Extreme ironing - silly sport
Have you ever heard about some weird sports such as extreme ironing or competitive Eating?Believe or not these sports do exist and every year have more contestants . It is believed that sports must combine physical activity and competition. If we use this definition, then ***extreme ironing*** is a sport. For now it is popular in Japan, Australia and Germany .. https://youtu.be/njHE4S-HD3I **Extreme ironing** is pressing clothes in very difficult places. Ironists must carry their irons, ironing boards, and wrinkled laundry with them to the competition site. Some ironists take electric generators. Others heat their irons on gas stoves. The competitors get more points for the difficulty of the location. Location can be mountain, ocean,sea, top of the building...However, the quality of the ironing is important, too. Each item must be well pressed. Extreme ironists compete in some amazing places. Contestants iron while they are climbing rocks, climbing mountains, and climbing trees. They iron in canoes, and even underwater. One team ironed while on a kayak in the Atlantic Ocean. One cannot believe that something similar exists.
This sport seems to be a joke but it is not Teams from 30 countries competed in the first world championships in Germany in 2002.
***Phil Shaw*** is the inventor and creator of extreme ironing. He says that there are about 1,500 ironists worldwide. Some teams have corporate sponsors. The German corporation Rowenta, an iron maker, pays for Shaw's team. The goal of extreme ironists is to have their sport included in the Olympics. Maybe then they can start using their real names. At the moment, contestants use names such as Steam, Cool Silk, and Iron Man. Why? Shaw admits, There are some simple rules .The board must be 1-meter long and 30 centimeters wide and the board must have legs. First time I heard about this! Incredible! The funniest is to me is ironing under the water :) I am calling these sportists to iron my laundry, I have a lot of that here :)
Haha, you sre right. They can help us ironing our clothes too, in order to practise for the competition. Ironing under water us unbelievable too.
Look at wow How interesting and very different style these people are working with so much skill but I find ironing very difficult, even I sit comfortably.

This underwater ironing is the top, as well as when parachuting, otherwise this is extreme.
It is extreme and dangerous in the same time, but interesting for watching.
