Ethereum and the path of centralization *From* *Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/es/vectors/logotipo-de-ethereum-6278329/ There is no doubt, Ethereum was the first blockchain to allow smart contracts. In innovation, it can be said that it was the second great milestone of cryptocurrencies after the creation of Bitcoin in 2009. https://ecency.com/@@leoglossary/blockchain https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-smart-contract Personally, I'm not a big fan of Ethereum and the path of centralization that this system and its cryptocurrency are taking, but you have to recognize the merit of each one and Ethereum was a pioneer. Today I plan to tell you a little more about this network and the problems it is currently facing and possible consequences. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-centralization If you are interested in learning about Ethereum and the path of centralization it is taking, I invite you to read this article carefully. We already started! Ethereum It can be said that Ethereum marked the beginning of Web 3.0 by allowing decentralized applications to be created on its blockchain. This marked a new era in terms of the possibilities of cryptocurrencies and online interaction. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0 https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralization The idea for this system came in 2013 from Vitalik Buterin, a Russian-Canadian developer. In 2015, after having raised funds for its development and carrying out a pre-sale of tokens, Ethereum was finally launched. In this process, 72 million ETH were awarded and distributed to the people who financed the initial project. These initial coins represent about 60% of the total coins in the system today (June 6, 2023). From the beginning, this constituted one of the main criticisms due to the centralization that it implied and from which it has not yet come off as we will see later. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-eth The goal of Ethereum was to create a decentralized platform that would allow developers to take advantage of Smart Contract technology to develop decentralized applications. One of the peculiar characteristics of this system is that it allows you to carry out transactions with permission and without permission: **No permission:** any computer on the Ethereum network can confirm the transaction. **Authorized:** are reviewed only by a certain group of computers, so it is not necessary to be exposed to all computers as long as you follow the established protocols. Although Ethereum has its own cryptocurrency (ETH), its stated goal has been to become the world's computer on which users can create freely and in a decentralized way. However, this vision of decentralization contrasts with several realities that the network lives. Ethereum controversies *From* *Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/es/photos/eth-ethereum-criptomoneda-moneda-6851390/ Well, from its creator to the way decisions are made, in Ethereum, everything has gone through a controversy or scandal that makes us doubt the true decentralization and immutability. I will start by telling you that for this blockchain, protocol changes do not lead to an on-chain decision-making process. It is the Ethereum Core Dev (who actively contributes to the development of the Ethereum protocol and clients) who decide whether an Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) is applied or not. Of course, anyone can submit an EIP on Ethereum's Github, but it is the author's responsibility to achieve consensus within the community and document opinions and alternative options. However, there is a great technical barrier to correctly formulating a proposal, so most of those who present them are usually developers. https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs Disagreements are settled in discussions in public forums seeking to reach a consensus and allowing anyone to contribute ideas. As a rule, one of the defenders of one of the different points of view capitulates or an intermediate point is reached. If this does not happen, it may be the case of an unplanned hard fork. Well yes, hard forks can be "planned" or "unplanned". In fact, the Ethereum network may hold the record for the most planned forks of the entire crypto universe, and the ones that missing. Since 2016 they have carried out a minimum of 8, their objective has been from adapting the system to manage new needs to introducing security protocols, streamlining the mining process (when they were still a PoW system), or changing the protocol from PoW to PoS. https://ecency.com/posts/@crypto-guides/what-is-ethereum-eth As you can see, the governance of Ethereum has its flaws, it is not the general users who decide. In theory, those who participate in the network could do it with their nodes. However, considering that currently 46.15% of Ethereum validator nodes are controlled by only 2 addresses, for individual participants to refuse to update the ETH client could put them out of the game. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-nodes Unplanned Ethereum Hard Forks Unplanned forks can be the result of updates that some feel should not be running. There are two big unplanned hard forks in Ethereum. Ethereum Classic This division arose as a result of an unfortunate situation that occurred in 2016 (barely 1 year after ETH was created). This year, $50 million dollars equivalent in ETH was stolen from the Distributed Autonomous Organization (DAO) using a loophole in its code. This situation opened a breach in the very concept of Blockchain and its principles of immutability. On the one hand, those who argued that the Blockchain must respond to the principle and interests of the community and that it is the majority of the community that decides the possible evolutions and characteristics that it must have were positioned. And that, based on this principle, if the majority of the community wishes, the Blockchain can be modified. Others positioned themselves with the idea that the Blockchain must not be modified and must be protected without exception from any form of manipulation. The decision was voted on by the Ethereum community, where anyone holding ETH was able to vote with a transaction. The decision to fork to recover the funds got more than 85% of the valid votes. However, this decision is debatable for several reasons related to the weight of the vote made: Turnout was extremely low. A large part of Ethereum holders did not know that the vote took place. Therefore, when a new blockchain was created with this theft issue resolved, many chose to continue operating on the original version of the Blockchain, resulting from this process two new networks and currencies. **Ethereum Classic (ETC):** is based on the original protocol and is led by a collective that tries to stay true to the original version. **Ethereum (ETH):** supervised and promoted by the Ethereum Foundation leads the development of the platform. Ethereum PoW With the change scheduled by the Ethereum network of the system from *Proof of Work (PoW)* to *Proof of Stake (PoS)* a group of miners successfully forked to keep the blockchain running with the consensus algorithm of Ethereum as it was. This gave birth to a new network and cryptocurrency Ethereum Proof of Work (ETHW). https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-proof-of-work-pow https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-proof-of-stake-pos https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-consensus They position themselves as *"the original Ethereum Proof of Work, developed and run by the community"*. However, if we are rigorous, the original would be Ethereum Classic. The reality is that ETHW is not doing well today as almost all the miners migrated to ETC. Although it is less than a year old, it does not seem to consolidate. ETH could not be said to have turned out entirely well either, because, despite the fact that it continued to receive the support of almost all of its community in the move to PoS, it is facing problems of excessive centralization. As I mentioned before, only two addresses control almost 50% of the validator nodes, but also only 5 centralized entities control 60% of staked ETH. https://es.cointelegraph.com/news/64-of-staked-eth-controlled-by-five-entities-nansen Undoubtedly, PoS leads to the centralization of Ethereum, favoring those who have a greater number of tokens. In the case of Ethereum to become a node validator it is necessary to block 32 ETH, a high amount for most users. And the PoS system is already taking its toll since the number of validator nodes that comply with the regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States of America (OFAC Compliance) is currently 72% and continues to increase. This means that these nodes block transactions that do not comply with OFAC regulations or prohibitions, breaking resistance to censorship. Final notes *From Dennis Parker* *Twitter* https://twitter.com/Xentagz/status/1426452695477637121 From the hand of Vitalik Buterin, a new road map has been launched with a view to mitigating the path of centralization that Ethereum has been traveling. However, development timelines are slow and the history of delays in implementing updates to ETH is well known. Although the innovations of this blockchain are evident, so is the centralization and history of decisions that affect the immutability and resistance to censorship of the network. However, large companies and the global economic establishment love the regulations and conditions that benefit them and this can be a turning point for them to decide to invest in ETH and the path of centralization that it travels. Bitcoin Cash Blockchain: a potential DeFi opportunity From Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/vectors/bitcoin-criptomoneda-logo-btc-7029717/ In 2017 after a long debate in the community, the difference of opinion and lack of consensus on the matter caused a hard fork in the network of Bitcoin which results in the creation of a new currency. This fact marked the end of the war of the size of block (as it is known today) as this was the main reason that unleashed the division. https://ecency.com/@@leoglossary/leoglossary-hard-fork https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bitcoin https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-block After the split, each group claimed to be the real Bitcoin. However, the general public continued to call the network Bitcoin which remained unchanged and as the block size increased it began to be called Bitcoin Cash. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bch Taking the above into account, it is undeniable to say that, despite sharing a common history, Bitcoin Cash is somewhat different from Bitcoin. It is not my intention to define now who was right or wrong, nor which currency is better than the other. The objective of this article is to analyze the Bitcoin Cash blockchain and explore all the innovations that it has incorporated over time. Improvements that, despite the fact that the network remains out of the media spotlight, make this blockchain one of the most solid and innovative. Being also a niche of opportunities to explore and exploit. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/blockchain If you are open to learning something new, welcome and read carefully. The Bitcoin Cash blockchain As I explained to you, it is not my goal to narrate the reasons that led to the creation of BCH, you can find out about that in a fairly summarized way in Wikipedia. What I will do is mention to you the main changes introduced in this blockchain since 2017 when it stopped having a common history with Bitcoin. This will help you understand the potential represented by Bitcoin Cash today. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historia_de_bitcoin_cash DAA Algorithm It is considered the first update of the BCH protocol, in which the emergency adjustment algorithm of mining difficulty (EDA) is replaced by the Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm (DAA) that contained considerable improvements. CashAddresses On January 9, 2018, a new native address format is implemented with the official name of CashAddr Address Format, popularly known simply as CashAddress. 32 MB block size After the increase to 8 MB that gave rise to Bitcoin Cash, on May 15, 2018 the protocol was updated again to allow blocks of up to 32 MB (as happened in BTC in its beginnings). This update also reactivated original Bitcoin opcodes disabled by Bitcoin Core. It should be noted that the increase in the maximum block size did not set a minimum, so this change does not force miners to mine 32MB blocks, it just introduced the possibility. Curiously, the weight of the BTC blockchain is greater than that of BCH. While Bitcoin has a weight of 483 GB and Bitcoin Cash only reaches 188 GB. This has its main cause in the different popularity that both currencies have reached. To see the weight of the BCH blockchain: https://blockchair.com/es/bitcoin-cash/charts/blockchain-size To see the weight of the Bitcoin blockchain: https://blockchair.com/es/bitcoin/charts/blockchain-size Schnorr Signatures This is an enhancement that increases privacy and efficiency for both standard and multi-signature transactions. Getting to optimize the use of bandwidth and storage by 25%. Bitcoin Cash became the first coin to implement this feature even though it was possible since the patent was released in 2008. Zero conf ( 0-conf ) From Unsplash https://unsplash.com/photos/QiPe0UpC0_U Bitcoin Cash supports 0-conf allowing merchants to charge for their services and products quickly and securely. In this case, the double spend is avoided since the option to replace by fee is not enabled in the BCH code. In this case the transactions are processed by the first sight principle. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-double-spend-problem In theory, for double spending to occur, the two transactions would have to occur simultaneously. 4 years ago it was verified that less than 0.09% of double-spend transactions sent just 1 second after the first transaction was successful. https://news.bitcoin.com/why-double-spending-on-bch-and-btc-arent-the-same-problem/ Today all BCH acceptance systems for merchants and merchants monitor the blockchain network for a few seconds looking for signs of double spending before declaring the payment valid. This makes it nearly impossible to successfully double-spend. *It is valid to clarify that this is generally accepted for low amounts, with high amounts almost everyone expects at least 1 confirmation on the blockchain.* Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP) Simple Ledger Protocol allows users to create, issue and transfer digital tokens with the same network and security model as Bitcoin Cash. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token Tokens can be associated with assets and securities using the Blockchain as a public ledger with transparency and integrity to document transactions. Using the computational power and other benefits such as the low fees of the Bitcoin Cash network. