The path to the CEO's office should not be through the CFO's office, and it should not be through the marketing department. I needs to be through engineering and design. Mars is the only place in the solar system where it's possible for life to become multi-planetarian. There have to be reasons that you wake up in the morning and you want to live. Why do you want to live? What's the point? What inspires you? What do you love about the future? If the future does not include being out there among the stars and being a multi-planet species, I find the incredibly depressing. My motivation for all my companies has been to be involved in something that I thought would have a significant impact in the world. People work better when they know the goal is and why. It is important that people look forward to coming to work in the morning and enjoy working. I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary. Government isn't that good at rapid advancement of technology. It tends to be better at funding basic research. To have things take off, you've got to have commercial companies do it. We could definitely make a flying car, but that's not the hard part. The hard part is, how do you make a flying car that's super safe and quiet? Because if it's a howler, you're going to make people very unhappy. There are some important differences between me and Tony Stark, like I have 5 kids, so I spend more time going to Disneyland than parties. In order for us to have a future that's exciting and inspiring, it has to be one where we're a space-bearing civilization. She's now 18! Today is my daughter @Crizaah's 18th birthday! Unlike any other 18th birthday, we did not have a party for her. She doesn't want to have a party because she understands the situation we have right now. All she want is for us to have dinner outside. But without her knowing, her friends is planning to surprise her on her birthday. They told me that they are going to surprise Crizha, and they needed my help. And today, here they are! And who stole his idea?** Nikola Tesla is one of the most influential inventors in the history. Without Tesla, there would be no electricity. Yet very few know about him. That is only because of one man, Thomas Edison. So what did Thomas Edison do to Nikola Tesla? This is the story of the rivalry between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison. Nikola Tesla's career began in 1884. Tesla has just arrived in the United States. He had just 4 cents in his pocket and a bundle of clothing. He was looking for a job. So he went to see Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison was one of the most famous inventors in the world at that time. Thomas gave Nikola a job. It was the golden age of America, with an increasing economy. But as soon as the sun sets down, the cities went quiet because there was no electricity. Thomas Edison had first invented the first commercially available electrical lightbulb. But there were no systems to deliver electricity to the masses. **Edison wanted to use DC power(direct current).** He proposed to distribute this current to every house in America. The basic idea was to build a powerplant in every block or two, but there was one problem. Edison's DC power generators were very fragile. They were prone to breakdown. Edison failed to find any solution. So one day, Edison took the problem to Tesla and told him that, *If you can solve this problem, I'll give you $50,000-Thomas Edison* Tesla accepted the challenge and worked for months. Finally, Tesla succeeded and showed Edison the solution. When he asked for the $50,000 reward, Edison denied him. Edison said that he was being sarcastic at that time. Tesla neither got the money nor the credit for his work. Hence, Tesla quit his job. After quitting, Tesla started working in his own projects. Soon, he came up with an alternative and better idea to distribute electricity. **His idea was AC power(alternating current)**. Edison's DC power could travel in a single direction only. DC power plants could only distribute electricity within a short-range. Tesla's AC power could periodically change its direction. And it was possible for AC powerplants to distribute energy anywhere without limitationof distance. But Tesla's idea was considered impossible by many inventors. Until one day, a wealthy inventor named **George Westinghouse was ready to invest in Tesla's idea.** That's how the war of the currents began. The war between Edison's DC power and Tesla's AC power. In the end, Tesla won the race. **His AC power made its debut in the 1893 Chicago World Fair.** The fair was full of lights and it was the start of a new era. The wkrld had never witnessed anything like that. There were lights everywhere and it was Tesla's AC power which had made it possible. Edison had already lost the war but he did not accept the defeat. He tried to take down Tesla in a dirty way. He distributed pamphlets all around the USA warning the people about the dangers of AC power. But Edison's dirty game failed. Westinghouse and Tesla was already on their way to light America. Tesla's plan was to use the Niagra falls to create electricity and deliver it to New York. In 1895, Tesla and Westington plant opened and started distributing power. Morse Code In this article, we will be talking about **Morse code. What is it and how is it use?** But First of all, let us talk about how messages were sent in the past. I am talking about way, way back. Before we had text messages, before we had cellphones, before we had internet, or even a phone in the house. The only way to communicate with each other was by sending a **physical letter.** This could often take a very long time. **How did this change?