๐•ญ๐–Ž๐–—๐–ˆ๐– ๐•ธ๐–Š๐–’๐–”๐–—๐–Ž๐–†๐–‘ ๐•ฎ๐–‘๐–”๐–ˆ๐– ๐•ฟ๐–”๐–œ๐–Š๐–— One of the most significant "monuments" in my home city of Ipoh in Malaysia, is the Birch Memorial Clock Tower at the Oldtown section. It was constructed to commemorate the first British Resident of Perak state, James W. W. Birch, who was assassinated on 2nd November, 1875. He was in office as Perak Resident from 4th November, 1874 until his murder. Unveiled in 1909, this clock tower is already 112 years old. Visitors who take a walking tour of Ipoh Oldtown will be taken to view the clock tower, and see for themselves the four panels around the tower that illustrate the growth of civilisation. #Travel