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-transaction-fee Simple Ledger Protocol is non-invasive as it does not make any changes to the Bitcoin Cash protocols. Transactions containing SLP tokens are accepted and validated in the same way as BCH transactions, so double spend attempts will be rejected by the network. However, tokens are considered spent once their associated output (valid transaction) is spent. Therefore, there is a risk that if the wallets do not know the SLP tokens associated with the BCH UTXO, or if invalid SLP transactions were sent, users will lose the tokens for good. Another fact to note is that SLP transactions must obey the consensus rules of BCH transactions. So the outputs have to be above the threshold of dust; if the BCH satoshis from the inputs with SLP tokens cannot pay the outputs, an additional input of BCH must be included. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-dust-transaction Despite potential drawbacks, the versatility and functionality provided by Simple Ledger Protocol Tokens (or cashtokens) make them a useful and effective tool for increasing financial access. AnyHedge Protocol The development of AnyHedge started in the year 2020. Anyhedge is an open source protocol that allows us to use the Bitcoin Cash blockchain to create smart contracts. In this way we can create "hedges" between Bitcoin Cash and any other asset. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-open-source This protocol bases its approach on the market by trying to enable "risk trading" between peers. It works with a blind oracle, its settings apply OP_CHECKDATASIG, an active innovation in BCH. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-oracle https://mengerian.medium.com/the-story-of-op-checkdatasig-c2b1b38e801a This allows a digital signature of any arbitrary data to be verified, ensuring that the smart contract is configured ahead of time without the need for oracle interaction or permission. Also reducing the danger of misuse. Participants can choose between different oracles and theoretically establish smart contracts with the use of multiple oracles further minimizing risk. An example of a use case can be found detailed in Pablo Beltran's article, About the AnyHedge protocol…. https://read.cash/@LeoBeltran/about-the-anyhedge-protocol-and-as-bitcoin-cash-is-already-a-store-of-value-currency-a9307e94 Thanks to this development, Bitcoin Cash is now an environment for the implementation of smart contracts and DeFi platforms. BCH's UTXO model, in which each transaction creates a new unspent output, gives advantages of scalability and security, making this blockchain an attractive option for decentralized finance projects. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-finance-defi Since October 2022, BCH Bull (a decentralized trading platform based on Bitcoin Cash) has been in beta phase, during this stage more than 3000 smart contracts were created and traded. This project was just released in full production mode this past May. Now the users of this system can now initiate contracts of up to 90 days in duration enjoying the security and scalability offered by the BCH blockchain. Using the AnyHedge protocol, BCH Bull allows you to create long or short positions on various assets (US dollar, Bitcoin, gold, etc.). It is even possible to add leverage to trades. https://bchbull.com/ The main difference with similar applications found on other networks like Ethereum, is that each exchange has its own independent smart contract. Once two people agree to the terms, the contract is initiated, eliminating centralized security risks. Final notes As you can see, the sprawling Bitcoin Cash ecosystem has become a promising option for DeFi applications and paves the way for further innovation. Also offering potential advantages in scalability and security through its UTXO model. Your CashTokens are valid for identity tokens, agreement tracking, fungible token voting, decentralized agreements and many other applications. With the increasing demand for innovative financial solutions, the potential of BCH as a blockchain in the DeFi space cannot be ignored. As the financial industry continues to evolve, monitoring Bitcoin Cash innovation may be crucial for investors and cryptocurrency users in general. Support this content Reblog the post. The LeoFinance potential When I think about LeoFinance I often end up concluding that it is more than a Hive Dapp. The ways of doing things by the development team have turned it into that something else with incredible potential that can go beyond the ecosystem to which it belongs. I am going to be talking about precisely this matter, the potential of LeoFinance in today's article. Pay close attention because you will find some points that you surely did not know. What is LeoFinance? According to their own whitepaper, LeoFinance is a Web 3.0 ecosystem that develops and manages a wide range of applications based on blockchain. It started in July 2019 as a social media platform geared towards crypto and financial content, but they have evolved from there. https://whitepaper.LeoFinance.io/ https://ecency.com/@@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0 https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/blockchain Perhaps many of the users who use the LeoFinance interface to interact with the Hive blockchain publishing content do not know that this platform goes beyond this blockchain. LeoFinance's path has led them to evolve towards a multi-blockchain Web 3.0 ecosystem. https://ecency.com/posts/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive The community that has been created around the social interface that serves as a meeting point has allowed them to go a step further. LeoFinance's token native $LEO is a second layer asset in Hive and it is possible to move it to other blockchains such as Polygon or BNB thanks to an implemented bridge (LeoBridge). https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-layer-2 https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leobridge This allows the token to acquire relevance beyond its own community, since, being on other blockchains, the doors are opened to new investors who can bet on $LEO without having to be on Hive. Another advantage is that this token can be obtained without the need for financial investment, since it is distributed to content creators and curators in LeoFinance every day in a decentralized manner. It is the same principle that is applied in Hive, you create valuable content that enhances the community and in exchange you are rewarded with tokenized money. These tokens you can freeze to gain voting power and thus earn rewards through curating other people's posts. However, LeoFinance's economy is a bit broader than that. They integrate different strategies such as the use of ad systems in the UI whose profits are used to buy $LEO and distribute it among those who delegate Hive Power to the project or directly burn it. Some LeoFinance projects If you have noticed, the LeoFinance.io website is just the starting point. This is where several of the main main features of the project are grouped together and it is where the community interacts with each other. However, this not all. Let me mention some of the projects or applications that LeoFinance has created or been involved with. LeoFi Leofi is a project that defines itself as decentralized finance (DeFi) for the LEO token and is still in beta status. One of its main features is P2P leasing that will allow Leo Power to be rented between users in a decentralized way. https://leofi.io/ https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-lease https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralization This creates an incredible opportunity and a new use case, as many users don't want or need to use the Leo Power every day. It is not a secret that a lot of effort is required to generate content every day, but also, most users do not require a large amount of resources to operate normally. So, instead of wasting their voting power, they can lease it to other users through LeoFi and receive a profit in liquid $LEO. This profit can be spent or used to increase your Leo Power and rent it out again. Something positive to keep in mind is that the Leo Power never ceases to be yours and there is no risk of losing it. This is one of the business models that I discussed in the article Let's talk about Hive business opportunities, but applied to LeoFinance. https://leoFinance.io/posts/yecier/hive-business-opportunities LeoBridge We had already mentioned it above, but this is a project worth delving into. LeoBridge the same LeoFinance team defines it as one of the most challenging projects they have worked on. https://wleo.io/ LeoBridge offers the ability to exchange assets from one blockchain to another by using decentralized smart contracts in every system where it exists in the $LEO token. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-smart-contract LeoBridge currently allows you to switch from Hive to three blockchains and vice versa: Ethereum BNB Polygon In the case of the BNB and Polygon networks, it is also possible to send HBD and Hive to these networks through this platform. This aspect gives LeoFinance quite a privileged place in the Hive adoption process. LeoPedia This is an open resource or repository for crypto education. It can serve as a guide to cryptocurrency where you can explore, learn, and educate yourself about one of the most revolutionary technological and financial phenomena of our lifetimes. To access this tool click here. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency https://leopedia.io/ LeoDex LeoDex is a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange that allows you to manage, buy and sell all tokens and cryptocurrencies based on the Hive blockchain. https://leodex.io/ HiveStats HiveStats is a tool that allows us to explore the Hive blockchain. In this way we can review the transactions carried out in more detail and even play Sherlock Holmes in the analysis of our accounts (or the accounts of others). https://www.hivestats.io/ Hivers who take their presence on Hive seriously will find this website a powerful ally to draw up growth strategies or analyze the performance of their content. All-in-one Web 3.0 application? As I mentioned, LeoFinance started out as a long content interactive network focused on cryptocurrencies and finance. All users could create and share articles and analysis on these topics. However, during the 2020-2021 stage, the need to have a short content application on the web3 was identified. The team undertook the task of developing and adapting the code towards a platform that would adapt to this type of content. The new interface was finally released on May 1, 2023. Obviously, the feedback from the users led to a series of improvements and corrections. Thanks to this, today LeoFinance focuses its main interface on interaction as a short content social network, but maintaining the essence that gave rise to it with a space for the creation of long content regarding cryptocurrencies and finance. In addition, in the article The Evolution of LeoFinance: Behind the Scenes of Paywall and Content Models - Decrypting the Future they talk about the possibility of incorporating a paywall for content or a kind of payment for subscriptions. This would mean a gigantic impact not only for LeoFinance but for the entire Hive ecosystem since it is something that has not been achieved so far. https://leofinance.io/posts/leofinance/jftkpnqq But if we go further, this would represent the perfect incentive for content creators who are still in Web 2.0 to decide to move towards the web 3.0. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0 Final notes I think it's clear that the potential for LeoFinance to become the epicenter of web 3.0 and Hive adoption is huge. The work they have done taking $LEO to other blockchains is impressive and could cause the value of this token to skyrocket and exceed the value of $HIVE (although remote, it is a possibility). Another surprising thing is the constant communication that those in charge of this project have with the community. They inform of the plans and objectives months, and even years, before starting to develop them. In my opinion, in terms of communication, they are one of the projects that performs best within the entire hiver ecosystem. After researching, obtaining and analyzing all the above information, I think that in an oversimplified way Leofinance could be divided into two: Your token and economic principles. The interface and its work team. Of the first, we already explained in a basic way its operation in the initial paragraphs of this article and it is what guarantees decentralization. Being a layer 2 asset of Hive, no one can limit, prohibit or censor the use of this cryptocurrency. This second point is more centralized, but it is where the constant evolution and creation of solutions is guaranteed. Obviously the main interface of leofinance.io belongs to them and they can push innovations and new features without asking for anyone else's approval. In the same way, they create and promote applications and solutions related to Leofinance and LEO Token. As many others could do if they wanted to, since the first point guarantees them that possibility. Now it's your turn, did you know that the LeoFinance universe expanded so much or did you think it was just the interface to publish content? Do you agree with my reasoning about the potential it has? Is there any point on which you disagree with me? Leave me your answers in the comments that we all learn from the debate. The Web 3.0 and Hive dilemas From Stock Images by @alex-zen https://peakd.com/post/@alex-zen/stock-images-or-or-thanks-hive https://peakd.com/@alex-zen In a centralized social network, the CEO who determines the rules that must be followed within the platform. Of course, since the social network belongs to an entity that must submit to the local laws where it operates, the rules have to follow the line of action that those laws draw for them. These obligations stand in contrast to the freedom offered by Web 3.0 and Hive in particular, though this also presents a dilemma. https://ecency.com/@@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0 https://ecency.com/posts/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive On this subject and more I will deepen throughout this article. If you are interested in learning about the dilemma of Web 3.0 and Hive, I invite you to read carefully. Let's get started! Web 2.0 and traditional social networks Web 2.0 has been with us for a while, in fact, it is the natural habitat of almost all of humanity with internet access nowadays. However, it does raise a major issue or ethical question for certain groups of people, and that is that people have no privacy or control over their data. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0 https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-data The drawbacks of Web 2.0 Each Web 2.0 platform is an independent island, in that sense and being very technical, it could be said that it is a decentralized network. However, each of these islands is a private database that does not interact with each other, each one controlled by an entity (the company that owns said platform). To access each platform you will need to register individually in each of them and therefore have a different username and password. As I mentioned at the beginning, each entity has the ability to decide what is done on its platform, what is allowed and what is not, and what to do with the data generated there. This data generated by users through their published content and interactions is mostly sold to third parties. They are sold because along with ads they are the main sources of revenue for the companies that control the platforms. The user has no control over it. