Fugu: A Dare Devil Food Experience

People loves to eat different varieties of food. Some loves just plain and simple dish while others wants twist making their dish an extra special one. While some other people loves adventure too in their foods. Yes! mostly adventurous people loves to eat **exotic foods**. Eating unusual foods or we must say foods that are not what you find in most dishes. *I've watched a lot of videos and read blogs about exotic foods before and there's this one that catches my interest.* The video shows how to cook and prepare one of the most poisonous fish in the world, the **puffer fish.**

**Who have thought this fish can be cook and be eaten? 🤔** In Japan, puffer fish or **Fugu** (japanese term for the fish) is considered one of their highly expensive dish and delicacy. Fugu is illegal in some countries but not in Japan, in fact theres almost 3,800 Fugu restaurants located in their country. As what I've seen in the video, before they prepare the fugu dish, they'll look first for fresh torafugu (a specific kind of fugu) in an exclusive market and then bids for the prize. There are more 100 types of fugus in the world and each one of it is highly poisonous but torafugu is what most Japanese chefs recommend.

In order to prepare and sell this poisonous fish, chefs must be highly trained. To be exact, chefs must be atleast 20 years old, and must train tirelessly between 4 to 6 years. In some Japanese restaurants, usually fugus are eaten raw as **sashimi**, cut into very thin slices and commonly plated as a flower.

When served as sashimi, customers feedbacks about fugu is *delicate, gelatinous, delicious in taste, flavourful and it doesn’t smell “fishy”.* But even prepared in restaurants, according to government figures in Japan, 30-50 people were hospitalized and some died every year due too Fugu poisoning. Most of them tried to ate fugus being prepared at home. ***It is definitely the type of delicacy that dare devil people travel to try. Whoever tries to eat such delicacy must have been an adventurous one.***
