back in 1998, ‘The Truman Show’ shocked the public with how funny, heartfelt, and thought-provoking it is. The audience loved it, critics loved it, and it today it remains an endless classic. And this is true. 'The Truman Show' is a masterpiece, in all accounts. Built on a brilliant premise, with great direction, flawless editing and cinematography, and Jim Carrey's outstanding performance, 'The Truman Show' does not have many imperfections in fact. It checks the boxes all over. A good film has to do three things with its plot in an ideal world: it has to be open, understandable and interesting to the stereotypical audience, it has to have a powerful and defined character to stand in the center of it, and it has to be layers. Most good movies suit one of those criteria, some suit two, but it is very rare that the writing of a movie is so good it suits all three. 'The Demonstration in Truman' does. And it is that last point, the layering, which to this day has people rewatching and talking about the movie. ‘The Truman Show’ is filled with thought-provoking ideas, meanings, metaphors, Easter eggs, themes, and motifs. What follows is a guide to a better understanding of those things within ‘The Truman Show’. The Matrix A classic Science Fiction groundbreaking, exciting, visually stunning, philosophical. As we follow Neo's path (anagram for One as in 'the one') from a computer programmer at a respectable tech company (he is also a hacker in his spare time and uses Neo's alias) he is discovered by both machine control system agents but also by free people from this control and is first contacted by Morpheus who becomes Neo's mentor and introduces him to The Matrix. From the beginning to the end, you are taken on what seems like a true journey that involves lots of action and amazing special effects that at the time were ground breaking and then fresh and replicated, but never quite matched. It has bags of style and coolness and uses a green tint when the actors are in the matrix and blue tint when they are in the real world. So what is the matrix?  The matrix is a virtual reality created by advanced intelligent machines to keep humanity in control whilst using them for energy to power themselves. This all occurred after man created AI and lost a war with them. It took me a very long time to understand the matrix as I thought it was very complicated and full of philosophical ideas which it is but essentially the story is very simple to grasp a so explained above.  It’s such a cooly executed piece of sci fi cinema by the Wachowskis who directed and wrote it.  If I remember right, for many years I haven't really liked it that much, but back then I was pretty young.