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-advertising In the same way, each platform has the right to block or censor certain users and certain content at their convenience. This limits the freedom of each user to do or say what they want, but there's not much a user can do either. From the moment you register on these platforms, you accept the terms and conditions, assigning the right and accepting the authority of the platform over your data and profile. In general, in Web 2.0 a user can monetize their content if it meets certain requirements and parameters and also submits to certain rules about the type of content to generate. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-monetization Web 3.0 Web 3.0 is considered the next step in the evolution of Internet, it began to be mentioned with the rise of cryptocurrencies and its decentralized systems. Many think that the foundation of this new generation of the web will be blockchains, although technically this is not required. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-internet https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/blockchain Basically the central idea is decentralization, the design of Web 3.0 demands that groups or individual people run nodes around the world allowing anyone to interact and build on them. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralization As in Web 2.0, Web 3.0 is not a single platform, it is a set of systems that may or may not be independent of each other. Another element to take into account is that the third version of the Internet has no owner. Perhaps for some it is a dilemma to define what Web 3.0 is, since it is still being built and the level reached is barely a fraction of the potential it can have. Of course, a fundamental aspect and in which many seem to agree is monetization through tokenization. Not only providing independence from large internet corporations, but also from large banking corporations and government financial systems. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-tokenization In my opinion, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 should coexist for many years; Perhaps many of the great dominant players of 2.0 will end up adopting characteristics of 3.0, but their business model should not disappear. Hive in Web 3.0 From Stock Images by @iodacasamia https://ecency.com/hive-118554/@iodacasamia/people-of-hive-hive-stock-images https://ecency.com/@iodacasamia Hive is part of Web 3.0, it's one of those platforms that make it up. For its part, Hive has a system that supports the development of all Web 2.0 functionalities (social networks, forums, blogs, wikis, etc.) and also has its own economy. Hive provides unique solutions to many of the technical and consensus issues faced by many other communities. To know more about this platform you can read this article *Hive Blockchain: The Complete Guide for New Users || Tutorial* by @victoriabsb. https://ecency.com/hive-110011/@victoriabsb/hive-blockchain-the-complete-guide-for-new-users https://ecency.com/@victoriabsb In particular, from now on I will focus on some of the dilemmas that, in my opinion, are posed to Hive (and Web 3.0) and to refute some approaches that have been given. The dilemma of Hive and Web 3.0 Hive is decentralized, immutable and resistant to censorship, these are some of the pillars on which the relevance of the platform is sustained. So where is the dilemma? For me they are divided into two points. Point 1. Characteristics of Hive that can lead to abuse. Hive is censorship resistant, that's an undeniable reality. No one will be able to block your account or prohibit you from commenting or posting what you want. All users benefit from it, even those who do not have the best intentions. Due to this feature, there is no effective control means to prevent hateful content, extreme violence, child abuse, or to block those who incite it. While it is true that interfaces can limit the display of this kind of information, either by muting it or hiding it in their UIs, it will always be available on the blockchain. There is no way to prevent that image of a minor being sexually abused from being recorded on the blockchain without Hive's immutability condition disappearing. And in the same way it is not possible to prevent communities of this type from being created, even if 99.9% want it. Again, immutability would have to be removed, and here's one of Hive's main dilemmas. Another case is that of the trolls. It is true that there is the possibility of muting to prevent notifications of harassing or mocking messages from reaching us, but we cannot prevent downvotes from reaching us. The downvote function is understandable in the current Hive schema. It is used to penalize and prevent those who commit plagiarism from monetizing or those who, as in the previous case, generate unwanted content (but they rarely care about monetization). However, it can have the negative effect of people who do everything right being trolled or hated with a Hive Power high. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hive-power-hp Perhaps a penalty system where there are no downvotes, such as a blacklist, where all those included in it are unable to monetize within Hive would be more convenient. Point 2. The promotion of Hive attributing virtues that it does not have. How many times have you heard that in Hive you are in control and you own your data? I a few. In Hive you are: Protected against censorship. You participate in a decentralized system where general rules and decisions are made jointly through consensus. **But in Hive you don't have control over your data.** I hope you haven't jumped right into the comments to rebut me without first letting me explain why I'm saying what I'm saying. In Hive there is a limit to what you can do with your content once you have published it. Once you do an action (comment, vote, follow another user, etc.) and it is written to the blockchain, it cannot be deleted. Nor can you delete your account once you have created it. In this sense, you do not own your data, once you publish something it belongs to the blockchain and to the entire ecosystem until the end of time. Again, in Web 2.0 the company that owns the platform where you interact can take all the interaction data you generate and sell it. In Web 3.0 and Hive, anyone can take the engagement data you generate, analyze it, and sell it. If you had forgotten, the blockchain is decentralized and it is public. So anyone with the necessary technical knowledge can create algorithms to analyze user interactions on the blockchain, generate data and sell it. *To you who have read me, I would like that from now on when talking about Hive and promoting it, you would take this point into account. Highlight the virtues it has, but don't attribute those it doesn't* Final notes The dilemmas of Hive and Web 3.0 are there, I just mentioned some of them that I have thought about the most. However, I think that, if we put everything on a scale compared to the characteristics of traditional social networks, in terms of freedoms, our Hive wins by a lot. Let's talk about Hive business opportunities Do you want learn some multiple Hive business opportunities to convert yourself in a business owner? Almost everyone wants to be one day a business owner. That is that way because being an owner represent that you made it, you have (usually) a good economic situation and you are your own boss. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/photos/empresario-ocurrencia-competencia-1340649/ However, beyond that desire a few persons give the first step to do it. The reason? That is not an easy task to do. The pressure is high and the risk are very threatening. A bad decision or a bad season can drive you to debts or bankruptcy. But like an iconic phrase from Blood In Blood Out movie: https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-debt https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bankruptcy *LA VIDA ES UN RIESGO, CARNAL* Life is a risk, pal In today article I want to share with you some ideas of business that can you develop taking advantage of the Hive characteristics. Let’s begin the Hive business opportunities recount! My own small business Now I will ask from my own experience about a business opportunity in Hive that you can replicate easily. Is about an exchange or remittance entrepreneurship. The user base is already created and you can find them in your favorites communities. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-exchange https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-remittance You can be the hub for your locals and conational hivers where they exchange they Hive and HBDs for the local currency. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-currency That is what I did with @canje. For the moment CANJE allow my fellows countrymen to easily convert his well earned rewards in Hive to the local coin (cuban peso). If you wonder, there is no need of programming skills. https://peakd.com/@canje In my case, I use two ways to make an exchange. In first place I stablished the direct transfer in Hive using the memo functionality. The client sends me the amount they want swap and in the memo they write the number of debit card where they want to receive their money. This method allows doing all the process without need of get out of Hive. The second way is a simple telegram bot. Of course I will like in the future have a more sophisticated tool (web or app) but this do the job. In this case the clients start the bot and select one of the choices available and follows the instructions of the bot. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-clients I have too a channel and group in Telegram for support purposes. The exchange rate is actualized and informed in all the social networks of CANJE and in the bot. https://peakd.com/introduce-yourself/@canje/introduccion-a-canje-todo-lo Of course this kind of business opportunity in Hive highly depends on your own capacity of process the incoming transactions. If you decide go ahead with this remittance or exchange project, you can incorporate other options like: Service payments (they send you $hive or $hbd and you pay with FIAT the service required). https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fiat-currency FIAT to HBD or Hive (you sell back the coins you exchange). The blockchain transparency guarantee the process and avoid possible attends of scam you. The fact is that if is no write in the blockchain then don’t happened, so you secure that way the client truly sends the coins. Other business opportunities in Hive As you know the entrepreneurships options are just limited by our imagination and capacity and in Hive is the same. Maybe you are thinking in a business case that I never will imagine. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-entrepreneur However, I will mention you some cases that already I conceive and just require the desire to do it. Loans You can start giving loans to hivers around the world. You accept Hive as collateral and give a loan in HBD to your clients or on contrary you receive HBD and give the loan in Hive Power delegation. You can define the rules of functioning of the process but here go a though: https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hive-power-hp You receive 100 HBD and gives a loan for 285 Hive Power with an interest of 4% for a year and you put the 100 HBD in savings. After a year if you don’t receive a 11,4 Hive payment to cover the interest you retire the Hive Power delegation and send back the HBD minus the interest debt. In any case you will be earning a 24% over the amount you loan. Use the savings If you are in Hive, then you may have notice the 20% interest that provide HBD Savings. So this idea is take advantage of this. Of course you have to read and calculate very well all the numbers to secure that the math match. Ask for a loan, you can take a traditional one with FIAT or one where you give Hive and get HBD. The goal is take a loan where the interest rate be less than 15%, because you will be using the 20% interest of HBD Savings. While lower the better. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-interest-rate Example, if you have a loan of 1000 USD and have to pay a ten percent of interest after a year you will have a 100 (minus the exchanges fees) dollars profit. While more you ask in the loan more you will earn. However, this have a multiples risks: Depend on the type of loan you ask the interest rate can go up and make unprofitable the system. The HBD can go in a negative depeg versus the dollar and eat your profits. If you don’t calculate well the exchange rates (FIAT to crypto, crypto to FIAT) can erase your profits. Of course, there is more business opportunities in Hive, but this are the simplest to do and none require programming skills to do it. Even one of them don’t require having money save to develop it. Risk always will be existing on any business in or out Hive, these scenarios that I write today are one of the less risky you will ever find. The decision of do it or not depends on you and your goals. Now tell me, have you already think about this business opportunities in Hive? What another idea you have about entrepreneurship related with Hive? I will be waiting for your opinion. Support this content Reblog the post. Fintech solution for local needs goes global Living in a undevelopment country has many disadvantages (and if that country face sanctions is worst), but if you know where to look, there is many opportunities too. Some of this opportunities require money to invest, other just need the imagination, effort, abilities and knowledge from the creator. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment Cuba, my country, due US government sanctions against the dictatorial Cuban Government don’t have access to the main financial platforms (say Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Exchanges, Brokers, Ebay, etc.). For this reason, we the cubans cannot insert ourselves into the global and internet market easily. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-government https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-internet https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market I tell you all this because you need to have the context, and because it is true, to understand the primary subject that I will analyze today. Fintech solutions for local necessities Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/illustrations/ecommerce-ventas-online-ventas-1706103/ Cuba have mobile data internet just in 2017, so we can say that the interaction of cubans with the online world is still in a baby stage. People use this new tool primary to access social networks like Facebook or Instagram and messages apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. The P2P sell and buy groups start to transitioning from classifies ads webs to groups of Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-p2p I recognize that this ambit is primitive but extremely effective if you want find products in your area. More when the Cuban Government have the control of all the minorities shop stores and the e-commerce solutions that they offer are almost always empty’s or with low demand products. This groups are the perfect refugee for the small and informal private sellers, but pass a time they are not enough. In this ambient comes the Covid-19 pandemic and force an involuntary and massive migration to the online world. Before the lack of work and incomings and earnings, cubans start to explore alternatives and a big percent of people and entrepreneur find the cryptocurrencies. