𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒓 This is a young Malayan Tapir whom I met at the Wildlife Conservation Centre in Sungai Dusun, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. This centre is not open to the public, except for educational groups.  Did you know that the Malayan Tapir is a fully protected animal in the country? Also, despite their size, similar to the hippopotamus, they are herbivores and only feed on vegetation such as leaves and twigs. At this centre, to supplement their diet, fruits are included in their meals, scheduled for twice a day.  So, how much does a Malayan Tapir eat per meal? Based on its physical conditional and health, the quantity is at least 10% of the animal's body weight.  #FactsAboutAnimals
