"Stack, Stock or Stuck"
What's the difference of this words other than their spelling? Hello guys!! Let me tell you the difference of "stack, stock and stuck. These 3 words have almost the same pronunciation so most of us, including me had been using these words incorrectly. Let's start with STACK with an A. Stack means a pile of object, typically one that is neatly arranged. So if we say a "stack of boxes" it means a pile of boxes neatly arranged. The picture below shows a stack of boxes.
Next word is STOCK with an O. Stock means goods or merchandise kept in a warehouse or in a storage room. Example of this are stock of foods, stock of medicines, stock of woods. So we can use this in a sentence as "I have enough stock of foods in the pantry for the next winter. "
Last but not the least is the word STUCK with a U. Stuck means being trapped in something. Just remember the word trapped so you will not be confused with stuck. For example "stuck in a mud" stuck in traffic. So we can use this as "I have been stuck in the traffic for 2 hours,"