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency Of course, until that moment crypto was the geek or necessity money. Almost none business or client now about that and remain sceptic to start use it. The cuban private business refuse to accept it due the volatilization and the miss of a market to exchange the crypto (even the stablecoin) to local FIAT currency to be able to buy raw material and pay his employees. Is then when a cuban programmer and entrepreneur figure out and solutions and start to development to make it a product for Cubans. Erich García create Qvapay a payment gateway that allows deposit and withdrawals in cryptocurrency or FIAT money. https://qvapay.com/register/yecier18 Screenshot taken by me from the web of Qvapay https://qvapay.com/register/yecier18 For provide security to business to implement this platform at a payment gateway for his products and services they operate with a stable unit. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-payment When you deposit any of the cryptocurrencies accepted by Qvapay your balance is upgrade with the equivalent to dollar. That way as business you can accept crypto payments and be protected against volatility. https://qvapay.com/register/yecier18 The emerging of this platform create around it news forms of business and personal and community economies. Many start to do functions of exchange peers using the P2P option or start to receiving here the incomings for they freelancers services. Others create startups of remittance to Cuba using Qvapay. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-economy In this way, the creation of a solution for a local (or maybe personal) necessity results in a platform that today has report users in all Latin America, USA and some countries from Europe. The structure of Qvapay is define as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). In addition, they use the blockchain technology for assure the security and transparence of all transactions inside the system. Internal transactions that have the advantage of being free of fees. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-autonomous-organization-dao https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/blockchain This allow users to use directly the SQP (Qvapay balance) to pay another users or business for a product or service. Maybe you are thinking that already exists technologies and platforms that do the same things, but I have to remember you: **majority of them do not accept cuban people as users**. The fintech entrepreneurship of Qvapay not only allow cubans insert ourselves into the global market of products and services, allow too that entrepreneurs, business and people around the world access to high quality cubans solutions and services. Now in 2023, thanks to Qvapay and the use of cryptocurrencies many people can work by internet and have better earnings that working for abusive and low payment jobs that the totalitarian Cuban Government offers. Or at least give the chance of have an extra income, this way a certain number of cubans are more economically free working as community managers, video and photo editors, programmers, etc. This platform has things to improve, above all in the support area that still is very slow to attend, but the development team always is working in aggregate new features or fix any detected problem. However, I want to point out that Qvapay receive in the past many unjustified criticisms from people that don’t understand the functioning of platform or people that are haters of Erich García the programmer and principal face of Qvapay. Funny to me, most of that irrational attacks coming from persons that are programmers too or have the money to develop some similar solutions, but they don´t. They calling the platform a monopoly of the Cuban Government; unaware, naively or deliberately, that Qvapay is a private DAO and that already exist private cuban and foreign solutions for do the same things you do with Qvapay. By fortune of us, the quality of the platform and the reasoning and confidence of the users prevail. Qvapay have 2+ years working as payment gateway without a single negative incident and More and more business are integrating it increasing the uses cases for the SQP. https://qvapay.com/register/yecier18 Unfortunately, there is a lot of road to go, mostly in relation with the technological and financial education. Many cuban people are still naive before situations that involve data protection and phishing. Personally I use Qvapay for my own entrepreneurship CANJE that involve too the Hive blockchain, but I will like that others systems come out offering similar or new solutions. I am from the firm opinion that while more competition exists better result get the users. https://peakd.com/introduce-yourself/@canje/introduccion-a-canje-todo-lo Support this content Reblog the post. A panoramic of the pension situation One of the main economic issues that societies and governments have to address today are pension and retirement systems. The modification or little purchasing power of the same can give way to demonstrations and even changes in the political configurations of the countries. https://ecency.com/@@leoglossary/leoglossary-economic Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/photos/pobreza-en-blanco-y-negro-emoci%c3%b3n-4561704/ Retirement pensions are a social security measure that guarantees a regular income to people who have reached a certain age and/or years of service. Above all, it protects those who are no longer able to work. This idea dates back to the time of the Romans, who established pensions for disabled military veterans as a way of providing security for the soldiers in their army. In the Middle Ages, corporations of merchants and merchants established retirement systems for their members. The United Kingdom was the first country to establish a national pension system in the 19th century. Also, in 1908, they established a system for people over 70 years old with low incomes. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-corporation In the United States, the first pension system was established by the federal government in 1862 for veterans of the Civil War. And, in 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act, which established the nation's pension system for people age 65 and older and is the foundation of that nation's retirement systems today. There are ideological currents that consider that retirements should not exist, being the sole responsibility of each individual. Although I agree that each person should save money or maintain investments to guarantee a better old age, I believe that social retirement systems are necessary. The main objective of retirement pensions is to give financial security to people who can no longer work. They are people who gave their time, dedication and effort to a company or government in exchange for a salary and the guarantee of income when they accumulate a number of years of service and a certain age. However, the objective of this post is not to determine the validity or not of the retirement systems, it has more to do with their sustainability and financing. Most of them are financed through monthly contributions from employers, employees and the government, the amount to be earned is related to the average salary of the person during his working life. Over the years, these processes have evolved adapting to the needs of society and the active workforce. However, there are two large structures: **Public:** retirees are paid with the monthly contributions of active workers. **Private:** the contributions made by workers and employers are managed by a pension fund that is in charge of managing and investing the money to make it grow. At the time of retirement, it is given to each pensioner according to their contributions and investment earnings. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-pension-fund https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment It must be acknowledge that these systems face sustainability challenges that may affect the ability to provide adequate income to present and future retirees. Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/photos/marioneta-abuelita-550583/ One of the main problems is the aging of the population. As the population ages and life expectancy increases, the number of retirees increases. This requires a greater number of people who contribute to the system, taxpayers who, contrary to what is needed, decrease. This produces an imbalance between income and expenses that makes it difficult to distribute adequate income to retirees. For these reasons, many retirement laws have been modified to increase the age and years of contribution in order to reduce the difference. This is one of the main reasons why many say that public pension systems are a Ponzi or pyramid system. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-income https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-ponzi-scheme But private pension systems are not without problems. Many times a bad investment can lead to the loss of the entire bag saved for retirement. With the financial crisis unleashed in the world in 2008, it was the case that many pension funds lost all the money that their contributors contributed, leaving them financially unprotected in their old age. In addition, low economic growth and low interest rates can affect them, as this can cause lower investment returns, which can affect the ability to provide an adequate income for retirees. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-interest-rate Beyond sustainability, another problem has to do with the purchasing power of the accrued pension. Inflation can cause the amount received to stop meeting its objective in a period of a few years, being insufficient to cover the basic needs of retirees. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-inflation An obvious example is that of Cuban pensioners, where after a monetary adjustment in the country's politics, most of the retirees went from nominally earning an average salary in the country to receiving less than a minimum wage each month. Then the inflation process halved their already poor purchasing power. Another frequent situation occurs in countries where there is no free and universal public health system, where the increase in health care costs reduces the income available for other expenses. This is because as the population ages, the cost and amount of medical care required also increases. The ideal would be a mixed system, linking the contributions of the public system with the investments of the private sector. However, each person must take care to ensure an income independent of the pension. Either by savings, investment or income, so that when the pension fails or inflation hits your purchasing power is not affected as much. *Investing in* *Bitcoin* *in the long term as a store of value or receiving between 10 and 30 percent of retirement in this* *cryptocurrency* *could be effective alternatives to guarantee the purchasing power of pensioners.* https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bitcoin https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency Retirees represent around 30% of the general population, being an important factor in consumption that stimulates and develops the economy. Hence the importance that those responsible for public policy and the government address solutions to guarantee the sustainability of pensions and the financial security of retirees without affecting the current working class. https://ecency.com/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-economy Support this content Reblog the post. Investment Experiment #2: Top 10 crypto (ESP-EN) ENGLISH VERSION If you still don't know what this investor experiment is about, I invite you to read the first post where I explain it in detail. https://ecency.com/hive-10053/@yecier/experimento-inversor-top-10-crypto-esp-en There is no doubt that this is a good way to invest for those who have no desire to dedicate themselves to trading. And that is an activity that requires study, dedication and a lot of emotions. To help you understand, I'm going to give you a brief overview of how this investor experiment works. It consists of investing 1 dollar each month in each of the cryptocurrencies belonging to the top 10, excluding stablecoins. If a cryptocurrency falls out of the ranking, the one that occupies its place will become the focus of investments. 10 dollars is an amount that I can afford to invest each month without affecting my economy; although any change I will inform you. Everything takes place on Kucoin an Exchange that allows you to buy cryptocurrencies from amounts less than 1 dollar. Therefore, it is special for low budgets like mine. I don't delay any longer and proceed to leave you with the information corresponding to this month. https://www.kucoin.com/ucenter/signup?rcode=rJLLMNK The behavior of the investment made reflected a negative general result with a -2.9%. Individually, each cryptocurrency behaved as follows: Bitcoin -3.07% Ethereum +2% BNB -9% XRP +11% Cardano -4% Dogecoin -10% Polygon Matic -7% Solana -6% Polkadot -6% Litecoin +4% It should be noted that this month Polkadot left the top 10, taking its place Tron. After the new investments this month, the scenario looked like this: *Screenshot taken by me. Expand to see better.* If you find it interesting, I invite you to replicate it and leave me your experiences in the comments. *Note for hivers from other countries: in Cuba the average salary is only 20 dollars a month* Every month, along with the new purchase, I will bring you an update, so if you want to stay informed about how this experiment unfolds, I invite you to follow me. My crypto earnings May 2023 Hey and welcome to the analysis of each month about my humble gains from crypto. The actual post corresponds to the past month of May. I started to do this because I think is a good way to encourage myself to be more consistent and bold in the path of increase my earnings. As always I want to specify that this is only crypto base earnings (farming, staking, blogging, etc.). I do other things for living and my small and modest investments are not reflected here. If you want to compare with previous month click here. https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@yecier/my-crypto-earnings Say this let´s start to see how go the past month of May. FreeBitcoin https://freebitco.in/?r=12378015 I earned in this faucet/banking cryptoaccount/gamble platform 2498 satoshis. Around 0.68 USD just for less a minute a day claiming the free roll. AdBtc https://r.adbtc.top/1153098 I was a little more active this month in this PTC platform but not with consistency, that limit my earnings around 0.24 USD (900 sats). Despite that, this is an especially good platform for that moments of wait or impasse that we have daily. Publishox https://www.publish0x.com?a=YRdGRqo0bD Another month and still my rhythm of posting not was a constant but I publish more content focus on the crypto subject. However, my profits only reach the 0.39 USD dollars. ReadCash https://read.cash/r/criptocu This was a platform where I replicate some of my post originally posted in Hive. I earned 0.97 dollars (0.00841312 BCH). SmartBCH This past month I decide to move the majority of my DEFI investments here, one part go to Hive HBD savings system and other go to fund the investment exercise that I am development. However, the sidechain of BCH gives me a profit this month of 2.3 dollars thanks to the DEFI and farming system that I still participate in. Hive Another month where my most profitable platform was #HIVE. I earned for my post 14 HBD and for my saving interest 1.3 HBD. A total of approximately 15.3 dollars. https://ecency.com/trending/hive *Note: I don´t count the Hive Power rewards.