Good evening dear friends! Today I wrote about the Avala tower, so now I want to share with you ten interesting things about the tower: 1. The construction of the old tower, which was made on the basis of the project of architects Uglješa Bogunović and Slobodan Janjić, began in 1961 and was completed in 1964. The tower was opened to visitors a year later. 2. The old Aval Tower was destroyed by NATO missiles in the aggression against Serbia and Montenegro on April 29, 1999 at 10.40 pm. 3. Today's tower on Avala was built from 2006 to 2009, and was officially opened on April 21, 2010. It faithfully reflects the architectural form, engineering construction and originality of the original tower, except that it is 2 m higher than the old one (it is exactly 204.68 m). 4. The three legs of the tower symbolize the Serbian tripod (a type of antique wooden chair). 5. The legs of the tower are 17.10 m high, and they are buried 8.20 m below the plateau and immersed in the shafts of ancient mines. They are connected by a reinforced concrete slab, at a height of 19.1 m, from where the tower tree begins. 6. The Avala tower was not built on the top of Avala, whose height is 511 m, but somewhat lower, at a height of 439 m. 7. If there are strong gusts of wind (over 13 meters per second), the tower is temporarily closed to visitors. 8. The tower gondola has seven levels, two of which are intended for tourists, and the others are intended for technical devices. 9. At a height of 122, 64 m there is a terrace with a lookout. Only 3 m below the lookout, at 119.20 m, there is a cafe-bar. 10. Visitors are transported to the lookout and bar in less than 40 seconds, using two elevators, with a capacity of 850 kg (11 people), at a speed of 3 m / s, without trembling. 10. Do vidikovca i bara posetioci se prevoze nepunih 40 sekundi, pomoću dva lifta, kapaciteta po 850 kg (11 osoba), brzinom 3 m/s, bez drhtaja.
