𝐈𝐩𝐨𝐡 is not only known for its white coffee, it is also popular with its street murals. This is thanks to the work of Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic, who after bringing attention to himself by putting life to Penang Island through his unique art, was engaged to paint a series of wall murals in Ipoh. Inspired by Ernest, Ipoh art teacher Eric Lai embarked on a similar project, concentrating on the dirty back lanes of Ipoh, in an on-going project since 2013. Here are a few of Eric's paintings, of local life. Though distinctively different from Ernest's style, they are also a welcome sight to locals and tourists alike.  Here's a short explanation of the wall murals: Image 1: Pottery-making scene - Ipoh is a producer of clay pots that are even exported overseas. Image 2: Bubble blowing - This is a reminder of the game of bubble blowing that we as children used to play. Image 3: Dulang washers - Ipoh is in Kinta Valley, one of the world's top tin mining producers, so there were many tin mines. Women would pan for tin using their "dulang", hence they are known as "dulang washers". #Ipoh