* Conclusion So, the total of my crypto earnings this May ascend to 19,88 usd dollars. Probably you think that this amount is to small, but you have to consider few things: These 19,88 dollars represent the 175% of the minimal wage in my country (Cuba) and more that 200% of the minimal pension. I earned this without any money investment. The amounts in smartBCH farms was earned as well with a crypto base founding from zero without investment. Analysis of Cuba's "Bitcoin Law" Some time has passed since the euphoria of the legalization of Bitcoin in Cuba. A piece of news that injected large doses of hope in some and indifference and distrust in others. And precisely now that emotions have calmed down, I bring you this analysis on the repercussions of Resolution 89/2022 of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC). https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/sites/default/files/goc-2022-o43pdf.pdf If you want to inform yourself with objective information, I encourage you to read until the end, because I will explain the good, the negative and even the insignificant. Canva design made by me https://www.canva.com/design/DAFjBY9Oijc/view?utm_content=DAFjBY9Oijc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=embeds&utm_source=link With this new resolution, what is the situation of Bitcoin in Cuba? First, it is necessary to clarify what this new "law" means regarding cryptocurrencies in Cuba. And it is that, to be honest, it is nothing more than a complement to BCC Resolution 215/2021, which is the regulation that established the regulations for the use of cryptoactives. https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/sites/default/files/goc-2021-ex73.pdf In more concrete words, the use of Bitcoin in Cuba and cryptocurrencies was already legal. This new resolution only defines the specifics on a factor defined in the other law (the granting of a license to virtual financial asset service providers). Is the condition of Bitcoin in Cuba the same as in El Salvador? No! The terms and situations cannot be confused. In El Salvador, and other countries that have recently joined, the BTC is legal tender. Bitcoin in Cuba is considered a digital asset and, failing that, similar in category to foreign currencies, for a better analogy, a decentralized currency. A legal tender is backed by the government and its acceptance to make or receive payments is mandatory throughout the territory of that nation at all levels. On the other hand, a virtual asset, despite the fact that it can be exchanged for local currency or used as a means of payment, is not mandatory acceptance. What then defines this new resolution on crypto assets? Resolution 89 establishes the specific requirements for licenses for virtual asset service providers that operate in and from Cuba (FIRST RESOLVES). That is, for: …any natural or legal person who, as a business or in business activities, is engaged in the exchange between virtual assets and legal tender; the exchange between one or more forms of virtual assets; the transfer of virtual assets; the custody or administration of virtual assets or instruments that allow control over virtual assets; and to the participation and provision of financial services related to an issuer's offer or sale of a virtual asset. These requirements range from the conditions for authorization, operation, regulation, supervision, surveillance, corrective mechanisms to their cancellation. So, is this law good or not? Let's analyze point by point to discover it. RESOLVED SECOND To be a provider of virtual asset services, you have to request the license from the BCC, which before granting it has to consult the Cryptoactive Group (who they are is not specified). RESOLVED THIRD You can present your application and your project, but it is the Central Bank of Cuba who decides the virtual assets (cryptocurrencies), the conditions and restrictions of the operations. As it also imposes measures that you must comply with in the control and custody of virtual assets. RESOLVED FOURTH Establishes the procedures to apply for a service provider license depending on whether you are a Cuban natural or legal person or not. Summary, everyone has to request it if they want to operate in Cuba. RESOLVED FIFTH Establish the attached documents that you must deliver together with the resolution, you practically have to give even the type of ink of the pen with which you sign. You must also deliver the procedures related to the system for preventing and confronting money laundering, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction that you will apply on your platform. These procedures should include actions such as: Obtain, retain, and transmit information about the originator and beneficiary of a transaction when it is suspected that it is illegal or when they exceed the threshold of one thousand US dollars or its equivalent. Issue reports of suspicious operations and the complementary information requested by the General Directorate of Financial Operations of the Central Bank of Cuba. RESOLVED SIXTH Establishes the particularities for documents issued in other languages or in other countries. RESOLVED SEVENTH The Central Bank can simplify the procedures and establish easier forms of compliance with the requirements set forth in this Resolution. We are all equal, but there are some more equal than others. RESOLVED EIGHTH Deadlines and procedures in cases that require correction of errors in the documents submitted or add others. RESOLVED NINTH Deadlines to respond on the granting or denial of the license. A maximum of 90 business days, extendable up to 180 if it is required to present additional documents or correct errors in any of them. RESOLVED TENTH Without the approval of the General Directorate of Financial Operations Investigation of the Central Bank of Cuba on the procedures presented by the applicant against money laundering and financing of terrorism, there is no license. RESOLVED ELEVENTH The licenses last for 1 year and can be extended for another year because this is on an experimental basis. In other words, you don't have a guarantee for the future, but this is Cuba, so we must be used to it, right? RESOLVED TWELFTH Virtual asset service providers operate only with virtual assets approved by the Central Bank of Cuba, by license. I put it verbatim because it is so clear that it does not need an explanation. RESOLVED THIRTEENTH If you are approved, read Decree-Law 317, "On the prevention and confrontation of money laundering, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction", of December 7, 2013, and its complementary regulations. You need to comply with it or abide by the consequences, that to know what they are you have to read it. https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/sites/default/files/go_x_008_2014.pdf RESOLVED FOURTEENTH Those that are approved are registered in the Registry of Obligated Subjects of the Strategy for the prevention, detection and confrontation of money laundering. They must do so at the General Directorate of Financial Operations Investigation within the period set in the license. RESOLVED FIFTEENTH In the event of any change in operations, ownership structure or of any other nature, they must request authorization from the Central Bank. RESOLVED SIXTEENTH They have the obligation to keep the accounting of the operations in accordance with the accounting standards issued by the Ministry of Finance and Prices on the basis of the approved Cuban Financial Information Standards. In addition, they have to send the financial statements to the Central Bank of Cuba in the terms, terms and conditions established by it. RESOLVED SEVENTEENTH, EIGHTEENTH and NINETEENTH You must comply with the information requirements, internal control standards, risk management, and others established by the BCC. In addition, you fall under the supervision of the organizational unit designated by the bank, regardless of the inspections and controls that may be carried out by other government authorities. Which may carry out all the inspection visits they deem necessary. RESOLVED TWENTIETH They cannot cease operations without authorization from the Central Bank. RESOLVED TWENTY-FIRST The license can be modified at the owner's own request or for any of the reasons provided in Decree-Law 362, "Of the Institutions of the Banking and Financial System", of September 14, 2018. https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/sites/default/files/goc-2018-ex58.pdf RESOLVED TWENTY-SECOND If you violate the provisions of Resolution 89, its complementary regulations and the license granted or if you operate without a license from the Central Bank of Cuba, you will incur sanctions in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law 363 "On administrative infractions of the provisions on banking, financial and exchange matters" of September 14, 2018". Without influencing this in the criminal proceedings to which you could be subjected. https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/sites/default/files/goc-2018-ex58.pdf They can judge and sanction you at the same time for administrative and criminal matters. Conclusions of a serious analysis For Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, it is always better for their expansion in daily use when a state legalizes or regulates their use than when they suddenly prohibit it. But it is designed for projects that seek to integrate crypto with CUP or MLC payments for purchase or sale, otherwise it makes no sense to request this license to operate with Bitcoin in Cuba. It is also necessary that measures be established so that their use on exchange platforms does not result in money laundering or financing of crimes. What causes reluctance is that the collection of personal data and transactions made is requested. Leaving open the assumptions where they can be made to the interpretation of the official on duty. It is not defined when one is suspected of an illegal act, the requirement of a court order to obtain this data is not established. A request by the General Directorate of Financial Operations of the Central Bank of Cuba is enough for them to obtain private and personal information of the users. The most worrying thing is that those who obtain these licenses are obliged to report all the data of any transaction carried out by a user or client over $1,000. The two-year limit on licenses (1 for duration plus 1 for possible extension) seems designed to perhaps guarantee a new state monopoly after that time. Although it is good for the private ecosystem of the economy in Cuba to have this possibility, the established regulations have the seal of excessiveness to which the government has accustomed us. It seems like a measure whose main objective is to maintain control at all costs and not to promote and encourage development and entrepreneurship. It is the main difference with the measures taken in countries like El Salvador. They did so with the aim of attracting investment, promoting development and new ventures. The Cuban government, on the other hand, seems to have a philosophy of "we are going to regulate it so that control does not get out of hand and if it generates better money for us." We really need central banks? Do we really need central banks? If we take a quick look at today's world, it would seem that they are essential, and there is no shortage of articles and reports reminding us of their importance. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-central-bank Perhaps in these times of inflation you have heard a lot about actions by central banks to control inflation. Something ironic because many times they are the main culprits of it. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-inflation Despite the fact that many present them as a necessary evil to maintain economic stability, facilitate international trade and avoid currency crises, they are not so essential. Before they emerged, the world worked perfectly, and no, the current development of humanity and international trade is not due, in my opinion, to the creation of these but to technological advances applied to the monetary system and financial. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-monetary-system Image from Unsplash https://unsplash.com/photos/Skfy8ljB7X4 The very rise of central banks shows us that their goal was not to benefit ordinary people, but rather to give governments and big bankers more power. If one searches in history, it can be affirmed that the objective of the first (or second depending on the historian) Central Bank of the world was to obtain (create) money to finance wars. So the statement that money is the origin of all evils does make sense, or at least FIAT. And it is not that if fiat money disappears tomorrow in the modern world all wars will end (that requires a deeper analysis of the human psyche), but at least it will make it more difficult to finance one. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fiat-currency If the power of central banks was already immense, the removal of the gold standard made it almost limitless. The effects in terms of inflation and loss of purchasing power of this event are evident. If from 1954 to 1970 (previous year) inflation had only increased in 16 years by 42.83% for 2.58% per year, from 1971 to 1987 it was 180% for 6.6% per year. Going further into the past to analyze inflation processes may be a recipe for depression, especially if we think in 50 years from now at the minimum acceptable rates of 2% where we will arrive. Some claim that without moderate and controlled inflation we would not have the current levels of development, that is debatable, but we will never know. However, when I listen to them I can understand the logic of their arguments, but then I think, what does a big reboot take? Sorry friends, the creation of money at the request of governments does not seem to me a positive point in any term. Of course, before FIAT money there was also inflation, but it was much less and healthier and a product of the recirculation of money in the form of loans. This way of generating more money than exists, at least, has economic, productive and risky support that makes it feasible, and no, it is not infinite. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-lender You cannot lend money that you do not have, you cannot collect money from someone who is not capable of generating it. Therefore, one way or another, everything tends to balance. It is evident that before 2009 it was unthinkable to even think about eliminating the figure of the Central Bank, leaving the monetary system in the hands of commercial banks it would be even worse madness. Why 2009? Well, it is in this year that a tool emerges that shows us that it is possible and serves as an alternative to the reigning hegemony, it is Bitcoin. