Yah!!!!! Jeuggulle!!???
I don't know how it is spelled but when I get pissed off because of someone I accidentally mumbled this because I often hear it in different kdramas. Most korean words and phrases that I know is because I heard it in movies and series. I didn't make effort in learning this language because I am more into Japanese language. The korean culture have been spread in different parts of the world, my country is one of those which was influenced by the korean culture. From kdramas, solo artists, kpop groups, make ups, fashion, and a lot more, people tend to adapt this things and live the way korean ppl do. I personally believe that it's not a problem, loving someone's tradition is a personal choice and preference. Loving someone's way of living doesn't mean that you're abandoning your own. However, we cannot deny the fact that there are some people out there who are annoying for being drunk with the culture leading to toxic mindset. As long as it's not too much, I think adoring their culture is okay.
I think that people will always have this burning love for their own country not because they are told to do so but because it's a fact that our norms are part of our identity. Whatever development or changes our homeland encounters, we are part of it.
From the rise of social media, we can see how modernized and rich Korea is, or should I say South Korea to be exact. People always seem to connect the words "dangerous" and "traditional" to the upper side of the country- North Korea. With all the negative perception in this country, there are also few misconceptions that I want to share with everyone. It is true that Noth Koreans are not allowed to leave the country whenever and for whatever reasons they pleased. Also unlike other countries, North Korea is not open for numerous technologies.
There are a lot of things that are prohibited. Like fashion and other products. On the other hand, the first misconception I want to share is that "North Korea is not open for tourist and you'll die if you enter their vicinity". If you want to visit North Korea, you have to present various legal papers (this is true to all countries). This country is open for tourists but only within the allowed tourists spots and strictly with the aid of Korean guides. The country can be considered as strict one but visiting this country doesn't mean you're welcoming your death. As long as you strictly follow their rules then all is well.
Another fact is, North Koreans are allowed to watch films (only those allowed by the government tho). They often watch Hollywood films but South Korean films are prohibited. Further, this country do not seclude themselves entirely from the world as North Korea is one of the leading countries that export seafoods. The citizens don't pay taxes but it is believe that this may change sooner or later.
However, it is true that this country has a lot of "not allowed stuffs" than "allowed" things.
There are tons of mind-blowing facts about this country that will make you think that it's hard to live in here and that people are not happy at all. The thing is, who knows, maybe no matter how hard their life is there and even they are strictly controlled by the government they are still happy living a simple life away from the noises of the world.
If you want a different experience, why not visit that country up in the North? Who knows you'll also find Captain Ri of your own😌😄
Each of us have our own definition of happiness and how we feel happy. So yeah, What we may know about North Korea is true or not but they can find happiness somehow.
