I visited 𝑱𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒏 back in Summer 2017 and spent about five days in Amman and other cities. What stood out for me was that almost 99% of the buildings in the places that I visited are of the same colour – light brown / cream. The houses here are built with limestone and not painted over. Apparently, the limestone helps to keep the interior of the building cool during summer months, and warm during the cold winter. Every few years, the exterior needs only to be washed with water and the building looks spanking new again. I think, if I lived in Jordan, I wouldn’t recognise my own house! Also, Jordan is so dusty, the vehicles there are covered in a thick layer of dust. I asked a local, how long had it been since he washed his car. He said 1 week ago. My, the amount of dust is equivalent to a car in Malaysia sitting by the roadside unused for FIVE years or more! That's because we have regular rain to wash away the dirt. Hahaha!!