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-commercial-bank https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bitcoin Let me be clear, I'm not saying it's a silver bullet and the Bitcoin pattern will be established overnight. *In fact I think that Satoshi created Bitcoin as an experiment to show that it is possible and not as a final result, but that is another story*. However, it is a real alternative to central banks. What is volatile? Yes, but so were all hard currencies in the early days, or do you think humanity went from bartering to gold and silver because one day dawned and everyone agreed that a gold coin would weigh 11 grams and would be equivalent to four cows and a ton of apples? https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-gold https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-silver It is a real alternative because it is a currency whose value is established by people according to supply and demand and not according to government decree. Precisely because of these characteristics, whether it is established as a free global payment currency, as a store of value or as a mere speculative asset is something that people and their exercise of the free market will decide. Imagine something different from what is established is always difficult, there are those who oppose the abolition of central banks because it is necessary to "create more money if necessary for the economy." It is necessary to analyze this tendency of the human being, mainly those with power regardless of the ideology they have, to want to control everything in excess. What if inflation or deflation must be prevented, what if controlling money in circulation and interest. Curiously, in those societies where there was less control over the monetary system (devaluation of the weight of gold coins, printing of new banknotes) and where there was less government presence (tax increase), they suffered the least from the feared states of superinflation. Instead, the greatest nations and empires in history all began their decline the moment they began to apply these policies of devaluation and taxes in order to raise more money. What did they want more money for? To finance their unnecessary war or luxury campaigns mainly. Today, the largest nation in the world is walking the same path. The Federal Reserve (FED) has created more money out of thin air in the last three years than in the previous 30 years combined. The wild card of having the quintessential international commerce currency is not infinite, but this is something they don't even seem to care about. And why does a country that raises huge amounts of money need to go into debt or print money out of thin air? Well, mainly to support their unnecessary military spending, that's how all declines begin. https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-federal-reserve-banks https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-commerce Imagen from Unsplash https://unsplash.com/photos/8lnbXtxFGZw So I return to my initial question adding a condition, if we already have a real and effective alternative, do we really need central banks? If you think so, how long will we continue to need them? Support this content Reblog the post. Share on social networks Comment to discuss and help me grow. Top 10 crypto investment experiment Imagen tomada de Pixabay https://pixabay.com/photos/trading-blockchain-cryptocurrency-6531134/ A while ago I saw a post from someone who made purchases every January 1 for several years of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the marketcap ranking. He invested $100 in each. I found it quite curious and at the same time a good way to invest in the long term for those people who have no desire to dedicate themselves to trading. Let's be honest, this is a profession that requires study, dedication and a lot, but a lot of emotional self-control. So this is a good alternative for common people. In the post that inspired me (watch it here) some of the coins are losing, but overall the portfolio every year manages to be positive. It is then that I decided to make a version more appropriate to my possibilities and my reality. https://www.publish0x.com/top-ten-cryptocurrency-index-fund-experiments/experiment-tracking-top-10-cryptos-of-2020-month-thirty-nine-xnndmpl It is about investing 1 dollar each month in each of the cryptocurrencies belonging to the top 10, not including stablecoins. If a cryptocurrency leaves the ranking, the one that takes its place will become the focus of investments. In other words, it is a dollar cost average to the first 10 cryptocurrencies by marketcap. Undoubtedly, it is a conservative strategy, but it is an exercise that can allow me to obtain some other profit. Besides, $10 is an amount that I think I can afford to use each month without affecting me too much; although any change, news or situation, I inform you. *Note for hivers in other countries:* ***in Cuba the average salary is just 20 dollars a month*** I will be executing this idea in Kucoin an Exchange that allows you to buy amounts of less than 1 dollar. Special for low budgets like mine. https://www.kucoin.com/ucenter/signup?rcode=rJLLMNK Every month along with the new purchase I will bring you an update, so if you want to keep up with how this experiment unfolds, I invite you to follow me. Without further ado, I leave you with the first investments made. My Crypto Earnings Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/es/photos/reloj-dinero-crecimiento-crecer-2696234/ Hey dears hivers. For first time I encourage my self to write fully english without a web translator doing the job for me, so please excuse me any possible typing or writing error. The today post is to share with you my humble gains from crypto the past month of April, but I will try to do the same every month. That ´s looks like a good way to encourage my self to be more consistent and more bold to increase my earnings. I want to specify that this is only crypto base earnings (farming, staking, blogging, etc.). I do other things for living and my small and modest investments are not reflected here. Say this let´s start to see how go the past month of April. FreeBitcoin https://freebitco.in/?r=12378015 I earned in this faucet/banking cryptoaccount/gamble platform 1200 satoshis. Around 0.32 usd just for less a minute a day claiming the free roll. AdBtc https://r.adbtc.top/1153098 In this PTC platform I was not very active this month (only enter one or two times) so I only cash around 0.03 usd (120 sats). Publishox https://www.publish0x.com?a=YRdGRqo0bD My rhythm of posting not was constant and primarly with topics off the crypto subject. For that reasons my profits only reach the 0.47 usd dollars. ReadCash https://read.cash/r/criptocu After a long time away this platform, I start posting again just finishing april. I earned 0.21 dollars (0.00178434 BCH). SmartBCH This one of my more stables incomings from crypto, the sidechain of BCH give me a profit this month of 9.61 dollars thanks to the DEFI and farming system that I participate in. Hive My most profitable platform was #HIVE. I earned for my post 12.9 HBD and for my saving interest 0.673 HBD. A total of approximately 13.573 dollars. If you noted, I don´t count the Hive Power rewards. https://ecency.com/trending/hive Conclusion So, the total of my crypto earnings this April ascend to 24,213 usd dollars. Probably you think that this amount is to small, but you have to consider few things: This 24 dollars represent the 185% of the mimimal wage in my country (Cuba) and more that 200% of the minimal pension. I earned this with any money investment. The amounts put in smartBCH farms was earned as well with a crypto base founding from zero without investment. Support this content Reblog the post. Will CBDCs be the end of stablecoins? All of us who are related to the crypto world are in contact in one way or another with stablecoins. They basically became the pillar that allowed exchanges to establish themselves and made life so much easier for traders. But will they be here for much longer, or is his life drawing to a close? *Image form* *Unsplash* https://unsplash.com/photos/iNOavZh6dQ8 Truth be told, stablecoins exist because it is very difficult to link the traditional financial system to the characteristics of cryptocurrencies. Mainly the autonomy of the user to manage their money without the intervention of a third party. However, the impact of stablecoins may fade with the rise of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Although these may have greater control by the Central Banks, they will also have greater support and confidence from the general public. The reason is that it is not the same to be backed by the authority in charge of issuing money than to be backed by a private organization with little transparency. And it is that, although the stablecoins are relatively new, just the first one appeared in 2014, some scandals associated with their support and their creators have already arisen. Here I give you some examples: **Tether:** the most popular stablecoin, designed to maintain a stable value against the US dollar. However, there are concerns about the transparency of Tether and its financial backing. In 2019, the New York attorney general filed a lawsuit against Tether and its parent company, accusing them of concealing a loss of around $850 million in customer funds. This lawsuit came about due to the 2018 scandal where it was reported that Bitfinex (a cryptocurrency exchange) had lost access to some $850 million in funds from its clients, and that it had used Tether funds to cover the loss. **Circle:** is a company that issues various stablecoins, including USDC, which is (allegedly) backed by US dollars. Well, in 2020, it was reported that Circle had scaled back its operations and laid off a third of its staff due to declining demand for its stablecoins. And the company was suspected of using USDC funds to support its cash shortfall in a bank account, raising concerns about the currency's solvency. These scandals (without count algorithmic stablecoins disasters like LUNA y UST) have raised concerns about the transparency, financial backing, and regulation of stablecoins. Therefore, the introduction of CBDCs and their integration in some Exchanges may cause stablecoins to disappear, since everything is based on trust. *Image from* *Unsplash* https://unsplash.com/photos/Skfy8ljB7X4 And here we return to the point in question, if the investors have in the CBDC digital currencies issued by the central banks and backed by the government authority that issues them, that they can self-manage without needing a bank and that are integrated into the Exchanges, for what would they need a stablecoin from a private company with no transparency behind it? **After all, for privacy, decentralization and anonymity, Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies will remain.** So the debate is served: ***Will CBDCs be the end of stablecoins?*** Let me know your opinion in the comments. The Japanese Superstar Undoubtedly a phenomenon, one of the best baseball players today (not to be absolute) and a world star. Yes, Shohei Ohtani is all that at 28 years old and he can still be more. I am honest, in my country (Cuba) major league baseball is not broadcasted much, so I am not a follower of MLB. However, thanks to the internet I am aware of the development of that championship. As such Ohtani's name had come to me as a reference among the best baseball players, but I had never seen him, until the World Baseball Classic 2023. To be honest, watching a great ballplayer and not admiring him is difficult, but it's almost impossible to watch a unique player and not become a fan. In Ohtani's case, he's not only a unique player, he's a rare breed in baseball. *Image from* *Wikipedia* *under* *Creative Commons Genérica de Atribución/Compartir-Igual 2.0* *license* https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Ohtani_2018.jpg https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/deed.es If it is already difficult to find a player who hits and hits well, it is almost impossible to find a player who hits well, with speeds over 100 miles per hour and hits for an average over 270 and with the ability to give more than 30 home runs in the season. That's Shohei Ohtani. Watching him play in the World Classic was a pleasure, in this event he ended up being chosen as the most valuable player (MVP) and starred in an image for history. After being the designated hitter for the entire game with 4 appearances (1k,1bb,1 hit), he came out to pitch the bottom of the last inning. It is here where the best pitcher batter confrontation of the whole tournament takes place when he dominates Mike Trout with a strikeout to give the title to Japan. *Image from* *Wikipedia* *under* *Creative Commons Genérica de Atribución/Compartir-Igual 2.0* *license* https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Ohtani_batting_2019.08.04(3).jpg https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/deed.es With a prolific career in both NPB and MLB, Ohtani is arguably entering his best years as an athlete. After being underpaid at *Los Angeles Angels* because he signed under the age of 25 and had to submit to international signing rules and the rookie salary scale, he agreed to a 2023 salary of $30 million in his final year before becoming a free agent. Many experts believe that the Japanese could be the first player to reach a deal of $500 million or more in Major League Baseball free agency, something that would make him the highest-paid player of all time. Undoubtedly, he has the quality for such a contract. For now, after watching him play, Ohtani certainly has one more fan in me. *Originaly posted in Hive https://ecency.com/hive-189157/@yecier/la-superestrella-japonesa-esp-en

Let's talk about positive growth *Image from* *Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/illustrations/keywords-change-fish-individuality-2488210/ Perhaps for many people the term positive growth is unknown, perhaps others have the concept associated with certain situations. It is precisely because of the general perception of positive growth that I decided to prepare this analysis on the subject. In popular memory are the stories (or fables) of the *Porter of the whorehouse* and the *Microsoft janitor* as perfect examples of positive growth. If you don't know these stories, I'll give you a quick summary. They are about people who have always developed a stable and low paying job, when a new skill they have not mastered is demanded, they are fired. Faced with the need for income, they are able to identify problems in their environment and provide solutions and get paid for it. They manage to scale the activity until they become very rich. These stories as a means of motivation are a spectacular vehicle, but they can tend to confuse some people. First of all, let's be clear about a few things: Having a stable job that allows you to meet your needs is not a failure. To achieve positive growth you don't have to wait to be fired or unemployed. Positive growth goes far beyond the workplace. To reaffirm the above ideas let's go to what the concept says. Positive growth is the improvement, empowerment and building of personal resources and skills that allow for an increase in well-being. Therefore, we can define it as the development of our potential as people and the increase of our standard of living thanks to it. When we see and internalize the concept, we understand that we can develop positive growth even when we are employees, either by acquiring new skills or occupying higher paying positions. Evidently it is a state to which every human being should aspire, but especially those who have their own business or company. However, as I said earlier, it is not limited to the professional realm. Personally, positive growth can have a profound impact by allowing us to acquire skills that improve our social and family relationships. Helping us to iron out those rough characteristics we all have, to be more empathetic and to find improvements in coexistence and parenting. Then it is time to analyze ourselves, see what we can do and improve, what new skills we can and would like to learn, and, above all, how this will benefit us. This is the best way to begin the path of positive growth in whatever state we find ourselves in our lives. *Originally posted on Hive https://ecency.com/hive-10053/@yecier/hablemos-de-crecimiento-positivo-let

