Ovo je jedna velika gljiva trud koju sam uslikao na jednom sasušenom stablu na obali Dunava. Raste na uginulim ili slabim živim stablima drveća, posebno se često sreće na bukvama. Telo joj je u obliku konjskog kopita sa svetlosivim stablom i tvrdom korom. Veoma je slepljeno za stablo drveta i teško ju je ukloniti. Naraste do 50 cm u širinu i debljine do 25 cm. Gornja površina je koncetrično talasasta, pokrivena tvrdom korom do 2 mm, braonkaste boje. Trud se koristi u pčelarstvu (za umirivanje pčela) kao i za potpaljivanje vatre.