** When the **telegraph was invented in 1837,** this allowed people to send electronic messages to each other over great distances, for the first time. So what exactly is a **telegraph**? Some of you might have heard it before, like me, and some might have heard it for the first time. **How does a telegraph work?** A telegraph is a a machine that is **used to transfer messages through long cables, using electricity**. People would press down the compass needle onto a grid and messages would travel through the wires and come out in another l0cation as a message. **So who invented Morse code**? Morse code was **invented in 1838**, so long ago, by man called **Samuel Finley Breese Morse.** He invented Morse code as a simple way to use the telegraph system. He invented a new code called "Morse code" which is like a new language. What did Morse code sound like? We know that each letter had a different pattern of sounds of dots and dashes after it. So if you wanted to write a word or a whole sentence, it sound maybe a little bit of like a song. It is an alphabet that has been invented to simplify communication and create letters using only dots, dashes and spaces. If you look at the picture above, its got all the letters of the alphabet. You can also see black lines or black dots next to it. All of the black lines and black dots is what the people would be doing when they're pressing the button down to make the Morse code. If it's just a little dot then press it short, and if it's a longer one, they would hold down the button so it would make the short or the longest sounds. But **what is Morse code actually used for**? Well **Morse code was, and still is, used for a lot during war and combat as it is a quick way to get messages across the country. The most famous word used in Morse code is S.O.S which means Save our Souls**. This is a distress message for anyone who is in danger. Learned something new? This is actually new to me, I got this idea from my daughter. And I really learned a lot about Morse code while doing this article. Random Article Good morning!! How was your new year's eve? Did you light firecrackers? As for us, we did not light any. We just make a noise out of cooking pots and coins from our pockets. We also make a noise with our motorcycle horn. Many of our neighbors lighted firecrackers and fireworks although it was raining. Then most of them went outside to greet one another, while we were just inside comforting our furbabies because they were so terrified from the noise of firecrackers. After we had our media noche, my husband went outside to have a drink with his friends, while me and my daughter went to our room to rest. But we ended up watching korean dramas and sleep 3am. Strange Places on Earth Dongguan **Dongguan is a city in China** that stands out for the reason that there are far more women here than men. In this city, it has become normal for one man to date several women at once! In fact, women are also said to encourage such behavior. Often, men in the city date as many as 3 to 4 women at the same time. A lot of women come to Dongguan to work, which is why there are so many of them. According to a man, ***"It is a lot easier here to find a girlfriend than a job"*** Bengkala Bengkala is an unusual town in Bali, Indonesia, where people speak a very unique language. **"Kata Kolok"**, literally meaning **"Deaf talk**" in Indonesian, is a unique sign language that is the primary means of communication of the 44 inhabitants of Bengkala. For about 6 generations, an unusually large proportion of the town's population **has been born deaf!** Th locals attribute it to an ancient curse, but scientists have attributed it to a recessive gene among the community which has been passed on from generation to generation. The Baby Box In South Korea, there is a Pastor who built a box in a wall to save babies from death. We're not talking about 1 or 5 or 10 babies, but thousand of babies! Seven Mysterious Places That Scientist Can't Explain Fairy Circles, Namibia The fairy circles is a field of grass in the Namib Dessert in the Western parts of South Africa, frequently interrupted by circular barren patches where nothing will grow. Effect of Freewriting Good morning!!! Start my day with a cup of coffee and a bunch of bread. It is a cold morning here in Capiz. I am wearing a jacket while having my breakfast. I was thinking of what to write in my next article. Its been two days since I wrote one. I still have a Christmas hangover, and I am mentally blocked. Yesterday, I had my longest siesta ever. It was the first time for me to had a 3 hours of siesta since a became a wife and a mom, and it feels great. It felt like I was fully charged and ready for my duties, hahaha! And now, it is raining again. I hope it will stop because we were using solar energy as means of electricity. We've been using it for over 3 years now. So we never had blackouts and we don't have to pay for electric bills. I'll give you a quick fact about solar power. What is solar power? **Solar power** is usable energy **generated from the sun in the form electric and thermal energy.