One time, I was invited to this town located in the north of my state (Perak, Malaysia). The name of the town is Selama. You can see from the sign board that there are two towns nearby with the same name but they are in neighboring states, as though there are no other names to use. I was invited by a government official to promote the town and to help develop its tourism sector. Unfortunately, on the day of my arrival, there was an emergency at his home and he had to take leave off work, but he assigned a subordinate to take care of my needs. During our tour, I was grilled by this subordinate, asking me if I have visited Selama before, and if I had been to the entire state, I should also have visited her town. Argh, no doubt I have traveled to a lot of places, but the way my mind works, once my assignment is handed in, I wipe it off from my mind to make way for new tasks. That's how I cope. So, I was thinking hard and said, well, maybe not Selama. Later in the day, she took me to a cafe for a break, and it was only then that I realized that I had actually been to Selama before, because I had been to the cafe once. But it wasn't for the purpose of tourism. I tagged along my boss who went there to make a cash donation to one of the schools. And I have forgotten about the trip. 🤔 #throwback
