Hypoestes phyllostachya. This plant is also known as polka dot plant, flamingo plant, and freckle face. There are several color combinations or varieties, and mine here is green with pink. This is the most common type available here. I have yet to see other colors, like the red and white types. Propagation is fairly easy. It's done through cutting. When the plant blooms, its flowers readily get fertilized too and its seeds can spread anywhere. I've seen them grow in the lawn and in corners where I didn't expect to find them. They grow in mixed garden soil. Water often because they like it. If the soil gets even slightly dry, their leaves will droop. Polka dot plants add a lovely color to any garden. If you want them to get lush, pinch or cut any new growth or stems that have grown too long to keep the plant looking compact. 💮❣️
