I watched a romance TV series. The guy fell in love with this girl when they were kids. He had a memory of being with her when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. He grew up believing the girl had died. He was forced into an arranged marriage. He had planted a cherry tree as a memory of the girl and his wife, likely out of jealousy, chopped it down. LOL. If I had planted a cherry blossom tree and my spouse chopped it down, that would have grounds for divorce. I can't imagine anybody wanting to deliberately chop down a cherry blossom tree. That's probably why I never understood the myth about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree. I mean … really! You want to teach kids that G.W. was honest and could never tell a lie, did you have to use a cherry tree in the story?? LOL. A wife should understand that a Cherry tree holds memorabilia 😞