** This is best in our country because we live in a tropic country,meaning the sun is always shining upon us, lol! Solar energy is captured in a variety of ways, the most common of which is with **photovoltaic solar panel**s that convert the sun's rays into usable electricity. Although solar power or energy is a bit pricey at first, you can have great returns after by not paying electric bills, and the conveniency of not having blackouts is the best. How's Your Christmas? Merry Christmas Everyone!!! I hope you all have the merriest Christmas regardless of the situation we are all in(Covid19 pandemic). Well, how did you celebrate your Christmas eve? If you will ask me, I just prepared simple dish. Then after dinner ,we had movie marathon in Netflix. We just waited until midnight. Then i called my mother and sisters who are in Manila. I became emotional as I spoke to them, I just miss them so much. Hopefully, next year when this pandemic ends, we'll spend Christmas with them. Philippine Identification System ID The other day, as I was resting in our front yard after doing my morning chores, a friend of mine who works in our barangay told me to go to barangay hall because there will be pre-registration for the National ID. So to avoid the hassle of a very long line, I immediately went there. Good thing there were few people who's already there and I was third in line. When my turn came, the person in charge asked me for a valid id so I handed her my Voter's Id. Then after that, he asked me the following, Age Birthday Birthplace Blood type Contact # After that, she took a picture of me while I am holding my valid id. And then, she gave me a piece of paper, which I found out that it's an appointment slip for biometrics. It was indicated there, the time and date for my biometrics, and stamp for verification i guess. She told me to bring my valid id, the appointment slip, and my birth certificate on the date indicated on the paper. Let me give you a quick fact about the Philippine Identification System ID (PhilSys ID). **Philippine Identification System ID(PhilSys ID)** is the official **national identity card** for Filipino citizens worldwide and foreign permanent residents in the Philippines. It was first proposed as early as the 1990s during the administration of former President Fidel V. Ramos. Despite the previous efforts to legislate the system has failed due to concerns in privacy and lack of support from the Congress. Then in August 6, 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the "Philippine Identification System Act" (Republic Act No. 11055) , the legistlation which seek to implement the system. Its pilot implementation was on 2019 in selected regions and full implementation was on the fourth quarter of 2020. I'm glad that it already started because there is no need for other valid ID's everytime you make transaction in a bank or claiming your money in a remittance centers. What is the Most Important Life Lesson You've Learned so far? At the age of 40, I can say that I have been through a lot of worst experiences in life. I've been knocked down so many times. I have done so many mistakes, met different kinds of people. Some I have met online and became my real life friends. Because of that, I have learned so many lessons in life, some I've learned the hard way. **Happiness**. It does not come from money, material things, and relationship. No matter how rich you are, you canot find true happiness. Money can't buy happiness. And being in a relationship does not gurantee happiness as well. Because happiness comes from within ourself. We should not rely our happiness to other people. **Health**. As you age, you realize how important health is to take care of at an early age. I have abused myself when I was younger. I always sleep late, eat whatever I want, don't exercise, and there comes a point that I even smoke. It took a while before I quit smoking. Now, I suffered the consequences of my actions, I've suffered from COPD which is very hard and costly to cure. I always carry around my inhaler wherever I go. So please, take good care of your health while you're still young. **Love**. True love is really hard to find. Most won't experience true love. And here's the worst part, the one you love the most will hurt you the most. That is so true, I can attest to that. **Caring what other people think**. This is a big no. You cannot achieve anything in life if you will always consider what other people think of you. Do whatever makes you happy. Do whatever you think that will suffice your hunger for happiness in life. It's your life anyway. If other people judge you, it has everything to do with them, not you. What matters is what "you think of yourself. " **Saving money**. Start early. If you can and you have the means to save money at an early age, do it! **Toxic people**. Not all people who smile at you likes you. Most of them stab you in the back when you are not with them. When you see the red flags, remove that person to your life. **People rarely change**. People will lie, cheat and do mistakes at you, and promises to change? Odds are they won't. Lying and cheating aren't mistakes, they are choices and selfish at that. **Simplicity**. Keep life simple. Don't sweat the small stuff with excessive worry. Music is Life Music plays an important role in our life. It is a form of expression. It has no boundaries, and it follow no guidelines. Essentially, to me, music is like air. It has no true shape or definition, yet we need it in our life. Imagine a world without music. **Music is life itself.** Let me tell you something, whether you realize or not, every single thing around us is music. Even the nature itself is music. It is the most beautiful music in the world. It brings peace in heart and in mind. Its harmonize music makes me keep my mind at ease. Whenever I am upset, feeling down or facing a big problem in life, music helps me relax. The more we explore about music, just then we realize that it is not only all about rhythm, melody or harmony. In the different angle of music is also a tool for learning, therapy and teaching because it can adjust our moods, and used throughout our lives. While growing up without my parents beside me, music is one of the things that make me go on with life. There are particular songs that played a big role in my life. Let me share them one by one.