Exploring Good Modern Science Fiction: "Some Worthwhile Memories" Most people associate science fiction with stories of space wars and time travel. A generalized error and to some extent understandable if we take into account the influence of cinema with iconic sagas such as Star Trek or Star Wars. In the past, authors such as Jules Verne and Isaac Asimov have shown us that this is not the case. However, there are modern authors and works that elevate science fiction with narratives that move away from the mainstream and remain in the shadows of the media. This is the case of Erick Jorge Mota Perez with his work Algunos recuerdos que valen la pena; a collection of science fiction stories that delve into the mentality and human conflicts, individual and collective, generated by the realities of the humanity of the future. One can see in his writing not only the imprint of meticulous research on different aspects of today's general culture, but also the creole touches that the author gives in some of his stories. He does not allow himself to be engulfed by the pressure of the western current that dominates the current literary aspect. This Cuban author is capable of mixing drama and suspense with science fiction in the stories of this book, offering us in some of his stories an ending worthy of Agatha Christie. In addition, with his narration he transports us to a futuristic or alternative universe where, in spite of the advances, human beings continue to maintain the conflicts and emotions of present-day humanity. Undoubtedly it is a work that personally captivated me from beginning to end, in such a way that I am unable to choose one story over another because I love them all. Each story has its touch, its magic. *¿Y quién nos libra de la derrota?* tells us about a mixed martial arts fighter from the future and his demons, *Las cosas ya no son como antes* takes us to a Havana of a parallel universe and its difficulties. On the other hand, *El holanded errante* is a ghost story in space, *Memorias de una puta* gives us a glimpse of a more human side of the protagonist and *Cuando llueve en Claudia* makes us reflect on the harmfulness of ambition and human stupidity, but also tells us about love. *Algunos recuerdos que valen la pena* was winner of the Calendario Award for science fiction in 2009. Unfortunately I have only seen this book available in print, but the author has other titles available online at the following link: https://www.ecured.cu/Premios_Calendario https://www.amazon.com/stores/Erick-J.-Mota/author/B003E6XOLY Some fragments of the storie *Las cosas ya no son como antes*: Originally posted in Hive https://ecency.com/hive-179291/@yecier/explorando-la-buena-cienca-ficcion

My reasons to write I like to write when I feel I have something to say, because it is the way I found to make my ideas last in time and not have the fleeting life of a thought. I have written poems, short stories and many reflections or opinion articles. Poems when I have been in love or suffering from heartbreak; or just because, because I was inspired that day. The same with short stories, when I remember an experience or my imagination turns to productivity. *Image by* *Pexels* *from* *Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/users/pexels-2286921/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1850177 https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1850177 I know, there are people who are able to sit down and write you a book in a day, praise their talent, but it is not mine. I don't write for others either, I write for me, to express what I feel and if someone else likes it or identifies with it, welcome, that's why perhaps almost no one has seen what I dare to call "my poetry". At some point, almost ten years ago in my university days, I dared to show a story I had written as a teenager about a love experience. I was only armed with passion and desires, without techniques, without much reading experience, exposing my creation before a jury. You can imagine the outcome. I don't remember what they said, I only remember the feeling that remained in me, helplessness. Yes, helplessness, because although I recognize that being someone who was just starting out, it was most likely a work with deficiencies, I am sure that the Amateur Festivals are not to find a masterpiece; they are to channel the talent and provide tools to overcome it. I don't know the reasons, but in that jury he was destroyed, perhaps his students (those of his literary workshops) were the only ones who received a magnanimous opinion. It seems that only technique was important. Obviously that affected me, I stopped writing for a long time and for much longer I stopped showing what I was writing. I wasn't going to open my feelings for others to crush them because they don't understand them or simply don't have the technique that the academy demands. The story I submitted I don't keep it, between papers and things at the university I guess I lost it. And that hurts me, because it would be a good way to know how much I have evolved since then. Even if I had it, I wouldn't show it 😅, because for a teenager it was acceptable, but for my nowadays self it would be bad 😂. And as in life everything is about improving and evolving, if something you wrote 10 or more years ago doesn't seem improvable, it means that either you haven't advanced or we are talking about your masterpiece. I continue to write for myself, although perhaps I am no longer afraid to show my poetry or stories. Maybe it's because it doesn't matter anymore if others consider them bad, in the end, I don't write for them. *Originally posted in Hive https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@yecier/mis-razones-para-escribir-my

Learn how to create functional Telegram bots without knowing how to program If you have ever used Telegram then it is very likely that you have seen or used them at some point. And this messaging app is famous for being the first to include them. Yes, I'm talking about Telegram bots and it is very likely that you have also wondered, how to create Telegram bots without knowing how to program? No doubt as a user of the messaging application, they must have seemed great and practical to you. They are in the groups to control spam or provide information and help. Some of them are used to download videos, music, podcasts, etc. and there are even some for playing games. You may even have needed to create one to automate some process or manage your community, but you have not been able to do it for lack of programming skills. Despite all the posts and videos with sensationalist titles to create bots without programming, to make a functional bot you need programming skills and a 24 hours active server where to run the code. Well, that's how it was until now, because today I'm going to show you how to create Telegram bots without programming. Image from motionstock at Pixabay. https://pixabay.com/users/motionstock-13298494/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=5662082 https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=5662082 But is a Telegram bot really necessary? It really depends, but there are several advantages of having a Telegram bot, both for individual users and for startups and small businesses. Let's take a look at some of the advantages of creating Telegram bots: **Automation and time saving:** you will manage to automate repetitive tasks such as sending welcome messages to new members of a group or channel, answering frequently asked questions, sending stats updates, etc. Achieving this automation will allow you to save time and effort on a day-to-day basis and increase the efficiency and productivity of both an individual and a business. **Accessibility:** Telegram bots are accessible from anywhere and at any time, as long as you have Internet access and are registered in the app. Thanks to Telegram's features, they will be usable from any device and even via the web, which increases the convenience and accessibility of its services. **Customization:** high customization, practically only limited by your creativity, as bots can even interact with other online services and platforms. As you can see, creating a Telegram bot can be a very useful solution. How to create Telegram bots without programming? To manage to create a Telegram bot without programming we are going to make use of a no-code tool, yes, exactly, another Telegram bot 😏. Let's take a look at the steps: Step 1. BotFather, the daddy of chicks. Screenshot taken by me. Open Telegram and search for the bot "BotFather", here we have to pass all, code or no-code. Start it using the /newbot command and follow the instructions to create a new bot. At the end, the BotFather will give you an access token that you will need to interact with your bot, keep in mind that you must keep this token well, it is what gives you control over your bot and if it falls into malicious hands can get hold of it. Step 2. Manybot: the no-code bot Search in Telegram for the "Manybot" bot (access it directly from https://t.me/Manybot) and click "Start". The bot will send you a welcome message and a list of commands and instructions. Choose /addbot and follow the process. Screenshot taken by me. Once you have followed them you will be able to associate your bot with the token BotFather gave you. Once this is done you can move on to customization. Step 3. Configure and customize your own bot without programming. Go to the bot you created, if you entered the correct token it is already associated to Manybot and you can now use the different Manybot functions to create commands and define the operation flow. Screenshot taken by me. Keep in mind that the functions may be somewhat limited, but you will be able to create a bot without programming for a wide range of activities that cover most basic needs of a user or business. You'll be able to get your bot to take orders, share files, manage groups, etc. and all without throwing out a single line of code. Image by Victoria_Watercolor at Pixabay https://pixabay.com/users/victoria_watercolor-6314823/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=7016419 https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=7016419 You will have to apply your creativity and make trial and error until you achieve a result that leaves you at ease. This is how I was able to create @canje a bot that allows me to provide a safe and fast option for cuHivers to exchange their currencies from Cuba. **Try it ->** https://t.me/CubaCanje_bot https://ecency.com/@canje If you have made it this far then you know that I fulfilled what I promised by telling you a way to create Telegram bots without knowing how to program. So, if you liked or found this tutorial useful, please share so that others can also learn about this option. If you know of another way to create a Telegram bot without programming, that is simple and accessible, please share it in the comments, it's free and helps a lot. *** Originaly posted on Hive https://ecency.com/hive-10053/@yecier/aprende-como-crear-bots-de

Women's Boxing in Cuba: When Ignorance Kills Dreams Their voices clamored for the opportunity for a long time, but their claims always fell on deaf ears. Shielding the machismo or misogyny in an alleged concern for women's health, delaying it in time under the excuse of medical and psychological studies, the official practice of women's boxing was banned by the authorities for many years. Women's boxing was banned in Cuba after the triumph of the revolution in 1959*. *Image generated by me with* *Lexicart* https://lexica.art/prompt/52c077c9-f43b-4ae5-83d6-12fd436f1c27 However, on December 5, 2022, the sport was officially approved. Above all, due to the conjunction of two main factors: the pressure exerted by women to exercise their right and the need to obtain sports results at the international level. Even so, not even those who "approved" it are comfortable with the decision. This can be deciphered in the justifications given as to why women were denied the right to practice a sport in Cuba that has been practiced in the world for decades and of which the island was a pioneer. For example, according to an article published in the officialist newspaper Trabajadores, Alberto Puig de la Barca, president of the Cuban Boxing Federation said: https://www.trabajadores.cu/20230227/boxeo-femenino-el-tortuoso-camino-de-un-sueno/ We were convinced, but we needed to persuade those who were not. There were people who did not like it and now they accept it. Persuade who? How is it possible that some people decide what sport a woman can or cannot practice professionally? Contrary to the idea that women in Cuba have all their rights guaranteed in Cuba, this episode shows that there are still many remnants of institutional machismo that violate them. Not even the Federation of Cuban Women made any effort to support the claims of the women who enjoyed boxing. Demonstrating that its objective is closer to institutional interests than to women's social rights. Even, Puig de la Barca gives as one of the reasons the ¨preocupación¨ was related to the dangers for women's health due to the practice of this sport. And it seems that this is something rooted in the Cuban sports movement, since this same excuse was already used before to stop the practice of female wrestling and weightlifting. It is even more improbable when such justifications were never used to accept and stimulate the practice of these sports by men. Many may say: let's leave this in the past, it is already approved. But I want to tell you something, precisely for not saying or analyzing anything when it happened previously with other sports is that this nonsense was repeated with women's boxing. If we do not put this in perspective it will happen again, it could be with MMA (mixed martial arts) or with some other sport activity. *Image generated by me with* *Lexicart* https://lexica.art/prompt/444038f2-5281-4a75-b7e8-568e5dab30d5 Where are the dreams of women like Namibia Flores? Time does not come back, and at 46 years of age after spending decades fighting for the right to compete and represent Cuba, the fact that the practice has been made official is a bittersweet balm for her wounds. https://www.trabajadores.cu/20230122/namibia-flores-rodriguez-pidele-al-tiempo-que-vuelva/amp/ Joy for the women who will now be able to do it and sadness, perhaps anger, for the opportunity that was denied her. *In an interview to Felicia Mesa, a female cuban professional boxer before 1959, she expressed: https://oncubanews.com/deportes/la-pantera-saguera/ Fidel (Castro) put an end to boxing for women because he said it was a danger, that something bad could come out in the breast. And I had to stop boxing. Originaly posted on Hive https://ecency.com/hive-189157/@yecier/boxeo-femenino-en-cuba-cuando

Is the concentration of bitcoin a real problem? Is there enough bitcoin left out there? Is it too late to start investing in bitcoin? Will most of humanity be excluded due to the concentration of bitcoin by a few? These are logical and frequent questions among those taking the orange pill for the first time. It is also normal that those who wish to break the chains of FIAT domination take part of these concerns. And the fact is that there is no point in tearing down one system for another if the characteristics and defects of the one being replaced are replicated. In this case, one of the main fears is the large accumulation of bitcoins by early investors, the classic 1% having more than the remaining 99%. To assess whether these fears are unfounded or have validity, or at least try to, let's go to the numbers. However, I must first make some clarifications, in this analysis I will be taking data from the website Glassnode which specializes in providing data on the Bitcoin market, blockchain data and network performance. https://glassnode.com/ I will also be separating miners and Exchanges in the ranking, as the address of an Exchange houses the capital of its millions of users. That said, the ranking of holders will be as follows: Shrimps (<1 BTC). Crabs (1-10 BTC) Octopus (10-50 BTC) Fish (50-100 BTC) Dolphins (100-500 BTC) Sharks (500-1,000 BTC) Whales (1,000-5,000 BTC) Humpback Whales (>5,000 BTC). Now let's see in the following image the percentages that each group has of the total bitcoins available at two different times. Let's see the differences and what we can interpret from this data. *Image made by me in Paint taking data from* *Glassnode* https://glassnode.com/ As you can see, there is a decrease in three of the big Bitcoin players (miners, exchanges and whales). The increase in Humpbacks and Sharks can be explained with the decrease in the accumulated by Whales, as these may have moved to either of the two aforementioned categories due to the buying or selling of their bitcoin holdings. Something to note is that the lower train has increased in a ¨significant¨ way its weight in the accumulation of BTC. This may be either because new users and holders have joined Bitcoin or because those who were already in the ecosystem have decided to withdraw their funds from the exchanges to protect themselves against possible bankruptcies such as those that occurred during 2022. These numbers alone do not give us enough context to answer the initial questions. That is why I also provide you with the following data on the number of participants in each investment category: Miners (51k) Major exchanges (15) Humpbacks (220) Whales(2k) Sharks(1.5k) Dolphins(10k) Fish(11k) Octopus(72k) Crabs(560k) Shrimps(22M) If we do a quick calculation it gives us that approximately 0.65% of investors (from Miners to Octopus, excluding Exchanges) have in their control 71.2% of all coins. The above numbers could be a source of concern due to the high concentration of bitcoin, however, the progression is heading towards a state where large investors concentrate fewer and fewer coins. It is important to note that the above is an estimate due to the pseudo-anonymous nature of bitcoin. Also for practical reasons in this analysis I did not exclude bitcoins that are considered lost (including the 1.04 million bitcoins in ¨poder¨ of Satoshi Nakamoto), although doing so would change the picture to the detriment of whales and humpbacks. Although large institutional investors (financial and state-owned) have now appeared, the increase in the amounts in the hands of Shrimps and Crabs, albeit slowly, is a constant process since Bitcoin emerged in 2009. And it is likely to continue over time. Some of the reasons for this is that ue to the fact that unlike FIAT you can't print more coins in an unlimited way (something that always favors the mega rich). Also, you will always need to spend some satoshis to satisfy your economic needs (whether you are a humpback or a shrimp). Even as Bitcoin becomes more popular as a payment method more people will have the opportunity to accumulate satoshis and exchange value for value. *Image by* *3D Animation Production Company* *from* *Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/users/quincecreative-1031690/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=3024279 https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=3024279 The picture would result in less concentration of bitcoin in a few hands if we were able to separate the wallets from custodian platforms for small investors like Grayscale and from Wrapped BTC on other blockchains. https://grayscale.com/ Then we can say that there is indeed a concentration of bitcoins in a few hands, but not at the alarming level of the traditional FIAT system. And, moreover, it is proven that over time that concentration in a few hands has decreased and will continue to do so. Therefore, in my opinion: there is enough bitcoin for everyone, it is never too late to start investing in bitcoin and most of humanity will not be excluded due to the concentration of bitcoins by a few. And you, what do you think? *Disclaimer: this article is not any kind of investment advice, it is intended for informational purposes only.

Why do we need a second Hive account? The truth is that it is not necessary to have more than one Hive account. Since you can use the same account for all kinds of activities, from content creation to trading. However, as your status within the Hive community increases, so does the probability of being personally identified. An action that could put your privacy at risk. It is true that we can create generic users or accounts that have no link to our real identity. But it is also true that many times it is necessary to put our real data, especially if you want to build a personal brand or establish yourself as an authority on a topic. In these cases, a second account provides an extra level of anonymity for managing our finances. Well, it allows you to maintain a certain distance between yourself and the accumulated monetary value. This to some extent protects us from being targets of attacks and extortion. However, it must be borne in mind that the frequency of direct transfers from one account to another can make it easier to identify that the ownership of the funds is ours. Although there is always a safer alternative to make this type of tracking difficult. To achieve greater security, it is necessary to make a **Hive -> BTC LN -> Hive** bridge. We can achieve this using multiple platforms, but the fastest and most effective has been the lnd.v4v.app platform. Once you have converted the HIVE or the HBD to the Bitcoin Lightning Network, you can convert them back to Hive through this platform by depositing them in your second account. https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@yecier/why-do-we-need-a-second-hive-account In this way, you make sure that no one can trace the destination or origin of your hive stored in your anonymous account back to you. Now answer me in the comments, do you think it is necessary to have a second hive account? Do you already have one? I would love to know your opinion. *Originally posted on Hive https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@yecier/why-do-we-need-a-second-hive-account *Lead image from the community of hive Stock Images https://ecency.com/hive-118554/@quantumg/hive-logo-cover-images-hive-garden-hive-bulb-at-the-end-of-the-hive-block-chain

Humanity goals for the future On the occasion of the end of this year 2022, which has had so many negative particularities, it is a good time to set some goals for the future as humanity. Perhaps it may be utopian, but as John Lennon would say, you have to be a dreamer. This is the list of goals that as a collective we should pursue. Achieve universal coverage of drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in all regions of the world. Achieve gender equality and empower women and girls across the globe from all walks of life. Eliminate hunger and achieve access to adequate nutrition for all human beings. Strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities in the face of climate change and increase measures to mitigate its effects. Focus technological innovation towards a sustainable perspective that improves human life and protects the environment. Improve educational processes so as to achieve greater equity and justice in access for all the inhabitants of the planet. Minimize where possible the use of fossil fuels; promoting alternative energies such as wind, tidal or solar. Well, can you think of any other objective? Would you change any of these?

Intenté describirlo todo y expresarme a través de un video, pero me fue imposible coordinar las ideas. Y es que me toca de cerca emocionalmente porque soy uno de los protagonistas de la historia. I tried to describe everything and express myself through a video, but it was impossible for me to coordinate the ideas. And it is that it touches me closely emotionally because I am one of the protagonists of the story. https://ecency.com/hive-10053/@yecier/migracion-en-cuba-los-balseros .

Migration in Cuba: The returned "balseros" I don't know how long this text can be. I tried to describe everything and express myself through a video, but it was impossible for me to coordinate the ideas. And it is that it touches me closely emotionally because I am one of the protagonists of the story. Do not expect images in this post, during the process I forced myself not to save any image, video or chat that could compromise me or those around me. And it is that, the new Penal Code that governs in our country determines as a crime the exit or attempt to leave the country "illegally". In this way, those who try to migrate by boat have the added risk of facing a prison in case of failure, one even stricter than the island of Cuba already is. The causes of trying to go out on a "raft" are the same as those of those who leave by plane to Central or South America and cross borders. Exactly the same, except one, money. Leaving by plane and undertaking the journey requires between 5,000 and 10,000 US dollars. An amount that not even by not going out to bars, restaurants, nightclubs or by not consuming on the street a normal Cuban could reach in 20 years. Preparing a boat is not cheap either, but obviously it is an achievable amount. And every week at least 5 boats leave from all over Cuba. Of course, I do not share, understand, or accept that minors are included in this type of travel. The question of this post, more than letting off steam, is to reflect on an aspect that catches my attention. We are all happy for those who arrive successfully and at the same time we are sad for those who unfortunately die. But we keep those who are sent back in limbo, those who even before leaving lose everything in a police raid or who, as in my case, suffer a technical malfunction that ruins everything right at the moment of leaving. Thinking of publishing it once it was successful, I wrote: It is very difficult to express to the people we love how much they represent to us, especially when it is a see you soon with a farewell flavor. How to tell my mom that I love her, that her son explodes with pride when he thinks of her, but that it's okay that I'm not here, that if I'm not there, keep going, that I went after my dreams and that it's not her fault. How to explain to her that I love her and still leave her alone. No, you can't, it's inevitable that her heart will break and that breaks mine even more. How do I tell my family (including the few friends I have) that I had to leave like a poacher, in secret, without telling them anything, without saying goodbye, without giving them that hug, that eternal hug that you give to someone you love. I write this and I cry, and my legs give way, and my heart squeezes. And yes, I'm afraid, but life is a risk. I love you, I really love you, stay with that, because I, in one way or another, am fulfilling my dreams. Obviously I was going with the best of hopes, but I knew what I was up against in the worst case scenario. It was a conscious decision (perhaps that's why I oppose or resent so much that some include children in these things). How lucky we were not to get stranded on the high seas? Yes and no. Yes, because if it was in the open sea it could have exposed us to extreme conditions. Not because I highly doubt that on the high seas we would have hit a rock on the seabed that caused us to lose buoyancy and speed. What do we feel that we lost a unique opportunity? Yes, for sure. Because we made efforts and sacrifices, because all the stress that we and our families endure came to nothing. Because we knew the quality of what we did (when a group of people get together and raise the money, it's to buy the materials and put everything together themselves). A missed opportunity because although it could be repaired quickly, by the time we were done the weather conditions wouldn't let us try until many days later. At the risk of finding the boat as it ended up happening. And it is that the police may take hours to appear before a report of robbery or homicide, but before a sighting of an illegal exit they are super efficient. Only that speed of response to the complaint of a sign painted in honor of a scoundrel is comparable. Luckily, we are alive, we are lucky to wake up another day, to get up and continue, unfortunately many others are not. However, the blow is hard, there is someone who sold everything in his house and he has to sleep on the floor; there is the one who dropped out of the university and now runs the risk of reprisals because he was an inserted cadet of the FAR, there is the one who borrowed the money and now owes tens of thousands of pesos. Literally, we find a stone in the way (or several). I could talk, describe or explain more, but it is obvious that it would not be prudent, not from here at least. Those who should go to jail are not those who try to leave a place they feel they do not belong and where they are not accommodated, they are the ones who do not give space and appropriate a nation that should belong to everyone. If at any time a Cuban government official comes and questions me about this post, I will say that it came from my imagination, it is a fictional story. Although I know that you, the Cuban who reads me, I know that you don't need to ask me. **Originaly posted by me on https://ecency.com/hive-10053/@yecier/migracion-en-cuba-los-balseros

Last week, perhaps the most important and risky project of my life, for which I put aside a stable professional relationship of 1 year, failed miserably. Not everything goes well, but after the natural disappointment in these cases, it's time to turn the page and start again. This year 2022 that is ending without a doubt for me emotionally has been very difficult. I suffered from depression, anxiety and insecurity for many months. From this situation I learned many things and today I am a little more resilient, but without a doubt it was a shitty year and it is not bad to admit it.
